@UpsideDownRowlet Slow start?

-Final Fantasy VII Remake
-Dispatch
-Dragon Quest VII
-Reanimal
-Ys X Proud Nordics
-Yakuza Kiwami 3
-Tales of Berseria
-Resident Evil VII, VIII and IX
-Mario Tennis Fever
-Monster Hunter Stories 3
-Mouse PI For Hire
-Pokemon Pokopia

This is only within the first months, and I'm sure there will be several surprises.
I don't know you, but I'm interested in MANY of them. The RE pack I already preordered, in fact.

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Clings To The Top 40

the_beaver

@XE77 If they stay, they will die.

I definitely prefer them to be released everywhere, at least on PC (same as what Sony does), than see them go away, like F-Zero and Starfox did.
And I believe MP4 would do MUCH BETTER in other consoles/PC. Nintendo fans don't appreciate a game like this.

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Clings To The Top 40

the_beaver

@mctrials23 Honestly, reading comments like yours, I certainly hope Nintendo won't release any other Metroid game. We don't deserve it.

Metroid Prime 4 is a fantastic game, and it feels A LOT like Metroid. I don't know why you say it doesn't.
Sure it's not as perfect as Prime 1 (no game is), but it was great overall. I had fun from the beggining to the end, and I have played EVERY Metroid game in the franchise.

Oh well... Bye bye Metroid Prime. I hope we can at least have another 2D game on the Switch 2, as Dread did quite well.

I repeat what I said in the other article:
It really makes me sad to see all the hate around the amazing Metroid Prime 4... And then you see Pokemon ZA getting so much praise around here. Nintendo fans sometimes are really hard to understand.

If I was Nintendo, I would release the Metroid games in every platform possible. Nintendo fans hardly buy this type of gamers, and not only that, they don't even appreciate what they are.
Actually, I would release everywhere all the IPs that sell less than 3-4 million units. Metroid, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta... They are definitely NOT system sellers and most Nintendo gamers don't care about their existence, so what's the point? That way, more people would enjoy these AWESOME franchises.

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

the_beaver

@DonnieTACO Nintendo haters insulting Prime 4 because they have seen in youtube that there are NPCs (no way!) and a hub (like in Ocarina of Time, OMG!) is utterly ridiculous.

The game not only looks great, but plays amazingly. It's a really FUN game to play. So yes, the gameplay is just as good as the graphics, or even better.
But alas, you actually have to PLAY the game to know that (watching youtubers doesn't count). I'm aware it's a hard thing to ask, though.

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

the_beaver

@Araquanid And I don't know how you went so fast! Haha. I wonder how many hours took you to finish the other Prime games... 10 hours?

According to ingame playtime, it took me more than 18 hours to finish Prime 4. According to the Switch 2 profile records, over 25 hours.

I don't know, I guess I like to take my time with the games I enjoy, and don't rush them.

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

the_beaver

@DangoTown It took me nearly 20 hours to finish, and not even 100%. I don't know where you take that it takes 10 hours to finish it, but it isn't real.
It's about the same lenght that every Metroid Prime game, much more than the 2D ones. If you like Metroid, you will be used to that.

Perhaps you're looking for a real open world game with tons of side tasks to do? Then this isn't for you.

Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?

the_beaver

Just yesterday I finished the game, so I can finally speak about it with knowledge haha.

Myles is fine! I don't understand why there's so much hate around him. Same with the other NPCs, the desert area and the motorbike. They are fun!
Sure, I hope the next game in the series won't have a hub again, as I prefer a more "connected" world (like in the first Primes and the 2D Metroids), but as an experiment, it was pretty fun! They really didn't concern me.

Say what you wish about the world and other changes in Metroid Prime 4, I definitely prefer it to Zelda Skyward Sword lol. And that game got a lot of praise!

Re: Nintendo Switch 2: All Confirmed Games & Release Dates

the_beaver

@LUIGITORNADO So terrible I'm getting 12 games (not all day one, of course) within the first 3 months: Dispatch, FFVII remake, DQVII reimagined, Ys X Proud Nordics, Mario Tennis Fever, Reanimal, RE Generation Pack, Tales of Berseria remaster, MH Stories 3 and Pragmata.

