Metroid finally! ...but if this was released as a VC game months ago I wouldn't have hesitated putting down money to be able to play it ANY time. I'm going to be sad when they pull this game out of the Switch Online lineup...
I loooove this game. This is the first time I've played this type of game and it's taking up nearly all of my gaming time. My second fave games are Pokemon Go and Destiny 2. Both of those are on the backburner due to this game. I love the artwork. At first I balked at all the currency and different stats but that's what makes it engaging--I can focus on grinding my EXP, get bored of that then work on weapons next or on unlocking abilities. Yes it's like a store disguised as a game but it's easy to get by without spending any real money. Just last night, the director of the game gave every player some free goods after updating on things that they hope to improve on the game. The developers really seem to care about the player's opinions and it makes sense--it makes any investment that I make on the game with time or money meaningful. Now I wish we can see Dragalia Lost on the Switch or the cool characters in other games.
I'm thoroughly hooked!!! The current event has a raid where four players have their characters take down a boss. It's crazy fun watching 16 characters go at it on a big volcanic dragon. I happily spent money on it after I found myself really enjoying all the different tasks. Even if I eventually quit playing months from now, I've really had a blast. Halloween event starts in 5 days!!!
Meh...I gladly payed the price but if they are hoping for a Netflix or Apple Music level of $9.99 a month it's never going to happen with nostalgic videogames and at a trickle! Just give us an option to buy games and we'll show you the money,
I happily paid for the online fee but I was slightly bummed I couldn't play my favorite: Metroid. It really sucks to have to wait until November. Boo Nintendo. Games aren't like Netflix films. Sometimes we want to be able to play them ANY time.
I WOULD BE IN HEAVEN! I don't mind spending money on the games after buying a ton of them on my 3DS and Wii. Please give us this option Nintendo! I don't mind owning music and movies and that applies to games. Please give us that choice!
Ugh...Streaming services like Netflix or Spotify are fine since we have the option to buy copies of movies/songs that we can own and enjoy without any internet connection. It's going to suck if Nintendo decides to put their subscription game offerings in rotation. What if I feel like playing Metroid six months from now but the game gets pulled out of rotation? Now if they dumped tons of games on there with the promise of never rotating them out I MIGHT bite.
This is terrible if it requires an internet to play even the one player game. What if I wanted to enjoy it somewhere where there's no wi-fi? The only advantage is for Nintendo with the subscription fees and anti-piracy protection. Meh.
I've always thought it would be cool if we can play Pokemon Go on the Switch. Probably not the actual game since that requires being online via a cell service but some kind of app where we can log in with our Pokemon Go account and do stuff via wi-fi or the Nintendo online service.
Good to see Fortnite on that list since it's already on mobile devices! It would be cool if we can log in with our accounts from the other versions (I'm on the PS4 and iOS).
Come on Konami, dump the Castlevania series onto the Switch (it blows my mind imagining Symphony of the Night and it's sequel on the Switch)! Since that's not happening for a long long long long time, Bloodstained is getting $9.99 out of my wallet pronto.
This game will bring kids and families into the Switch scene. You know on Christmas Day when families go to other houses to hang out?...all the kids will be playing their new Switches and going nuts over the game. Great times ahead for Nintendo for sure!
Not bothered anymore--time is precious with all the options out there. If I don't have the option of playing a certain NES game I'll play a cool PS1 game instead or watch a good movie. Nintendo wants a piece of the pie but they also want to dictate when and how to eat the pie. At that point, we eat donuts from someone else instead.
Maybe Nintendo is trying to push/protect their "family friendly" image here? Netflix shows can be pretty violent with plenty of profanity--not a good fit for the wholesome Mario/Nintendo crew?
Companies should never announce stuff too far in advance. Imagine if they announced right now that Netflix will come to the Switch in June. Someone on the fence and not in a rush for a Switch might hear of that announcement and decide to wait until around June to get a Switch.
