After 10 hours playing the game (I really enjoy exploring and scanning everything), I have probably talked to Myles for like, I don't know, 15 minutes?? And most of it when you meet him. I really don't understand all the hate, the guy is just there, almost like a machine in older Metroid games, telling you where to go next (which happens in EVERY game, even the first Prime), and helping you upgrading some stuff from time to time. That's it.
Why is the Internet so mad at this guy, I wonder?

I haven't got it yet, still waiting for them to release a physical version... Let's hope they do so eventually.
And no, I don't want the cover to be in japanese lol.

@Lizuka Yes, yes, I know. But still, if this runs smoothly and looks great, the chances to have good versions of the next ones are higher.

Curious to see how it will look on Switch 2, so I might try it out even though I've played that part tons of times lol.

Glad to hear we are about to get the AC Shadows version it was meant to be! I plan on getting it very soon, I hope everything is fixed and great by then!

Very nice on them. The Switch 1 version looked a bit rough, but this seems to be great. Now it's the time to get it!

And in the meantime, they can be porting BG3 as well... I'd get it day one!

Metroid Prime 4 is the best way to say goodbye to the Switch 1 and at the same time the best way to say hello to the Switch 2.
What a technical marvel!

@Ooyah REmake is a different kind of experience, but I'd say it's just as good as a game as RE4.
RE4 is better to get into the series, though. The original RE is more... hardcore lol.
Both are fantastic, two of the best games ever made.

@Exerion76 I might be the only one, but I'd LOVE to see an spiritual sequel to Metroid Other M, but better done, of course. That game definitely had potential! It's a mix of 3D and 2D, and, if well done, it could take the series to another level (like Mario 3D World did).

@WheresWaveRace Nintendo does sell well in the UK, but pretty much "casual" games, like Mario and Pokemon...
Actually, having a deep look at the chart, one could think only kids and casual gamers own the console over there... (I know it's not true, but it looks like it).
Metroid is about to go away at this pace, Hyrule Warriors is nowhere to be seen, games like Star Wars and Assassins Creed are selling much worse on the Switch 2 than on PS5 (despite being much more recent),...
That makes me hope Metroid is selling better in other places, to compensate this.

As expected, but a shame anyway. Metroid is a really amazing game, I certainly hope it will sell good enough to at least secure another entry in this awesome series. I don't want to wait 18 years again...

Games like Cronos, DQ VII, REquiem, MH Stories 3, 007 and Pragmata are coming out at the same time.

Guys, GKC is the price to pay in order to have all the big titles the Switch 2 is getting on day one, with no external companies involved (like in the Switch 1 era), and looking almost as good as in the other consoles.

So what do you prefer? GKC or ports that come years later (if ever) and look much worse?

@Clammy Really? If you don't want anything from the list, you either don't like videogames at all or don't want to play them on the system. Because they are A LOT of great games here, for all kind of gamers.

My goodness, so much stuff to look forward to...!! Tons of great third party games (better than ever in a Nintendo console), and we still don't know much about what Nintendo will be releasing.
Imo, Nintendo should release Fire Emblem and Splatoon Raiders in the first half, and then release some heavy hitters by the second half and the end of the year (such as Zelda OoT remake and a new Mario 3D).

How does MH Rise plays on the Switch 2? Do you notice the difference? I wonder if there will be a Switch 2 version in the future... And if we'll be able to upgrade the OG game or not (like Hogwarts and Sonic x Shadows). Uhmm what to do...

If the Devil May Cry games were cheaper, I'd get 1 and 3, but paying 20 bucks for such old games is insane...

I'm getting Megaman 11 though. I played it long time ago and I enjoyed it a lot!

Only focused on Metroid Prime 4, and I'm having a BLAST!!
So far the game is simply amazing. I really really hope it sells well, as this is clearly the foundation of something huge.

The remake looks really amazing, if it finish coming to Switch 2, I'll get it day one!

@contractcooker What what what? You're joking, right? There are so many third party games coming out all the time there's not enough time and money to play it all! Plus the exclusive games, of course...

Only within the first few months of 2026, we've got:
FFVII Remake, DQ VII, RE VII, Village and Requiem, Yakuza 3, Ys X Proud Nordics, Reanimal, MH Stories 3, Mouse PI, 007, Pragmata... And I'm sure I'm missing a few.
And we still don't have release dates for Elden Ring and Indiana Jones, I bet they'll come within the next months as well.

