Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?

xzacutor

I've had the launch 3DS (blue with ambassador games), 3DS XL (A Link Between Worlds Zelda Edition), New 3DS (White) and the New 3DS XL (SNES Edition).

My favourite is the New 3DS because the faceplates, how pocketable it is, and we got it early in Australia. 🇦🇺

Man I wish they'd make a new DS system.

Re: Community: It's Time To Rate Your Switch 1 & 2 Games Of The Year

xzacutor

I'm liking Kirby Air Riders at the moment. There's tons to do and I like how differently all the vehicles play.
I give it a 10.
Pokemon ZA was good but a bit short and I've got nothing to do in it at the moment. The whole being set in one city didn't bother me as much as I thought it would since new wild zones opened as you play and new pokemon became available that way.
I give it a 10.
Mario Kart World is okay but I like the older ones a bit better. Unlocking the characters with Kamek was annoying and the race to other courses were a bit boring.
I give it an 8.
Haven't played Metroid Prime 4 yet but I'm expecting it to be good.
Donkey Kong Bananza started off okay but got boring and repetative real fast. It was so bad that I didn't bother with the DLC. It's probably my biggest disappointment this year.
I give it a 2.

Re: New Kirby amiibo Will Apparently Be Nintendo's "Most Expensive amiibo Ever"

xzacutor

@Willo567 in Australia, EB Games is usually the most expensive place to get them and they've got them for the following prices:
(Note: The $US values are what I got from using an online currency converter today where $1AU equals $0.66US. $AU values include GST.)

Metroid single figures: $30 AU ($20.92 US) each
Metroid bike: $45 AU ($29.88 US) each
Kirby Air Riders: $60 AU ($39.84 US) each
Mario Galaxy: $45 AU ($29.88 US) each

So you're paying about $10 US more across the board. Also I don't know if the prices in the article include tax so it's probably more.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

xzacutor

I don't think it's that great at the moment but it normally takes a while for a console to build up a good library of games. I have enjoyed playing some of the Switch games like Pokemon and Zelda at a good frame rate though. So there's that.

I was hoping Donkey Kong would be better, but I got bored of smashing through everything pretty early in the game, and after beating the planet core boss I didn't want to play any of the post game stuff.

I'm sort of looking forward to Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby Air Riders, but nothing's got me particularly hyped for the future at the moment.

I just don't think the Switch 2 has a must have game at the moment, but maybe the Mario 40th Anniversary or another direct will announce something to get hyped about.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Switch 2

I had some troubles during my initial setup without doing the system transfer from my original Switch. I wanted to keep my saves on my original Switch because I didn't want to fill all the memory on the Switch 2 with Switch 1 games so I chose not to do the system transfer.

I had downloaded Mario Kart World but it wouldn't let me play it initially unless I had my original Switch next to my Switch 2 (because of the new digital game card system). The switches wouldn't detect each other for some reason so I tried changing my Switch 2 to be my nintendo account's primary switch but that didn't fix the issue.
I put the systems right up to each other and tried it again later on in the day then it worked.

I don't understand why there isn't a primary Switch 1 system and a primary Switch 2 system if they are going to do things this way. Having a Switch 2 game's usability being dependent on a Switch 1 (a console that can't even run the game) is rediculous and if I had traded in my old Switch to get the Switch 2 I would have been unable to play my digital copy of Mario Kart World.

Outside of that I like the Switch 2. I like that it can run more powerful games and I like the new hardware.

Re: Video: Switch 2's Mouse Controls Are Nothing New For Nintendo

And here I thought they just repositioned the IR scanner from the OG JoyCon to a position where players and devs could actually use it (instead of it being a dead feature outside of Labo, Ring Fit Adventure and 1 2 Switch.) Innovation through reorganisation, I like it.

Though it does make me wish they'd add a scroll wheel like Sakurai suggested.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

xzacutor

It could've been ok but the 10 fps limit on it kinda kills it. This feature is also on PS5 without the frame limit and I use it sometimes with my friend doing missions online in GTA. (I'd use it more but it's a hassle to remember where it is in the menu and set it up.)

It's actually pretty cool to see what he's up to in real time and helpful when we have to coordinate takedowns of groups of enemies in the stealth sections so we don't set off the alarm and spawn in enemy reinforcements.

Re: Random: Missed Out On A Switch 2 Pre-Order? Sakurai Has The Perfect Solution

Meanwhile in Australia there's plenty available to preorder.

You can get them from JB, EB, Big W and even Nintendo if you meet the requirements. Hell you can even get them from Officeworks which doesn't typically sell game consoles.

Oh by the way I don't mean they were available for a few minutes and sold out, I mean you can go on their sites and order them right now. So over here there seems to be plenty of stock and they're selling them everywhere.

Re: Japanese My Nintendo Store Goes Down Amidst Switch 2 Lottery Frenzy

@SillyG I managed to get the Street Fighter amiibo, SF amiibo cards and a Gamecube controller when the store went back up from Nintendo AU too.

I didn't know they were exclusive to the My Nintendo Store over here and I wouldn't have even known to check yesterday if it wasn't for a comment you posted in another article so thanks for that. 👍
