Get your arcade sticks ready, because the Mega Man collections were just the beginning: Capcom will bring Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection onto the Nintendo Switch in May 2018!
This compilation will contain no less that twelve arcade perfect ports of the series as follows:
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter II
- Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
- Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
- Super Street Fighter II
- Super Street Fighter II: Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Street Fighter III
- Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact
- Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Notice that in the case of Street Fighter III this will be the very first time the game will be available on a Nintendo console. Besides the games there will be extras features like concept art and sprite viewers with online play added for the four definitive entries in each of the sub-series (Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike). You can check out the announcement trailer below.
Truly big a step up from Capcom's previous Switch offering. Will you take on the mean streets again next May? On a personal side note, this humble NL retro contributor is really happy to have previously invested on one of these. No way the JoyCon would be able to handle the kind of punishment needed to pull off some of those special moves beyond the Alpha series.

Third Strike on the Switch is the best decision Capcom has ever made
Awwww hell yeah!
Yes please
Woohoo! Day one! Now this is how it should be Capcom. No weird ambiguity or begging from fans. Thank you!
Yes, Capcom, yes. This is good.
I kinda don't want to buy this after spending 30 odd pound on Ultra SF2 less than half a year ago.............but Third Strike!!!!
This is a truly fantastic bargain, and it'll be nice to get a version of my favorite SF with online play. Sold!
Also can’t wait to buy Street Fighter 2 for the FIFTH time!
Well, this is the one to get!
Now if only Capcom would release something like Vampire Chronicle but for Street Fighter. Where players can choose which version of the characters they want to play according to which game's rules to follow, then that would be freakin' insane!
How about Resident Evil 7, Omani, and Monster Hunter Double cross?
I suck at fighting games that aren’t Smash or Arms, but we’ve still had some fun on Street fighter in the past.... that being said, gameplay wise, aren’t they all pretty much the same thing? Maybe I just don’t get the fighting game thing so well. To me they’ve always felt like $20 games or so at most (even back in the SNES days) not $50 or $60
Good thing I didn't buy the street fighter for switch... So this will be I'm guessing full price 63 usd I'll buy it. All these games on 1 cart for 63 bucks worth it.
When I was watching the trailer, I was "Please,please, please put it on Switch!" the whole time... then that Switch box-art came up and now I can sleep happy.
Awesome! Finally Capcomis making great compilations again!
On another note, I want that Disney’s Afternoon Collection
@Whopper744 The SF3 series adds multiple supers and parries, while Alpha 3 has the V-ism system. Many added systems and mechanics to each new installment
Bring Monster Hunter Double Generations to the Switch and it will truly be a Merry Christmas!
@JoyconGang It's $40 USD.
@JoyconGang Correct this will be 40$ actually, the same as the Street Fighter released earlier this year................
All these games + online support. Definite buy, but I may wait a bit as I got USF2 the final challengers earlier this year.
While Nintendo is company of the year and arguably comeback company of the year... Capcom is making their push. This is amazing. I think I may finally try my hand at this series while I'm only a casual fan of fighting games.
@Malcrash I am admittingly ignorant of these stuff. I guess it’s things you’d notice if you really get into it.
@Malcrash No, putting 19 Mega Man games on the Switch was the best idea they've made in recent memory.
@fox_mattcloud Sell USFII and put that money towards this if you feel that way. That's what I'm doing. Thankfully, I bought it recently and haven't opened it yet so I'm going to take it back tomorrow.
@Knighty_IX Plus, 3rd Strike has online play!
@19wonders Mega Man X's 5-8 are in there, which is kinda a detriment, but it's close compared to adding in the original Street Fighter in this collection.
This is 1 I might actually pick up........not a fighter fan in general but having them all on a cartridge would be fun......even for a non fighter gamer like me
I'm taking back USFII. Who's with me?
@Malcrash Yeah, but 19 Mega Man games on the go isn't a bad deal.
Honestly disappointed Capcom didn't put Street Fighter IV on here.
I just got Street Fighter V, but I will get this collection on the PS4 as well since I enjoyed the Street Fighter II and Alpha games.
About the only thing I don't care for is Street Fighter III. But the Alpha and II games more then make up for it.
