In the month of September, we found out three classic games would be added each month to the Nintendo Switch Online NES library until the end of 2018. Nintendo's website even went to the extent of revealing the titles players could expect to see appear on the recently launched service.
In case you missed it, the month of October is adding Solomon’s Key, NES Open Tournament Golf and Super Dodge Ball. Nintendo of America's Twitter account has now confirmed the games will become available on the October. Nintendo's Japanese YouTube channel has also uploaded a brief trailer to showcase the three Famicom games, which can be seen above.
In the remaining months of this year, players can look forward to the following games being added to the service:
This will mean 29 NES games are available on the Nintendo Switch Online service by the end of 2018.
What are your thoughts about the Switch NES library now that you've tried it out? Have you purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership? Do any of these NES games due out next week interest you? Tell us below.

Tell me when they add snes games..
Golf game sucks, but Solomon's Key and Super Dodge Ball are gems, real great additions.
All I can say is meh! Still not as good as virtual console
THREE this month. THREE NES games.
What a paltry amount of games to release over the year.
Tough crowd.
Still waiting for:
Kirby's Adventure
Metroid
Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA)
Kinda ridiculous these weren't launch titles, in my opinion. I think Metroid is on the way soon, hopefully the others will follow shortly thereafter. The NES selection is really hit-or-miss; about half of them are complete stinkers, in my opinion.
I do like Super Dodgeball
Seriously, online Super Dodge Ball is gonna be sick. I like to whine about not getting enough extra free stuff as much as the next guy, but them optimizing all of these old games for online is badass for retro fans and takes work, so chill. You'll get yr SNES games next year.
I'd be psyched if I actually owned an NES collection like this. And with this program, it's like I do! With online play! And its portable!
Can't wait to play FLOG.
Rygar, Rygar NES version would be wonderful!
@LastLife
Terrible performance leads to tough crowd. They deserve every single complaint they get.
Why not just launch all the games that were on the nes classic and go from there?
Meanwhile in a grey part of a community RetroArch for Switch is released, 40+ cores-emulators (with N64, Dreamcast & PSP are possibly to be added later), shaders for a graphical enchantments, online multiplayer & many more features.
Wake me up when they add N64 or GameCube.
I happily paid for the online fee but I was slightly bummed I couldn't play my favorite: Metroid. It really sucks to have to wait until November. Boo Nintendo. Games aren't like Netflix films. Sometimes we want to be able to play them ANY time.
I'm actually interested in Solomon's Key, I've never played it before.
@Dalarrun Yeah, that and Adventures of Lolo are the two I'm most interested in of the ones being added before the end of the year. I played Lolo back in the day and remember really enjoying it, though it was so long ago I don't remember a damn thing other than that it's a top-down puzzle game of some sort.
Man I have to wait until December for Ninja Gaiden? And it's not 2? This online...
Honestly, I just can't get into most of these NES games and I had an NES as a kid. They've just aged poorly and aren't very fun to me now... It's SNES games that I want. They have aged so much better. The service is a great value overall though. Back in the Virtual Console days every one of these games would have cost 5 bucks with poorer emulation. The emulator they're using now is nearly flawless.
Can i have an Option to Not add some NES games ?
I saw a forbidden game on December 2018.
Sorry to be negative but after playing NES games for the first time I found them to be pretty boring... The online service is still a pretty good deal though. Keen to check out Metroid.
I just want to purchase and download classics to keep; this rental service is a terrible, terrible idea and not worth the money they are asking for each year.
I love Solomon's key. Old school super hard.
@Anti-Matter I know right? Adventures of Lolo really offends me with it’s gratuitous violence and cynical satire of real world political themes.
All this is just extra, I’m happy with just paying for online. Thanks Nintendo!!!!!
Instead of 3 they could had add 30. Not like they don't have that many games on the NES. Release 30 at a time per month so we can get to the Super NES and N64 already.
I love you guys assuming we're actual going to get anything but NES games for quite a while. Think how many there are and then think we're only getting three a month.
That'll keep us busy for a long long time.
@retro_player_22 Despite their age, there's still licensing involved with some of these games, not to mention that those with multiplayer need to be optimized for the online functionality. It's not as simple as just adding them.