And the Capcom's support is just outstanding. Pragmata and Megaman are very welcome! Also, the last trailer of REquiem has me REALLY hyped.

REquiem on February, MonHun Stories 3 on March, and Pragmata on April... And everything on Switch 2 day one!! Insane.

I certainly hope we will also see Switch 2 versions of other games like Monster Hunter World/Wilds, Devil May Cry V and Onimusha. That'd be great!

Megaman 11 was pretty good, so I'm glad they're releasing this.

However, apart from this, I think Capcom should REALLY considering making a new (or a remake of) Megaman Legends. Having the 2D and the 3D versions of Megaman, ala Nintendo with Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc., would be AMAZING! And Capcom is in a great situation, I bet they would handle it nicely.

Poor sales for Metroid, also in Japan... I'm beggining to think the game won't sell much overall. Which is a shame, as it's a FANTASTIC game, from a fantastic series. I'm enjoying it throughly!
If this one doesn't sell (and apparently it won't), I'm afraid Nintendo will stop making more Metroid games... One of my favorite series. But I would understand it, why would they care, if nobody else does...?

This version not being an 9/10 seems a bit strange... The con (if that's really a con) is not enough reason to lower the score, imo.

Everyone talks about the RDR and Skyrim Switch 2 updates, but what about the TMNT Splintered Fate update? Is it any good?

Fine, I want it, but I'll wait till they fix all the issues and it gets a big price cut.

Black Flag is a game I've always wanted to play, but the original AC gameplay feels too... simple and clunky, not very fun. Even back then it felt like that.
So if this remakster becomes real, I certainly hope it comes to Switch 2! I'd get day for sure.

Call me crazy, but I've never played this game, same as RDR. These Switch 2 versions for free are pretty nice, as they give me more reasons to finally get these classics and give them a go.

As long as the game is in perfect conditions by the time I get it (probably by Spring), it will be fine by me.

Nice, I'll try it out! The sequel was a absolute blast, but I didn't hear great things about the first, until this version.
Now I just hope they release the 60fps update by the time the physical version is out.

I'm patiently waiting for the game to be finished in order to buy it. I'm not in a hurry, if I want another racing games (apart from the eternal Mario Kart 8), there are also Kirby and Sonic out there.

It's been a crazy week indeed! Between Metroid, Assassins Creed, Octopath, Sonic Racing and Marvel CI... Very packed week.

I only got Metroid for now, but I'm actually interested in all of them. I'll be getting them eventually.

That'd be awesome! One of my favorite games on the Switch.
I'd pay happily for a DLC with more content and the couch coop, same as what happened with Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

The system is a solid 9/10, in my opinion. It's pretty much EVERYTHING I could ask for, except for the Key Card situation and the game prices, that have seen an increase...
Other than these little things, the console is a BEAST, and I love everything about it. Following Switch"s strategy was the best Nintendo could do. Hybrid, no gimmicks, very powerful, backwards compatible... Everything we wanted from Nintendo is here.

It's really impressive to see a recent AAA game like this running this good on the Switch 2. And I'm sure it will get even better with some patches, like Star Wars.
It will end up being pretty much the same as the Series S version, which is amazing.

After this, RE9 and 007, it will be clear that, if a game is not announced for the Switch 2, it's because the company doesn't want to, not because the machine is not powerful enough.

@Denoloco You said that the Nintendolife sentence about the Switch 1 not supporting the HDR, unlike the Switch 2, "only applies to the docked experience". And that's NOT true, no matter how you see it, as the Switch 2 screen also supports HDR, even though it's not as great as it could be.

Therefore, you were wrong.

I'm really glad they released it on the OG Switch as well, but honestly, this is a game to fully enjoy on the new hardware.

Nice Nier and this were the last ones I was waiting to get patched! I'm glad all the games are now supported.

Now please, release more Switch 2 editions, even if we have to pay a bit for them. RDR looks amazing in the console.

Already preordered! Even though my expectation have lowered a little bit after the reviews here and there, I'm still looking forward to playing it.
Actually, going with lower expectations could be better, as that affects the way you enjoy things.

Elden Ring is such an amazing game, although I've never played the DLC. I'm definitely getting the Switch 2 version if it's good enough, and playing the whole game again plus the DLC.

@Jhena They're still very unique games. There's nothing like Tomba out there, not even among indies... I still don't understand why.

Fantastic game back in the day! I liked it even more than the first one.
However, I really hope they make a GOOD port this time, and also that they fix the first one... What a mess they're doing with such an amazing series.