One thing that is a shame is that the non-Super versions of Street Fighter II lack online play.
Seriously, all I want from Capcom now is Resident Evil 4, Okami HD, the Disney Afternoon Collection, and the recently announced Devil May Cry HD Collection on the Switch and I'm set! They could also bring over Monster Hunter XX (or call it Generations Ultimate) while they're at it. I know a lot of people who want that.
@Caryslan Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting has online play, though.
ALPHA 3 ??!!
3RD STRIKE ??!!
YAAAAYY.....!!!!
I'm 100% getting this!
Nintendo need to release a D-Pad joycon. Leaving money on the table.
I'm thinking Ultimate Street Fighter II will receive a steep price drop in the eShop... this is a great compilation, but I must admit I love the HD visuals in USF2.
Welcome back CAPCOM! This now totally makes up for the lack of Street Fighter for the last four console generations. Hopefully unlockable goodies like Hyper Street Fighter II, Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, and Hyper Street Fighter Alpha were also included as well since they were all on past Street Fighter compilations. Maybe throw in some Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Super Gem Fighters: Mini Mix (Pocket Fighter) in there too for good measures.
Really...this is a step up... I'll pass.
@Folkloner Yeah, but at least it's still available on the 3DS.
@Fuz The problem with USFII was that it was $40. It's not a bad game, just poorly priced. If it was like $20 or $25, no one would have batted an eye.
This is a pretty awesome collection. All on one cart and on the go? Sign me up.
My body is ready... But I kinda wish they also added the other little known street fighter related arcade games to the mix, Final Fight and Slam Masters. But this is certainly a nice way for Capcom to redeem themselves. Disney Collection next?
Fighting games aren't my thing, but this is great news for fighting game fans. I'm going to be curious what the attach rates are for the various platforms.
Oh my freaking gosh. I'm literally just going to buy this for SF3 lol. I'm so hyped now.
@MagnaRoader @masterLEON They should make puzzle fighter unlockable lol.
This collection will be the fulfillment of a longtime dream of mine. Since I played SF II: Champion Edition at a convenience store almost 26 years ago, I've wanted to own an arcade machine of it... Or an arcade-perfect version on a console. I thought SF Collection 2 on PlayStation would satisfy that need, but there were some differences from the arcade SF II versions. Now, this coming May, one of my gaming bucket list entries will be crossed off! So will a second entry, owning SF III: New Generation & Second Impact (the latter I've never played)!
With this and Mega Man's rebirth, Capcom is CAPCOM again in my book. Nintendo OWNED 2017. Capcom looks primed to own 2018!
May, why are you so damn far away? 😒
@Folkloner
Maybe SF IV for Switch will be next after This compilation.
Beside, the "watered down" version of SF IV has been released on 3DS, though.
@NinjaWaddleDee
Puzzle Fighter + Pocket Fighter = Another Dream Comes True for Switch owner.
@IceClimbers Dang. That's a great price for 12 games...
Looks like we won't see the "screw you Capcom" or "Capcom betrayed us" in this comment section
Capcom seems to be stepping up so far. Although I am really disappointed that Alpha3MAX isnt in here since I really like what they added in that game, is the fact that it was a PSP game the issue here?
Im probably asking for too much but can we get a Darkstalkers and Marvel vs Capcom 1+2 collection later down the road plz?
Also I hope the step ups that Capcom is pulling off actually sell well because that would really suck...
I need a switch now!
Day one for me, no matter the price. This is exactly what I wanted from capcom. FINALLY arcade perfect ports of all the alphas, plus SF3 in a nintendo console. Best news ever, this year keeps getting more awesome!
@JoyconGang it’s confirmed for $40
I hope they include Lite Controls for people who prefer the D-pad
@19wonders I put at least 30 hrs into my copy. The people who picked it up are likely why this isn’t skipping the switch.
I hope they leave little quirks to each title intact, like Chun-Li's orange character select Sprite in original SF II! 😃
As cool as this sounds, I now feel like I shouldn't have bought Ultra Street Fighter II. It just makes it look that much more like overpriced retail fodder.
@Whopper744 each of the 4 definitive versions is an entirely different game in terms of mechanics, that just happens to include similar characters. Being able to play all 4 of them off a single cartridge/game is really valuable for those of us who few up playing each iteration. And this does not include the EX series, which is also a different type of SF I’d love to play again, but the made the best choice to have all sprite games in this collection.
