Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

the_beaver

Please, guys, DO NOT PREORDER! DO NOT BUY THE CONSOLE AT LAUNCH!

If we resist the temptation and wait a little longer, Nintendo will see no other chance than to low the prices of the games.
We need to send them the message, not with words, but with acts.

WE WON'T BUY YOUR GAMES AT THOSE PRICES, NINTENDO!

Re: Nintendo Comments On Mario Kart World's Controversial Price

@ChakraStomps It's not because I don't have the money. It's because I don't consider this movement FAIR. And I don't want to be treated as stupid (maybe you do).
We consumers have the power to decide what we want and what we don't want. And I don't want videogames to cost 90€ from now on.

If you will get anyway, you shall see. But it's because of people like you that companies (and goverments) think they can do whatever they want with us, normal people.

Re: Opinion: A Few Too Many Questions & Unwelcome Surprises Are Taking The Shine Off The Switch 2 Reveal

@LXP8 The WiiU was released with New Super Mario Bros U, a game nobody asked for, and nothing new and exciting in the horizon until Mario 3D World was released a year later... Terrible line up.

Here you have within a few months Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4 and, damn, a freaking Pokemon! Besides, this IS a real follow up to the previous console, even the name leave it clear (unless the confussing U with the other one...). And last but not least, the Wii appealed mostly to casuals that didn't care about gaming, nothing to do with the Switch. EVERYONE loved the Switch, until the very end.

Unless there's a huge boycott for the prices, this console will sell like hotcakes.

Nintendo should make a rule to clarify in the cover of the games, with a kind of sticker, the games that use Game Key Cards, with something like: "This game uses a Game Key Card and requires to be fully downloaded". And specify the space needed. That would be a fair move.

In any case, I'm not that bothered about this thing. You just need to have enough space to download the full game, which sucks indeed, but still you're able to sell the game once you're done with it. That's what had me most worried.

Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Wind Waker Is On Switch 2 - Do You Still Want A WW:HD Port?

the_beaver

@Ultimapunch I had the WiiU (not anymore, I sold it to get the Switch), but I didn't bought this game because I always thought it would come to Switch. Same with Twilight Princess. They are so easy and obvious picks to port... Who could have thought they wouldn't port them? It's insane.
So now I can't play the HD games but via emulation. And I HAD the WiiU. It sucks so much lol.

Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Wind Waker Is On Switch 2 - Do You Still Want A WW:HD Port?

@Banjo- What? The WiiU the definitive Nintendo console...? You're joking, right? Hahaha
I had it at the time (I was one of the few ones), and I actually enjoyed it... kind of. But let's admit it, it's the worst Nintendo console ever...

No new Zeldas (until the very end), no Metroids, no Fire Emblems, no Pokemons, no Animal Crossing, no good Mario RPGs, no third party games.
Actually, no games in general. Just a constant, infinite drought.
And the console was very dissapointing too. You couldn't even take it to the toilet... What was the point, then?

No thanks, I don't want to get back to that time. As an experiment was alright, but Switch was insanely better, in every way possible.

Re: 'Switch 2 Editions' Are Supposedly A Switch Game Card And Download Code For The Upgrade Pack

the_beaver

By the way, I don't think many other games from Switch 1 era will ask for money to the updated.

I mean, if you think of it, we'll basically be charged extra for Zelda BotW and TotK. The reason behind it is weird, but I guess Nintendo saw an opportunity to get some extra money considering a lot of people LOVE those games and we really want to play them the best way possible. And they include them in the NSO, increasing the appeal of that service.

But if you see the rest of them, are basically Kirby and Mario Party, which include a DLC (which is the real reason we have to pay for the upgrade, actually), and also Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends ZA, which haven't come out yet, and so we'll need to pay for the upgrade for an obvious reason: otherwise, EVERYONE would get Switch 1 version for a cheaper price, instead of the 80-90 bucks they ask for the Switch 2 version.

If you take a look at the (small so far) list of the games that will be updated for free, we find games such as Mario Odyssey and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. Pretty BIG games. They could have easily charged for them in order to be played in 4K and so, but they haven't.
If they don't charge for a game like Mario Odyssey, I don't think they'll charge for minor games like Pikmin 4, Metroid Dread, Fire Emblem TH, Astral Chain and so. I just don't see it. The rest of the paid upgrades will make much more sense than Zelda BotW and TotK cases, mark my words.

Re: Hands On: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond On Switch 2 Is Staggering

the_beaver

Definitely the game I would buy the Switch 2 for!
...If it wasn't on Switch 1.

I will wait and see what happens with the prices of the games, but I might consider getting the Switch 2 by the time this game launches for the huge visual improvement.
And yes, for Mario Kart and Donkey Kong too.

Re: "DROP THE PRICE!!!" Scream Nintendo Fans During Nintendo's Treehouse Live Broadcast

the_beaver

I totally understand the anger.

It's INSANE that Mario Kart 8 cost 60€ on Switch, and World will cost 90€ on Switch 2. But it's EVEN MORE INSANE that Kirby Forgotten Land cost 60€ on the Switch, and it will cost 90€ on the Switch 2... A game that is now over 3 years old.
We can't afford to spend 90 euros in every videogame. You buy 11 and spend a thousand euros...

I really hope Nintendo backs down here.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

the_beaver

For Europe, this is even worse...

As I said in another post, seriously, how is it possible Mario Kart 8 cost 60€, and Mario Kart World 90€...?? What insanity is that? It's 30€ more expensive... 20€ more than Tears of the Kingdom... 20 euros more! A Mario Kart game!

I'm not getting the Switch 2 day one. Sorry, but Mario Kart will have to wait. And DK too. I will wait and see what happens. This is not normal.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

the_beaver

I would have given it a 10/10... If not for the prices.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?

the_beaver

I'm not going to go crazy with this, and you shouldn't, either.
The BIG part of the Direct will be focused on Metroid Prime 4, as it must be. Apart form that, I'd LOVE to get shadow drops and release dates of Zelda WW and TP, and Metroid Prime 2 and 3.
That's pretty much it, and I'd be really happy with it.

If we also get a remaster of F-Zero GX, I'll die.
