I spent most of last week playing F.E.A.R. considering it's about 15 years old, it holds up very well. The horror aspects seem a bit weak and predictable, but the firefights were truly enjoyable. I might tackle the DLCs this weekend.
I'm also playing Stitch each day, even if just to do the daily challenge. I also intend to carry on with Assassins' Creed: Odyssey. It's taken me 20 hours just to reach Thermopylae. At this rate I might finish the game by Christmas.
I'm also feeling the urge to go back to either Animal Crossing or Dreamlight Valley. Not sure which will win yet. Or maybe I'll go for a similar game I haven't played before.
I have started a playthrough of Assassins' Creed: Odyssey. I studied the Peleponnesian War at university and am interested in how the game handles the setting. Aside from that, I'm playing Midnight Resistance on Evercade, Princess Peach: Showtime! on Switch and Alone in the Dark on PC.
I will be going back to Princess Peach: Showtime! to mop up some of the items I missed. Aside from that, I'm playing Dynasty Warriors 3 on PS2 and Undead Land on PC.
I'd probably score it an 8. I enjoyed pretty much all of it except a couple of baking bits. I finished the story but haven't gone back to find the items I missed or the post-game stuff, but I plan to. I think the sheer amount of variety and attempt to be fun makes up for the lower level of challenge. Sometimes it's nice to have a simpler, laid back game instead of a crushing challenge or frantic adrenaline ride.
Princess Peach Showtime is keeping me entertained. The game is a lot of fun, with plenty of variety. Those audition challenges seem surprisingly tough, too. I'm also hoping to get a bit of time with Alone in the Dark and Forza Motorsport.
I'm playing Assassins' Creed: Black Flag on Switch. I'm enjoying it so far, but have a lot still to do. And I can't catch any of those shanty notes when they start moving away.
Other than that, I am still playing Halls of Tornent on PC, and also picked up Expendable in the Steam sale. I remember wanting that on the Dreamcast. This weekend I will find out whether it was worth the wait.
I finished Dredge earlier, and have started Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster. I'm also playing Helldivers 2. I really enjoyed the first game on the Vita, and so far this one seems as good.
Silkworm for me. I had the Spectrum port as a kid and beat it several times. I didn't realise that it was missing some of the bosses, so finally playing the arcade original is a treat.
This weekend I will be trying to complete Super Mario RPG. I had played it a bit on the SNES mini, but got stuck on that 3d maze bit where you can't see Mario. Hopefully I'll find a way through this time.
I'm also getting further with Enthusia Racing, Rush Rally 3 and Dredge.
I am playing Skies of Arcadia. I'm taking my time with it, grinding levels and exploring the islands carefully. It's a lot of fun, but really highlights how slow loading times could be on the Dreamcast. Aside from that, I'm hoping to start Dredge this weekend, as I got that for Christmas.
I finished Robocod and... way to not make an effort.
I get that the Amiga version's animated intro had to be cut because it was basically an advert for Penguin biscuits. But the Switch version doesn't have an intro or any kind of ending cut scene. Not even a simple "Game Over."
Given some of the graphical glitches I was encountering, this seems like a sloppy port. Which is a shame.
My search for a christmas-themed game left me with Robocod. I hadn't realised just how much the Switch version leans into the theme in comparison to the Amiga original.
I'm ill today, so will probably be stuck in bed playing more of that, or possibly some Marauder or Rogue 64 on the Evercade.
I'm mostly playing Wonder, but have also been sipping back into Two Worlds on the Xbox 360.
Yes it's janky and the voice acting is atrocious, but the ambition is laudable. I'm only playing it to hoover up a couple of achievements I missed back in the day, so can mainly avoid the plot and dialogue.
I'm currently playing FC 24. It's nice to see EA make an effort with the Switch release for once, and the lack of Trophies/Achievements means I won't feel pressured to play modes I'm not interested in. Also playing the new Forza Motorsport on the Xbox. I was hoping to have some new Evercade games today, too, but it looks like the delivery was botched so I'll have to wait.
Am I right in thinking this week's Arcade Archives title skipped Europe?
If so, I'll be getting my kicks from Alien Syndrome on the Astro City mini, Rush Rally 3 on Switch and dabbling with Starfield. I definitely find I enjoy Starfield more if I only play in shorter bursts.
I'm still mopping up events in Forza Motorsport 3. At this rate I might finish before the new game comes out.
On Switch, I played through Ralph and the Blue Ball. It's short, simple and a bit frustrating at times. But I absolutely support the idea of making a game just to show how awesome your dog is!
We have friends visiting this weekend, so gaming time will be limited. I'm hoping to make a start on Quake 2, though.
Also, I picked up a used copy of Forza Motorsport 3 thos week. I still had my save file from 2012, so am now on a mission to get the last achievement I missed back "in the day".
I am playing Call of Juarez on Switch. I got it when it came out, tried it for about 5 minutes and forgot about it. Which is a shame as it's actually quite good.
I'm also playing GT Pro Series on the Wii. Imagine if Sega GT and Auto Modellista had a baby that liked to pretend it was Ridge Racer, and you've pretty much got this game.
@Shambo I hated that boss. My advice is to save the automatic shotgun one of the henchmen drops in this room until this stage of the fight. The attack pattern is actually very predictable, so just focus on dodging the attacks and snapping off a couple of shots between each set of attacks. You're almost there!
I'm playing Ys Origins at the moment. I'm really struggling with the second of the "beasts", though. I have found the other boss battles simple enough, but can barely get half way through his health bar before I die. For less stressful gaming, I'm playing Windstorm: Start of a Great Friendship. It's a decent looking game in screenshots, but stutters at times, which is a shame. Finally, I dug out my Wii yesterday and am playing through Geometry Wars: Galaxies.
I have 2 levels left on Huntdown. The boss fights are certainly getting creative - and difficult.
Before I get around to that, though, I intend to explore Antstream Arcade on the Xbox. There are some classic games from my childhood that I'd like to re-visit on there.
I picked up Gylt last week, so will hopefully try that out later.
Otherwise, been slowly playing through Huntdown.
My plan to complete Legend of Wukong has ended with failure. There is a game-breaking bug in Chapter Five, so I have to hope it gets patched or I won't be progressing.
@Shambo I'm playing Huntdown, too. Great game, especially once you get into the rhythm of the boss fights.
I'm also playing Legend of Wukong on the Evercade. It's a decent JRPG that suffers from being waaay too hard at first. Once I'd taken down the first two bosses, though, the game really opened up to a more enjoyable experience.
I am also continuing with Diablo IV, having finally found a build I like.
I'm playing through Legend of Wukong on the Evercade at the moment. I had heard it was tough, but I'm going to do it without using save states/casinos exploit.
Additionally, I am finishing off the Star Path in Dreamlight Valley, messing around with Mud Runners and trying to progress on Diablo 4.
I'm playing a horror game on PS5 called The Nightfall. The atmosphere is suitably creepy, with good use of music. But the game is plagued with screen tear and pop-in. I'll persevere for the atmosphere, but it's a shame the developers didn't properly optimise it.
Additionally, I also plan to play The New Zealand Story. I beat it back in the day on my Spectrum. Now it's time to tackle the arcade version.