@RyanSilberman if it makes you feel any better, your purchase of Ultra possibly helped get this made, so thank you!
A definite purchase. Some of these I've never played, notable the original SF, through Alpha series or SF3. I'll also finally play SF again using a proper d-pad of the Nintendo pro controller, not the rubbish Playstation d-pad. I can barely last 10 minutes on those before my thumb aches.
@nab1 What about Street Fighter? Is there any point in playing Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter II, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter III, and Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact?
Alpha 3 and Third Strike with online play?
SOLD!
@Ardisan i like the way you think, but I’d expand that next list to include all marvel CPS2/3 games, like children of the atom and X-men vs SF. If they’re putting even the original SF2 here (which IMO one would only play for nostalgia) I see no reason why the next collection would skip any of the older games.
@NinNin if you mean SF1, I think that games is better left in history. It’s just too old and not really fun. The series really started with SF2, and personally I wouldn’t play it over the next iterations.
Glad I held out on buying that overpriced port. Looking forward to this.
@nab1 speak for yourself. I’m excited about playing an arcade perfect port of that game as opposed to the crappy turbo 16 version
I've never played a Street Fighter game, and I've been kind of on the fence about II for Switch, because I've heard V isn't great. However, this might just be the perfect time to get into the series.
Sold sold sold sold SOLD. I need this in my life!
@faint @nab1 I'm quite looking forward to playing the original SF. My only experience with it was on the ZX Spectrum 128k +2.You can imagine how bad that looked and played yet funnily enough I loved it. Loved beating up the English punk.
https://youtu.be/KL3uJVoHmig
Hell Yeah! Haven't been excited since the PS3 Super Street Fighter release.
Beats dem Beats dem Beats
faints
Wait for real? Make your first move, so what’s it gonna be?
faints again
Thank you Capcom... can we have ultra IV too?
faints again...send help
I’ll probably get this on PS4. I like the idea that you can play this anywhere, but when it comes to fighting games I gotta have my arcade stick.
all need to know is how much it will cost.
"That's great news general, congratulations! "
@edgedino
$40.
When I told capcom to up their game I didn't think they'ed listen to me!!!!????
Wow thank you everyone for confirming 40 dollar price. Like I said before I was going to buy it at 63 bucks but for 40 man all them sfs for 40 is a steal
Btw for everyone who didn't spend money to buy the skull co switch grip or did t want to wait for it to be sent out then buy a meo switch grip from Amazon for 20 bucks. It's like a imitation skull co except it doesn't come with 2 different sized grips just 4 grips with different colors but it's the best switch grip for HANDHELD mode
@MagnaRoader @19wonders @Whopper744 amen! We want Disney Afternoon Collection! Please Capcom!
I still say Ultra Street Fighter II is the most underrated title on the Switch, and one of the best too.
The new assets and HD graphics make it feel more like a current generation game. And honestly, it's better than most current gen fighters as well.
So yes, I'm thrilled to get this, but it's going to be hard to play these games after experiencing the beautiful, gorgeous graphics of USFII.
THIRD STRIKE ON THE GO. THAT'S INSANE.
Ultra Street Fighter II is more of a joke now than ever. Glad I didn't get it.
Ultra SF2 shouldn't even have made... I guess that game is to test how well it sold on the Switch but they should've done this at the start. Anyway I'm not mad since I've never bought USF2 but I'm Glad to know Capcom is putting their beloved classics as bundles instead of single packed games. I'll be sure to get this
Too much Street Fighter II. More like 6 or 7 games...
Btw, where is sligeach eire ?
Usually he pops up on thread like this and complains about Ports as usual.
@KryptoKrunch oh good it might be worth getting then.
Pretty sure this is the first time the original street fighter was re-released outside arcades
Damn Capcom- lots of big Switch announcements these days!! But being they are ports/collections of old games, why are they 6-12 months away? Also Disney Collection, RE 4 and Capcom Arcade Cabinet?!? Maybe a 16-bit Disney Collection?? 😃
I guess Switch owners passed Capcom's "test" by buying enough copies of USF2?