Besides, at this point it's mere speculation that we're even going to get SNES and N64 games. I mean, SNES games seem like a safe bet but with no announcement from Nintendo we can't be sure. N64 games aren't guaranteed at all and honestly have aged a lot worse than many NES and SNES titles due to the primitive early 3D graphics.
I can’t really get excited for nes games. 30 year old games 3 per month. Wow
@saintayu Exactly. There are enough NES games that they could triple the number of games released every month and it would take over six years to release the full North American NES library. Not that I expect we're gonna get every NES game ever released or anywhere close to it, but at three games a month there's more than enough NES games to keep feeding the service throughout the Switch's entire lifetime. SNES games are a strong possibility, but if it happens it won't be because there's any shortage of NES titles to add.
I have a question please. Is it possible to find instructions/what button does what/point of the game etc on the online NES games? Some of them leave me baffled as to what I’m supposed to be doing and I can’t find any pointers apart from the descriptions. Thanks lots.
Watching the video, I was surprised to see how bad the ol' NES games look - I've not played a single NES since the early days. And looking at this, I'm not in a rush to play them again.
I'm surprised by the level of nostalgia from so many gamers. Or maybe I'm more surprised at my lack of nostalgia - I should be a perfect candidate, having gamed on Sportstronic, Game & Watch, Atari 2600 as soon as they came out, and then almost every major system since - but I just can't get excited. But in saying that, I'd probably lose it if someone did a C64 game compilation on Switch
Simply amazing
@justin233
I second this
Needs an option to purchase or transfer games from last VC. Seeing as I don't play online multiplayer this is the only thing that interests me, you shouldn't need to buy into the online to play games offline when you are not getting the full value of the service you are paying for. VC was much better, instead of having every game you would never play you could build your own. (And own the games as opposed to only renting)
3 games? Wow that sucks
@Bondi_Surfer
I wish there were some C64 games for the Switch but I doubt that'll ever happen. We didn't even get all the Wii VC releases in North America.
The C64 Mini launches soon though with 64 games on it and the ability to add more Roms.
Used to play Solomon’s key on the Speccy. Great game.
Really? Nintendo are adding more games but yet people are still complaining??? If you’re not happy with the service don’t use it, if you’re not happy with the NES games go out and buy the physical game you want to play
@cyrus_zuo <high five>
Lame as hell. Three games a month is ridiculous. if they're going to re;lease them all over time just release them all now. Create a spectacle, make something perhaps people will be happy with. I'm still getting free games with my 360 every month.
@WesEds No need, just buy a 50 quid nES mini and hack it. Play every single game that exists instantly.
Not sure if you all know this, but I remember famicom version of Super Dodge Ball have a 4 player mode. Not sure if 4 players can actually play this online, that will be amazing.
@Mrtoad
The middle on December 2018 was the FORBIDDEN one.
More Nes games? Yay! Can't wait to play some Snes games in 2023. Tbh, this online service (if you want to even call it that) has been disappointing so far.
@WesEds I think you made your point
It's taken Nintendo 18months to provide this 'service'. It hasnt been worth the wait or money. I only really paid for it so my kids could play Splatoon 2 and I could play some online MHGU
Super Dodge Ball is the only one I’m interested in.
@Not_Soos Can't blow all your load in the initial releases. It's probably why Mario 1 and 3 are on release alongside Zelda, but Metroid And Kirby Adventure are further away.
So far I'm having fun with Dr Mario, Balloon Fight, the two Super Mario games and Zelda. Metroid can wait, though I suppose my GF and I would love Kirby.
Never played Super Dodge Ball or Solomon's Key, but maybe I'll give 'em a go since they won't cost anything.
@Anti-Matter it’s a great game. Have you played it. Why is it forbidden
I just wish I could play online with random people. Dr. Mario would’ve been so much cooler with that option, in my opinion. Still, this will be the first time I play Solomon’s Key, so I’m excited!
And every time the same whining, every single time. Nintendo users are the worst haters. Seriously. We've been seeing this kind of comments for months now.