Re: Shadow Of The Ninja Remake Emerges With Switch Release Date
I had this back on my NES and quite enjoyed it. Will definitely pick it up.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th April)
I'm hooked on Stitch at the moment. I really like the chilled atmosphere and gradual difficulty curve.
I'm also continuing Assassins' Creed: Odyssey. I'm about 17 hours in, and still messing around in Delphi. So it's slow going.
Finally, I've downloaded Potions: A Curious Tale. I've enjoyed it so far, but only about an hour in.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th April)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th April)
I have irl commitments this weekend, but hope to get some time on Halls of Torment and Princess Peach: Showtime! when I get the chance.
I'm also considering getting Stranded: Alien Dawn on PC while it's on sale.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th March)
I will be going back to Princess Peach: Showtime! to mop up some of the items I missed.
Aside from that, I'm playing Dynasty Warriors 3 on PS2 and Undead Land on PC.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Princess Peach: Showtime!
@PALversusNTSC you've clearly forgotten about Tingle.
Lucky you.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 2nd)
My Little Universe on Switch. It's a great game to switch off with.
Also, Excite Truck on Wii and Halls of Torment on PC. Oh, and probably more Forza Motorsport.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 24th)
I am currently playing Minecraft Dungeons on the Switch.
I'm also trying to finish the career mode in Forza Motorsport and Survival mode on I Am Alive.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 13th)
@MattAllsopp thank you. It certainly looks good so far.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 13th)
I should be getting Signalis for my birthday this weekend, so hopefully playing that.
I'm also playing Dredge on the PS5, Geometry Wars and Jeremy McGrath's Offroad on the Xbox 360 and, maybe some Rush Rally 3.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Christmas 2023 Edition)
I'm playing "clean the house before relatives arrive for Christmas". The gameplay sucks.
Once I'm done with that, though, I hope to play some more Enthusia Racing on PS2, Holiday Lemmings '93 on the Amiga and FC 24 on the Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 9th)
I have a busy weekend ahead, so won't get much gaming time. I do plan to try 1080 on NSO, though.
Also, I'm trying to find a Christmas-ey game to play. Christmas Nights, perhaps, or Shenmue? Maybe The Division or Robocod.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 25th)
I am currently playing Robocop: Rogue City on the PS5, and really enjoying it.
On the Switch, I've been playing Arcade Archives: Warp & Warp. The game is older than I am, but I love the simple but challenging gameplay.
I also set up my Dreamcast last night, so plan to play a little Sega GT, Sega Rally 2, Dead or Alive 2 or Silver.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4th)
I've been diving back into the DLC for Grid Legends this week. I also have Robocop: Rogue City arriving today.
On Switch, I'm playing FC24.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 28th)
I unlocked the remaining achievements on Two Worlds, so can finally put that behind me.
For the rest of the weekend I will be playing Mario Wonder, Alan Wake 2 and sampling the Gaelco racing games on Evercade.
Re: SNES Racer Series Top Gear Is Being Revived As A Switch Collection In 2024
I have the first two on Evercade, but I'll happily pick this up for the other two games.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 30th)
@Teksetter Yes, they didn't release Metro Cross in Europe when they did that. So I wonder if it's a Bandai Namco issue rather than theirs.
Oh well, plenty of other great Arcade Archives releases to enjoy.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 30th)

