Re: Crytek CEO: "The Notion Of A Single Player Experience Has To Go Away"

meltendo

They want the single player experience to go away to make it harder to pirate games or sell used games--nothing else. I prefer to play single player games/campaigns. By requiring an internet connection, they can easily check for piracy, etc. I hate this idea because it means we can only play the game as long as it has online support. When they shut down their servers, will we be able to play the games on our own? Thank God I can still play my old SNES wherever and whenever I want as long as my console still works.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Animal Crossing Developers Reply To Fan Feedback

I have a bad feeling they are saving this for the Holiday 2013 season. They're going to use it to bump up their sales during that time. For May-June and the Summer sales season, they'll use more visible tltles like Luigi's Mansion. Nintendo's releases are governed by the bottom line, not what their fans want.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U eShop Needs Patience

meltendo

My only problem with being "patient"...other options will get my attention. If there's nothing new, I end up firing up the PS3 or Xbox for their more robust releases. Maybe I'll spend more time on the iPad trying games. Eventually this leads to the Wii U gathering dust until the next big Nintendo release--the same pattern I had with the original Wii.

Re: Guess What? Michael Pachter Isn't a Fan of The Wii U

I agree with him...Developers will shy away from the gimmick. Look at the Kinnect & Move. A game should not use a feature simply because it's there--it should be part of the gaming experience. A lot of the first gen games on the Vita seemed forced to use the touch controls. Nintendo understands this and you can see it in the Super Mario game. The pad is used brilliantly to let a player add platforms, etc.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Takes One Step Forward, One Back With Retail Downloads

meltendo

The only thing I would consider at those crazy prices is a game with long replayibility like Animal Crossing or Mario Kart--something without a definite end that you can play forever on the go. They do need to fix the one machine per account problem. For my PSVita, I plan on purchasing new downloadable games at the retail prices since I know I can re-download them any time even if I lose my Vita.

Re: 3DS XL Will Get Its Own Circle Pad Pro

NIntendo might be sticking to their guns for now...but what if Capcom decides to put Monster Hunter 4.5 or 5 on the Vita which is already set up for the perfect control combination? I'll bet Nintendo will change their tune as Japanese players switch over to the Vita for their Monster Hunting fix.

Re: GameStop to Sell 3D Classics: Kid Icarus Too

meltendo

I got my code by walking into a Gamestop and purchasing the code...I got my Kid Icarus uprising at Best Buy for $29 so with the code at $5.99, I saved....$3.99.

I had no patience to wait for the game to be available in the e-shop so I'm super stoked to have the original game now.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st December 2011 (North America)

meltendo

Yuck...I actually have $16 in my balance with the hopes of spending it on something like Mighty Switch Force, Mutant Mudds or Pushmo since all three were prominently featured as "Coming Soon" in the store. It would be brilliant if Nintendo could serve up something 3D each week but it looks like that's asking for way too much. Maybe they want to be sure we buy Mario Kart 7?

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans to Fight Back

meltendo

I love my 3DS since I have zero time to play console games. I also enjoy gaming on my iPad and it hurts every week to see the limited selection of downloadable games in the e-shop.

As much as I'm looking forward to the first party games releasing soon, I hope Nintendo is busy making 3D versions of the NES Metroid, NES Kid Icarus, etc.