There is no CV, the games they let you play are NES games (and if they ever said "SNES" they stopped saying it quite early), they add 3 every month (add, not change), you have to pay for the online service like in Xbox and PlayStation (but much cheaper, and less than 5 per year if you create a group), the Switch can't run AAA 4K 60 fps titles (but you have all the Nintendo universe and a lot of indies on-the-go instead)... Deal with it.
I am hoping Hamster bring the arcade versions of Bomb Jack and Solomon's Key to Switch. Still, at this rate we are going to have a huge NES collection online. I just hope they have a road map so these games exist online permanently and accessible on future hardware, instead of starting at zero each generation. It feels like they are doing the same work again and again with virtual console lol. SNES games would be something to look forward to, but in the meanwhile, I'm loving the new lick of paint some games are getting
@LastLife @Moroboshi876 Tell me about it, I only came here to see the crybabies.
I did try but didn't purchased a Nintendo Switch Online. I don't play games on line but was looking forward to the games.
But come on, I spent over £400 on the Switch and accessories, to play newer games, these games belong on the DS.
Not impressed.
@Not_Soos I agree with pretty much all of that. It doesn’t make sense that they’d leave out a game like Mario 2. There’s a glaring, gaping hole between Mario 1 and 3. Seems like a no-brainer for them to fill it.
I've still not subbed as I don't see the benefit; a few games that we all have several times over, crappy mobile chat app, etc. yes there are cloud backups and some online play, both of which should not need subs.. please bring in local saves.
Also isn't the golf game the same one that was a hidden tribute to Satoru Iwata? If so, now charging for it now kind of kills off true meaning of that tribute?
Shame on you Nintendo!!
If it's a different golf game then I'll go back to my train journey and stfu 😁
Sorry, retro NES games don't cut it for me. It's 2018... Why not offer a Switch indie title that needs exposure?
Nothing great. Not terrible. I hope Nintendo keeps the games coming every month, and adds SNES games early next year. And then follows that with Game Boy, N64 and GBA titles.
@1UP_MARIO
You know that i really AGAINST that rated 18+ games.
Oh, i have Never and will NEVER want to play that Damn game.
@Mew Dito, also and this goes without saying, this once-again drip-feed approach is mildy put annoying. If they had started with a 100 games or so, it'd be another story, but this way ...
I mean, they do know that this only addresses people who have not 'hacked' their Switch yet anyways right? That's what I find so curious. This is a means to make their offer attractive to their most loyal and honest customers.
I acknowledge - fully so - that it is hard to compete against thousands upon thousands of 'free' roms, sure, but one could wonder if this is really the best they could have conceiveable come up with. I for one don't think so.
@BAN i’m sure it’ll come, either that or the lost levels version. The way i see it is in the last two weeks i own more NES games than i’ve ever had in my life, for less than 5p a day. And next week I get 3 more. Result.
Go Nintendo!
( I just added 56 games, though)
I can't get excited for these games
Lol, meanwhile on the other side:
And this is a weak month after Destiny 2, Here They Lie and God of War Remastered for free in September.
Gotta love the: 'NintendoLife gave this game 8/10 and most other reviewers about a 7/10'
@Anti-Matter ...what's wrong with ninja gaiden? it's an nes game, there's no gore or violence there..
@Anti-Matter it’s not a 18+ game
I haven’t signed up yet. A question to all; has anything appeared on Special Offer in the eShop for subscribers ?
Can't say I'm excited for this but hey. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for SNES games.
Those hoping for N64 or Gamecube games might as well give up now.
Still, I need to remind myself that this costs 20 euros a year and that they've laid the groundwork for a nice platform to enjoy retro games on. I'll wait a year to pass full judgement but I can't say the start has been anything more than ok.
This is lame, to be honest im just gonna delete the NES games app until SNES games show up.
@1UP_MARIO exactly
@BigKing Sweet, 3 games I'm not interested in. Result...
guess they removed all trace of the so called "special versions" that were mentioned on the european nintendo website and that were supposed to also come out next to the regular 3 games a month
I want TwinBee Deluxe on Switch!
@Gerald don't be silly 😂😂
Bring in the super rare ones like Mr.Gimmick.