@YoshiPilot Street Fighter was part of the Capcom Classics Collection Remixed on PSP. Found my copy at Goodwill for pretty cheap.
@joey302 Don't forget Okami HD. It's not like it would be unprecedented. It's coming to PS4 very soon and the Wii got an excellent port of Okami back in the day. Also, I wouldn't mind having that recently announced Devil May Cry HD Collection that is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One.
I'm so happy to see so many of you folks so excited about this. Sure, to me it's "here's an impossibly elitist game that forces you to look online to figure out the move set and even then most of the time down+qcr+a doesn't do anything except make you look like an idiot and you will die crying and alone. Oh, and here are 11 other versions that are fundamentally the same game with tweaks so small you would never be able to tell the difference. Stick to racing games you poser freak!"
But I am absolutely giddy that so many people are excited, and more Capcom love is always a good thing =D
Ultra Street Fighter II is enough for me: modernish cartoon graphics, sounds, and music as well as the option to play in 16 bit mode.
Beat the game with every character after mastering their move sets, beat the hardest difficulty with Ryu, and really enjoy buddy battle. I've played it through at least a hundred times and still pick it up when I have any spare time or to kick off an arcade gaming binge.
Hope other people enjoy this, but I'm perfectly happy with USFII.
I also own a lot of these on their original systems and emulators if I want to revisit them.
Awesome! Excellent collection. Capcom was smart to include this on Switch.
Ok Nintendo Life are you going to cover the rumor that Capcom has been or is working on Monster Hunter Portable the 5th for Switch?
Sold, whenever it’s on sale.
Wow, I'm surprised they included the original. 40 dollars too... I guess the games offered are pretty samey, but still, go Capcom.
@OGGamer
That rumor has been around since the leak of the new 5th generation MH game coming to PS4.
Is there a new information or...?
I mean, we all know they're going to make a game for Switch. It's clear as day they panicked and rushed to bring MHXX over soon as they saw Switch blowing up, in an effort to start planting seeds and building a future fanbase for when a new entry does come. They're not stupid. They won't abandon the portable market that guarantees 4 million sales per release. A new game for Switch is all but guaranteed.
But I haven't heard any new information on that. Right now they have a game they're focusing on, and it'll be at least a year after that before we hear anything official for the next portable game (barring a localization of MHXX)
This ought to make retro fighting game fans happy.
This rocks. I love you Capcom.
@Shiryu I literally did a Tiger Woods style fist pump and hollered “Yes!” when the end screen showed the Switch case. And I’m at work haha
Another good collection that I'll be getting on day one. Hopefully this and the Mega Man news are signs that Capcom has finally pulled its head out regarding Switch support.
Capcom is really on a roll here.
This the arcade versions, yes? Didn’t each of the Alpha games get extra characters added to the console ports?
Still, awesome news, and nice to finally get a version of SF3 on a Nintendo machine at long last.
@YoshiPilot The TurboGrafix port Fighting Street was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console
Good work Capcom!
Lastly, anyone else suspect that this and the Mega Man Collections are due to Nintendo letting Capcom know that then Virtual Console concept is dead, so they can’t just milk us for all these games individually again like they have over the last 10 years?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSGW7CwD5GM
Sorry if my only comment in threads for the next few days is me muttering 'third strike' to myself.
Yesssssssssssssssssssss bravo Capcom.....again. Its nice to be able to say that. Now lets get Bionic Commando back out the box and a HD Final Fight
Capcom doing a bad version of the song ‘12 days of Christmas’.
19 Mega Mans,
12 Street Fighters,
7 Ace Attorneys,
2 Resident Evils,
But no Western Monster Hunter Yet.
@Alikan Its a fantastic game for sure.
Nooooway! 3rd strike is my favorite! Man what is happening at capcom haha they keep surprising me. First megaman now street fighter.
Personally not a fan of the series, but I still think this is pretty awesome! Hey, Capcom! Since you're busy with porting a bunch a games, maybe put Okami and Viewtiful Joe on Switch while you're at it?
The original, the Alphas and 3rd Strike ... I keep swearing off fighters, but I might get this!
Can't wait to dive into that concept art! Over the moon at this announcement!