Yikes it looks like they showed mainly cutscenes. What's more revealing is that this might be what the live action movie will be like? I wish it was headed for the Switch, also--the 3D work looks Switch-ready.
You can download it and link your Nintendo Account but you'll get a communication error every time you try to start playing it [San Diego, California]. Um...maybe it's actually starting on the 22nd...
Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age! I'm enjoying it on my PS4 but I really wish I could play it on the go. Plus, the Switch could probably handle it pretty easily.
I'm excited for this and any Nintendo arcade game released. In my opinion, the arcade version was superior to the NES version. Bring them on Nintendo!!!
I'm beyond excited for the arcade versions! Even when the NES was around, the arcade versions had more color and cooler sounds. I'm getting every one of them as they come out.
I LOVE that we get snails even if your team loses as long as we rank up. I was terrified that losing would mean zero snails but I still got 21 (Inivisibility King rank)
Meh...just give us the Seiken collection. Methinks Square believes only kids play the Switch so they're tossing us the cute Final Fantasy XV Pocket Mobile game.
I looove Spinmaster--I've been looking forward to more of the NeoGeo sidescrollers to come out (there seems to be a lot of focus on the fighting and shoot-em-ups). Sidescrollers were great because the stages would have cool backgrounds and enemies. I miss games like Joe and Mac, Adventure Island, etc.
I'm absolutely against this. This gives Nintendo no incentive to properly release SNES titles as Virtual Console options on the Switch. I hate how they can keep re-releasing this for decades by playing with supply and demand. I really want to play games like Super Metroid--not play games like waiting in long lines or hunting down over-priced options online. This is why they haven't said anything about the Virtual Console options on the Switch. They will release this baby to much fanfare in 2017, sell it out, and when the dust settles, all of the titles (SNES and NES) will magically be available Summer 2018 on the Switch via subscription or individual sales--pleasing Nintendo shareholders.
Everyone will be wearing Mario hats at raves in 2018. Heck Mario hats will be a "thing" in pop culture soon. Congrats Nintendo for giving us something new (finally) with Mario!
Directs should be used for all new games. I should have stayed in bed. I think they only showed 3 seconds of new gameplay. It was like watching a trailer for a movie that's already been released.
Great review... I really really wish they would post video previews of the NEO GEO games in the Switch E-shop. You really need to see these games in action to appreciate the great gameplay they had for their time.
@gatorboi352 Ha ha I'm a self-employed graphic artist/illustrator. I usually work at coffee shops. My boss let's me play my Switch whenever I want as long as I make my deadlines. (self-employed....)
My Switch is kicking my PS4's ass--I have no time in my schedule to play games at home but I find plenty of time while working to pull out my Switch and enjoy instant portable gaming for short blocks of time.

Re: Photorealistic Graphics Didn't Match Welcoming Nature Of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee
I can't wait to play it but I'm ready for a presentation on the level of trip to Legoland (pre-school vibes)
Re: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Will Feature "Master Trainers" After The Main Story
I'm hoping to enjoy the game for the graphics and music. I'll reserve judgement on the hard stuff when the real Pokemon game comes out in 2019.
Re: It Turns Out Blizzard Won't Actually Be Adding Cross-Platform Play To Diablo III
I'm fine with Diablo 3 not having cross play since it's great title already. Cross Play is something we should push for in new games like Fortnite

Re: Phantasy Star Joins The Sega AGES Range In Japan Next Month, New Features Revealed
What an amazing to play when it first came out--my mind was blown when I found out you can find hidden doors by rotating in the hallways.
I really hope they bring it to the west...so I can find those crazy hidden doors again.
Re: The First Two Sega AGES Titles Are Launching On Switch Next Month
i have very fond memories of playing the first Phantasy Star games. I cannot wait to see and hear them again.

I predict it will be a hybrid game that you can get on the 3ds and the switch. They obviously are in no rush to abandon the 2ds/3ds.