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 23rd)
I FINALLY finished Forza Motorsport 3 this week. That required a lot of grinding, but I'm glad I finished it.
Now going to sink my teeth into Starfield. I might also spend some time on Bone Marrow on the Evercade and Horizon Chase Turbo on the Switch.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 16th)
I'm working today, so gaming time will be limited. I plan to chip away at a little more Forza 3 and also try out F Zero 99.
Tomorrow I will hopefully find time to go back to Starfield, which I haven't had chance to touch since last weekend.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 19th)
I finished GT Pro Series last night, so will carry on with trying to get the last achievement for Forza Motorsport 3.
Aside from that, I'm playing the new Arcade Archives game. It's like Gauntlet, but with the power-up system from Gradius attached.

Re: Taito Classic 'Parasol Stars' Is Getting A Revival On The Switch
@michaelf unfortunately that's unlikely since Parasol Stars didn't get ab arcade release. It only ever came out on home consoles and computers.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 15th)
I picked up Gylt last week, so will hopefully try that out later.

Re: Random: Digital Foundry Says Switch 'Last Of Us' Clone Has "No Redeeming Features Whatsoever"
@NinjaNicky is that the one that encourages you to play it "in class" in the marketing blurb?

Some of those monster designs need more random eyeballs.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 1st)
@Teksetter Food Fight is a great game, so good choice.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 1st)
Happy gaming, everyone.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 24th)
@wazlon good luck. Personally I think the arcade version is harder than the home ports. Or maybe I was just better at games back then. 🤔
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 24th)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 17th)
After finishing Breath of the Wild last week I wanted a shorter game. Close to the Sun turned out to be a lot shorter than I expected, though.
So now I am messing around on Diablo 4, and will probably play Headhunter on the Dreamcast later.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 10th)
I'm still playing Breath of the Wild. I have 18 hearts and the Master Sword. With 2 divine beasts done, I think I'm making good progress.
I hope to finish within the next week, take a break with a shorter game and then maybe leap into Tears of the Kingdom.
When I need something a little different, though, I'm still trying to git gud at Project X.