@gaga64 Unrelated mate. This isn't the first collection.of a series with extras to be released. Jeez you should be celebrating its coming to Nintendo too not moaning about a service still scheduled for next year. Sort it out lol!
I’ll definitely be buying this. I’ve only played Alpha 3 on the Gameboy Advance so will be great to see this on the big screen as intended. I’d love to see a Mortal Kombat equivalent collection.
Anyone wanna bet whether Europe gets a physical version or digital only?
@gb_nes_gamer and graphics as they were meant to. GBA could never deliver arcade perfect port that's for sure. You're in for a treat
Not too excited about this.
Sooo, releasing Streetfighter 2 Alpha earlier on Switch was pointless? And where the bleep are Streetfighter 4 and 5?! Of course no game-card in Europe/America?
Wow! And I was just playing USFII last night on Switch as well! As happy as I am, doesn't this kind of make USFII slightly irrelevant?
I'd rather have this than the HD Street Fighter they released.
Any news on price ? I don’t care it’s worth it for third strike alone it’s the reason I have held on to my dreamcast for all these years
As far as sf 2 and 3 are concerned why are we getting all the variations when all you really need is SSF2 Turbo and SF3 3rd strike? The last iterations fixed all the issues of prior releases and are the definitive versions. Why not take that space up with extras like the PS2 SF anniversary collection and alpha collections (SF2 animated movie, art galleries, how to videos etc).
the real question is: will there also be only one title actually on the card, while the other 11 are downloads?
@adh56 Hope you screamed SHORYUKEN!
This is great news! I asked for a port of one of these games in an article a few weeks back, and here we get 12!
Are there any fighting sticks out there that you can use on both the PS4 and the Switch?
@Shiryu Perhaps you could make a feature: What are the best controllers for fighting games on Switch?
@Gs69 it's $40
More Street Fighter! No thanks, I'd rather play Arms, the new BlazBlue or the upcoming Blade Strangers. I'd rather see from Capcom a new Dalkstalkers then then more old Street Fighter games.
@Sinton There is but one choice:
The 8bitdo N30 Arcade Stick not only works on Switch and Android via Bluetooth it also works wired to PC making sure it has seen a huge amount of usage due to my regular need to consume short, intense burst of shmup action.
@Shiryu Is that the only arcade stick available on Switch, or is it the only one worth getting?
And how about regular controllers? Are the Pro Controller or the Joy-Con (with or without grip) viable options?
@Sinton AFAIK it is the only one, so good thing it is build of pure quality. The Pro Controller will do fine, but the Joycons not so much... I have a feeling they would fall apart in my hand playing SF Alpha or Third Strike.
Oh wow I miss a bullet! I was looking into buying Ultra SF II yesterday but I looked at the price and thought to hold on a little bit longer and see if a price drop happen and now this news hit. Thank God I didn't buy it cause otherwise I would have been smashing my head right now.
I'll be supporting this for sure.
@Shiryu Perhaps I should give it a go, then!
@Sinton Solid investment I assure.
This is an excellent selection of games. But will it have good emulation? Nearly all collections I played either have odd querks and bugs there and there or horrible emulation. disabled rain effects and scratchy sound effects on those SNK Wii collections for example.
Unimpressive, this is basically a VC release with a tacked-on online mode.
I'd buy it if the price was right though. But this being Capcom, they'll probably demand a rip-off price.
@GrailUK not moaning, just suspicious. For the last couple of generations Capcom have avoided most compilations on Nintendo consoles, instead opting for individual VC releases (Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 aside). Now they’re changing tack.
I’m excited for it, and more likely to buy these as I like the convenience, just suspicious.
Third Strike...drools...I loved it on the Dreamcast.
I just need a decent 6 button pad to play those games with.
@gaga64 Yeah, but that’s not an arcade-perfect port
This ois something I will buy for 50/60 euro capcom. Keep the announcements coming
@Nomad
Blazblu is the one with characters from rwby right?
I might buy this looks great!
I might buy this looks great!
I only bought SF2 only once on Wii U VC,so I can't wait to have the arcade version along with SF3 finally on a Nintendo console(and portable for the first time too).