@1UP_MARIO @Mew @justin233 Do you guys seriously don't know about his weird case? He is already throwing tantrums about the game.
He does not even mention the name of the game because of his "rules".
This is how messed up this is.
@Anti-Matter It’s an 8-bit ninja game with like zero real violence. It’s about as offensive as jumping on a goomba in Mario. You are missing out on excellent games by being such a prude.
@1UP_MARIO @Mew
That game (And the series) is still counted as Forbidden games (rated 18+) for me.
No thanks.
@justin233
It still the SAME Rated 18+ games in the future.
BANNED !
@Anti-Matter That’s ridiculous. You aren’t offended by the idea of men boxing naked but this is over the line. You are offended because of nearly unrelated games that came out way after this and only really share a name.
Alright.
@Mrtoad What are you talking about? Clearly its Wario’s Woods thats the forbidden one. You play as a villain and thus is basically Grand Theft Auto with environmental destruction! Horrible Stuff!
This is cool and all, but I feel like most people are waiting on Gamecube or at least Snes. NES games are interesting, but the lack of save files (in most) gives them more of an arcade feel, even with the restore point system. I just can't pick up that many NES games and be really entertained for more than a few minutes. The only ones I can think of that I still really sit down and play are Super Mario Bros 3, Punch Out, Donkey Kong and maybe Balloon Fight.
@WiltonRoots Of course, you don't like anything except those AMAZING NES ROMS OMG
I think for the £18 a year subscription fee that I don't have a lot to complain about
@Razer isn’t that what the big question mark was for; discounts for online members? Did I read that after too many swift half’s ?
if you only have one system and its the switch i feel your pain but if you got multiple systems you should be alright
@BigKing That's right....paradise.
@Gerald you read it right but we already got a taste of the "Special Offers", you see those lovely NES controllers that are available to only subscribers for the very cheap price of $59.99 that only works with the NES games and nothing else... See it?
It's certainly special 😂😂😂... Need to be on more than a few swift halves to justify buying into that.
People must have short term memory, since we have known this exact info since the direct. But really, the complainers just cant get enough negativity.
I wonder if on PS4 sites they are complaning about how they cant take their PS4 everywhere.
@Razer don't stay wake waiting for those SNES games. They are now for at least a year yelling "growing library of NES games". They only referred to NES +SNES when they were talking about having the games for one month
Oooh Big deal
Enjoying the salt in this thread. Carry on. /goes back to playing The Legend of Zelda
lol
@Mallow Nah apparently the PS4 is a gamer's utopia. I could get one tomorrow if I was so inclined, but I'm not.
they need to add multiplayer lobbies.
@Bondi_Surfer
Did you see the C64 mini that is releasing soon? I have this feeling that it will probably suck, but yet I can't stop myself from getting irrationally excited about it.
Ninja Gaiden is a good one. Those three games plus Castlevania 3 are the games I'm most interested in for this service. They really need to get on games other than just NES though.
Where's Duck Hunt I really need it using motion control of JoyCon.
Wonder how many more months it'll take until people stop whining.
I bought online simply to unlock the added characters from online tournaments in Mario Aces. How sad is that.
As big as the NES library is, it would make more sense to bring out at least 10 titles per month. And why can't you get rid of the menu icons at the bottom of the screen while playing a game? So annoying, Nintendo
My pennies worth on the NES games is this. I'm actually fine with being able to play these games anytime, as much as I want. Literally the only complaint I have is the volume of 3 a month. I really don't think 5-10 would be asking for too much. It just feels like too much of a trickle. I'm hopeful that this is just a test, and come 2019 they'll start releasing more at a time. It would also be nice if they had a random "bonus" NES game tossed in from time to time (like SMB2/SMB2[USA], or Castlevania in time for Halloween this month). At this rate, unless the trickle increases, we're looking at only 65 NES games total by the end of 2019. No one, whether you like this service or not, should find that acceptable, online bonus or no online bonus. Granted, of the 1000 NES games, many are licensed, and many are not true classics (Looking at you Infiltrator), but Nintendo can do far better than 65 by 2019's end. That's my only complaint thus far.