Terrible indeed.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2: All Confirmed Games & Release Dates

the_beaver

It's just CRAZY to me that we have always been complaining about the lack of third party support in Nintendo systems, and now that we FINALLY have the games coming, people forget about them and complain about the lack of first party support (after a fantastic line up in the last months)...

Come on, guys! We are barely starting the year, and we recently have Pokemon Z/A, HW: AoI, Kirby AR and Metroid. Give Nintendo a chance, good games are not done within a few months!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (3rd January)

the_beaver

Well, I just finished Metroid... And what an ending! I didn't expect it.

Very VERY good game. A worthy sequel to the Prime series, the best after the first one, imo. The visuals, audio and gameplay are 10/10, the game is so much fun! A great mix of battles, puzles and platforming. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's definitely worth it.

A solid 9/10 for me. Do not hesitate and go for it, guys!!

Re: Nintendo Switch 2: All Confirmed Games & Release Dates

the_beaver

Among the rumoured games, I'm missing a lot, such as Monster Hunter Wilds, Prince of Persia remake, FFXIV, RDR2, Okami 2 and Baldur's Gate 3.

This is already a fantastic third party lineup, but I can't wait for the February Direct to know about more first party games. Fire Emblem and Splatoon are not enough.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For January & February 2026

the_beaver

Even though REquiem is the only one I know I'll be getting day one, I also will eventually get the Switch 2 versions of Dispatch, FFVII Part 1, DQVII, Ys X, Mario Tennis, Reanimal, REVII, REVIII and Tales of Berseria (and maybe Yakuza 3 by the time I get into that series).

However, we have to keep in mind that in March and April we'll get a few heavy hitters as well, such as Pragmata, 007 and MH Stories 3...

Fantastic first year for the Switch 2.

Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games

the_beaver

@KBuckley27 I understand that, but what it's really funny to me is that it seems we didn't think the same in the Switch 1 era. We welcomed all the WiiU games that came to the Switch, even if they were simple ports with no enhancements at all and at full price, like DK: Tropical Freeze. You couldn't upgrade the one from WiiU, unlike now, you had to pay the game again.
Yet if you check the user rate, it's exactly the same on WiiU and Switch.
Pure nonsense.

Re: ICYMI: My Nintendo Adds Printable Metroid Prime 4 Box Art Cover, Databook Now Also Available In English

the_beaver

@molkom I'm very close to the end, and I'm loving it! The desert is even fun. Sure it's too big (I don't know why), but it's easy to move around, there are some interesting secrets around, and it's fun to go really fast with the motorbike.
The NPCs are also fine, most of the time Samus is on her own, and they barely help you, as others have said before (at least it didn't happen to me). Sure they show you in the map where to go next, but that also happened in the previous entries.
It's a really good game imo, just don't expect it to be that much of a metroidvania. It's not Metroid Prime 1.

Re: ICYMI: My Nintendo Adds Printable Metroid Prime 4 Box Art Cover, Databook Now Also Available In English

the_beaver

Awesome game, definitely one of the best ones this year.
I understand the complaints, it's not be the best metroidvania game, but it's very deep and a lot of fun! Great mix of exploration, platforming, puzles and battles. if it wasn't called Metroid, I bet everyone would be praising it.
It's also a fantastic starting point for a potential new trilogy. I hope it sells well so that we see that happen!

Re: Opinion: I Reviewed 25 Switch 2 Games In 2025, And These Are My Top 3 Picks

the_beaver

I just got HW: AoI as a Christmas gift, so I can't wait to play it! Last time I played one in the series was the first HW on the WiiU, and it was a lot of fun. I skipped AoC for not being canon, but this one I know I'll enjoy it.

For now though, all my spare time goes to the fantastic Metroid Prime 4. What an awesome game!

Happy new year everyone!

Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games

the_beaver

Why in the world most Switch 2 games have such low scores...? Are people boicotting the system by scoring every game with 1/10 or something? What's the point?
A LOT of games from here deserve a 9/10 or similar, and just a few managed to get it... Nonsense.