@Anti-Matter believe it or not he has actually bought a Switch, Odyssey and Kingdom Battle, he's probably too busy playing and having fun I hope. He got it on Cyber Monday
@19wonders true and I agree!! Bring em all over!!
3rd Strike, Alpha 3 & Super SF2 Turbo & everything else in between as you can tell by my profile pic i'm in heaven OMG. Revelations is doing well in the eshop as well 4th in the charts in the uk. Please Capcom just need Re4, Re5, ,The Remake & ReZero, SF4,The Powerstone collection, Okami HD, Final Fight & Ghouls & Ghosts, Devil May Cry collection, pretty please your biggest fan from the Snes days. The Last Blade is out next week as well for £6 on the eshop, with animation similar to 3rd Strike but with weapons a true Gem people im so hyped
@gaga64 doubtful, otherwise the mountain of Neo Geo games, Psyko arcade games, Nintendo arcade games, and others wouldn't be coming out. Capcom could've done them all individually, but decided that'd be a bad move when releasing this collection for Xbox one and PS4.
this just makes the recent street fighter 2 release look massively overpriced! those who bought that probably feel ripped off.
I would of preferred alpha 2 to have online play than alpha 3
Get lost CAPCOM. Bring something decent to the Switch or don't bother at all. This is just another insult in a line of pointless games they're putting on the system. How about Resident evil 7? Okami HD? Monster Hunter??I'm sure there's a few I've missed too. This along with the Megaman announcements recently,shows they're just interested in releasing their own virtual console on the Switch of old games,oh and at full retail prices too?!
There’s also this alternatively, if u like being broke. I think I like the 8bitdo one better though.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N4P40LG/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1512998484&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=nintendo+switch+arcade+stick&dpPl=1&dpID=41y-a5kgTRL&ref=plSrch
Celebrating 30 years of Street Fighter with the first 10 years of Street Fighter...
Surely SF4 could had made an apperance?
@lemonjellydude I don’t. I had wanted that HD game ever since I saw it, but I didn’t want to buy a whole console just to get it. USFII is cheaper than buyin a PS3. And were it not for the good sales of USFII on Switch, we prob wouldn’t get this collection. Soooo you’re welcome?
Street Fighter Alpha 3!!! Woohoo!!!
Cool 3rd strike and alpha 3 in one cool
Do we think that the Disney Afternoon Collection is coming?
Suddenly USF2 just became a paperweight.... Could've wished that USF2 was included in there as well along with a price drop on that game...
Street fighter collection on the Switch...$40!?! INSANE! I'm not THAT much of a SF fan but with that price I'm getting on this day 1!
I may have my revenge on Gill, after all.
I just want Okami and the Disney Collection, please.
After 20, 19 & 18 years Street Fighter III: New Generation, Street Fighter III: 2ND Impact Giant Attack and Street Fighter III:Third Strike Fight for the Future finally gets released on a Nintendo console.....This year was also Rival Schools 20th anniversary.....I want Rival Schools Evolution 2 and Street Fighter II: the ANIMATED movie the game.
I'm really hoping these releases are building up to Capcom releasing SF4 on Switch.
@Shiryu The line-up doesn`t include Street Fighter II: the Animated Movie the game, which you didn`t mention which never re-released in the UK........still GREAT news particularly for the Nintendo Switch if just for Street Fighter III: Third Strike.... I`m wishing for the obscure.
@Ardisan hyped for marvel vs capcom, maybe even snk Vs capcom... Actually any Vs games from capcom would be welcome.
@James1993 hidden 13th game:
Great news, but it's going to be a bit difficult to play them with Switch's no-pad, though.
yeah its a good point, its mainly the fact that £30 for 1 game seems very expensive when your then offered 12 games for not much more but yes without the ultra release we probably wouldn't get this. I definitely wouldn't bother now this collection is being released unless it had massive price drop @audiobrainiac
@PlayedNSlayed How are the Mega Man, X, and Street Fighter games not decent? I understand people are still upset about Monster Hunter, but it looks like Capcom is boosting their support of the Switch.
A Monster Hunter game will arrive on the Switch at some point. It has too much of a fanbase on Nintendo platforms for Capcom just to ignore.
Plus, I see this as Capcom trying to repair some damage when they did not bring the Legacy Collection 2 and Disney Afternoon Collection to the 3DS, Wii U or Switch.
Would you rather not see these games come out on the Switch at all?
This is insane. Keep ‘em coming Capcom.
Glad I was waiting for a price drop of USFII now.
Also I’m really happy Switch has cross platform play as surely not all 12 games will be that busy.
This is fantastic, was disappointed when these games didn't come to the Wii U, great to see that they are now making their way to the Switch. Spoiled for choice now with all the SNK stuff too.
Would really love too see the Marvel vs Capcom and Capcom vs SNK games getting released too, maybe I'm just getting greedy now but if they release it i will buy it
@PlayedNSlayed So a collection of Street Fighter games (some of which isn't a downgraded port i.e. Alpha games, also some of which is seeing a release on an Nintendo console for the first time i.e. SF3 games) with online along with extra bells and whistles all in a $40 package doesn't excite you in the least?
So those who have bought THAT Street Fighter are now (treated like) idiots?
Well this collection is truly appetizing, unmissable.
Ghaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Yes! I feel like Marvel vs Capcom might be a possibility now. Please I want that game so bad!
@Galactus_33 yeah MVC 1 and 2 on a cartridge with some extra content would be an easy buy.
@PlayedNSlayed
Hey, at least i can play Alpha series, III series on NINTENDO SWITCH, long time for waiting !
Kudos to Capcom to put 12 STREET FIGHTER Games in One Cartridge !
@Captain_Toad
Btw, how the Heck i unlock Gill in SF III 3rd Strike ??
I still couldn't unlock Gill from 3rd Strike PS2 version !
@Anti-Matter Don't know, only played Third Strike only a few times at college lunchrooms.
@Shiryu Would be a joke since it DID come to the UK and the rest of the world furthermore the company that actually produced the above atrocity.....no abysmal atrocity etc... was called "INCREDIBLE TECHNOLOGIES" haha.......
I just wish......Red Earth......Shiritsu Justice Gakuen: Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2........... Street Fighter II Anime game........ PLEASE CAPCOM.
It's almost hard to believe this is actually happening, stuck patiently with the Wii U in the hope that these games would come to the E shop only to be frustrated, now everything is getting released all at once. The retro catalogue is just getting better and better on the Switch, it's been worth the wait and long may it continue.
@Captain_Toad No I was done with Street Fighter long ago and played them to death. SFIITurbo is my favorite of the franchise and was probably my most played game on the SNES. Also downloaded them on Wii and then WiiU. The question should be,why are CAPCOM content with giving the Switch just ports of old games? And not even ones that make sense like Okami HD for example. For what reason would they have to leave the Switch out of that release?Everyone calls out EA (and rightly so.I really dislike them just like most people) for giving nothing but ports and making no effort with the Switch and Capcom aren't making any great effort either when you look at what they're offering other platforms
It's cool and all, but I think it really should have included SFIV at a minimum. Would have been awesome if a port of V was also included (Or released separately). It's just, at this point, I've played most of these games far too much, that there's no way I'll be purchasing. I'm not a fighting game aficionado, so they all feel pretty samey to me, so I'd likely end up only playing one of them.
On the other hand, I'm excited for the Mega Man Legacy collections, which is basically the same thing. So maybe this product just isn't for me.
Wow, this collection actually includes the original Street Fighter.
@PlayedNSlayed
Hey, dude.
Be patient !
Of course Capcom will not ruin the Surprises.
They didn't leave Switch.
It's the Beginning of Super Hype.
They start build Hype from Megaman Collections, Now is Street Fighter Collections.
Who knows if next will be games that you want to play ?
And who knows if another Monster Hunter for Switch will be next ?
They need more times to Port, Remaster their old games.
The key is... Be Patient !
@PlayedNSlayed
Just because you yourself is burned out on something, doesn't mean that everyone else cant have fun with it. (overall internet reaction on the collection) I personally would call it a minor holdover till the Switch's virtual console release.
And just because (insert capcom game on other systems here) isn't on the Switch doesn't mean they haven't been taking notice. (Mega man collection 2 missing on 3ds, now both on switch.)
And on why isn't (insert HD capcom game here) isn't on the Switch in the first place.... IDK, draw your own conclusion.
Capcom hasn't done well on the Switch early on admittedly, (USF2 for $40, are you serious?), but now (RE:R 1 and 2, Mega man Classic and X Collection and 11 and SF30th collection now on (is coming) the Switch) and Switch's rapid growing support meaning that Capcom can't brush of the Switch off this easily making (insert Capcom game on other systems here) will soon follow.
EDIT: Well, look at that. https://twitter.com/serkantoto/status/940254569594019840
TL:DR. Patience.
What a great collection! I'm in!
@Shiryu Was just about to order the 8bitdo N30 Arcade Stick when I discovered that Hori has released the Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa:
http://shoryuken.com/2017/09/15/shoryuken-review-hori-real-arcade-pro-v-hayabusa-arcade-stick-for-nintendo-switch/
It’s about twice the price, though.
Now I would love to see Capcom release a compilation of their 90s arcade beat-em-ups. There were so many great ones.
@Sinton I was just about to tag you with that info. Yeah the HRAP is the "real" stick for Switch. The 8Bitdo supports wireless, HRAP does not however, but I imagine the stick on the 8Bitdo isn't quite as heavy duty as the Hori hardware.
FWIW, I played USFII back when the stick came out, immediately before and after playing SFIV in the arcade on the Sanwa sticks there, and the HRAP is indeed the real deal. The buttons are a bit mushy though.
I'm no FG afficianado (every game on this disc is the same game, to me....) but I can say HRAP feels great. And I haven't tried the 8bitdo (but I do wish for wireless sometimes. )
@Sinton I have the Hori Fighting stick for the Wii, an investment that lead to the accidental compatibility of said stick with both the NES and SNES Mini. Hori does quality work, but you do have to pay the price for them. I had forgotten they had their Hayabusa model out on the Switch because I saw the price... like half the price of a Switch. :x
They better bring a Resident Evil 1,2,3 HD release next year... revelations just doesn’t even feel like a resident evil game... comic relief characters, episodes and always having a partner ruined the atmosphere.
Yeeessssasss!!!!!!! Best announcement this year!!!! 3rd strike on switch!!!
So, I’m torn on what to get USF2 with HD graphics, or this 12 game bundle with all the classics...
@Shiryu Yeah, even though the Switch seems to be arcade paradise, I’m not sure I can defend buying the HRAPV.
Some want to see more of Capoms latest offerings but this selection of Street fighter titles along with the SNK releases is a real gift to fans and collectors of the 2D fighting genre. Great to have all these games on one system
here, let me try this out and say what all the kids say on the internet these days and see where it takes me in life..."meh"
i feel progression already
Not buying it. Every Street Fighter is more of the same.
@EvilRegal Seriously, I agree 100% Capcom is making a big comeback next year. Next year we will have every classic Megaman, and every classic Street Fighter game, all available on any one console. That is amazing... The only thing they could do now to make me even more excited is to announce a Megaman Battle Network and Megaman Zero Collection on consoles...
@Shiryu same 😝
Once still in shock of this news. I don’t know why this of all things has me so hyped. I guess it’s the simple things that make me happiest.
I’m loving these old school collection sets. It’s great.
OMG Third Strike! You want to really make me die? Release the fighting games from the Saturn Era... Xmen...Marvel...Vampire Hunters....
Cool but wish it had USFIV. Even 3DS had IV.
ALL OF MY YES!
Switch is well on its way to becoming my new Dreamcast/Neo Geo (read Holy Grail).
Nope, not getting sucked in again by nostalgia... Bought USF2 and only played it a handful of times before i so sold it.
The only way capcom can impress me right now is by releasing ultra street fighter IV or an entirely new street fighter for switch.
If this includes the Max version of Street Fighter Alpha 3, I'll buy it for sure, but it most likely won't so I don't know.
By the way, those of you thinking of getting rid of Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers would probably do well to remember that Super Street Fighter II Turbo in this collection probably won't have the the HD graphics, Evil Ryu*, or Violent Ken.
*I know Evil Ryu is in Street Fighter Alpha 2 (and probably 3)! I'm referring exclusively to the one in Ultra Street Fighter... Oh forget it! You know what I mean!
@Folkloner they will sell that on its own ...
i wonder if we will get tatsunoko vs capcom. That was a great game