@Balta666 to be honest i dont give a rats ass, i still have an old laptop with more than 1k roms SNES and NES included from years ago... Fired it up after 3 years and its still all good.
I was actually sorta nervous to do it incase i.lost it and didn't have a means for classic games but im still good so none of this worries me.
I'll go sleep peacefully 😎
Needs SNES
@Giygas_95 I second Castlevania 3.
I hope they bring Air Fortress! But to be honest, I'm not sweating the online right now as I'm strapped for cash besides my budgeted 3 games this month.
Wake me up when I can actually buy the games.
More NES games from the 80s already released on Wii, 3DS and Wii U but this time you have to be subscribed to a bad online service to be able to play them. Yahoo!
Sorry if I’m parroting anyone, no longer wading through the toxic swamps under NSO articles. For anyone who just plays games because they’re fun and hasn’t played Super Dodge Ball, it’s a gem. One of my favorite two player NES games.
I like this system, cheaper than virtual console. It seems like Nintendo is doing a lot of multiplayer games because on the online play. I can't wait to play Super Dodge Ball online.
@vio Get a SNES classic. They're awesome.
@Anti-Matter Nintendo wants you to play "forbidden games". Or are you against Nintendo now?
@GameOtaku I think that's why they ended VC. People would expect their purcahses to transfer like the other systems.
I find it funny that free 30 year old games are a selling point. Lol.
Thousands of NES games, and these are the ones we see for 3 months......
@Trajan
Oh, i Love Nintendo.
But, i want to know if the Next NES games i can take it all or i can choose which one i like, so i don't need to play All of them.
@Anti-Matter Nintendo didn't even permit "18+" equivalent games on the system back then. There was no ESRB rating board at the time but that's where the whole Mortal Kombat SNES controversey came from, Nintendo wouldn't allow it. Ninja Gaiden 1 is totally safe. You certainly don't want to play Black/Sigma/Razer etc, but NG1? It's totally safe.
Either way you can't "opt out" of them, it's a digital "bookshelf", where everything is built into the app, there's no selection, you simply get the whole bookshelf.
@NEStalgia
Speaking about NES , i mean Famicom (Because i like the shape of Famicom cartridges with their own colors rather than NES cartidge), can i play Famicom games on SupaBoy SFC with Converter from 60 pin to 72 pin, hooked into SupaBoy SFC ?
@bimmy-lee All this crying will blow over like it always does. Then something just as trivial will rear its head and the crying will begin all over again...
@WiltonRoots - Absolutely. It’s the same vicious cycle my little kids go through when they get too tired. A hug and a nap usually sets them straight again.
@WiltonRoots @bimmy-lee I do not have any intention of hugging the people in this thread. They can go hug themselves.
@Anti-Matter I've never used any of the hardware emulation devices, so I'm not sure. I still have my original NES with the fairly defective toaster slot...but I have no display to connect it to, and no converter....
@NEStalgia @bimmy-lee I imagine some of them aren't very good with physical human contact either....actually let's do it, it will make them feel really uncomfortable.
I think 3 a month is alright but I really hope this is it though. What I mean is I hope that whenever a new console is released that these libraries just stay with the online service and you will be able to access the same libraries on your Nintendo Gameswitch U the day you buy it providing you have a subscription. That would be wonderful but I am scared it won't happen.
@WiltonRoots Would you be good with human physical content with most of these people?
@LastLife The problem is you can't win against a bunch of angry entitled crybabies, that's why it is a tough room. Bitter and nasty over the virtual console being put out to pasture which had overstayed its welcome anyway given how Nintendo neglected it. Somehow it's worse that you get a growing library of NES games which have updated online play on 2P titles, as just a sliver of a list of features for their $20/yr service. Usership of the games are the same as the VC, both digital, both non-transferrable, both dead once the service exits the world. If just 4 NES games a year came out in this format you liked, it would be like you paid to rent them on the VC anyway, so likely most would come out ahead.
@NEStalgia They didn't allow age 18 like games? Typically no, but go look up a youtube clip of like the first half hour or so of Golgo-13. You have sex, smoking, and hollowing out a dudes skull with a sniper rifle with red splat and all too. It was more the exception to the rule, but it is there.
@NEStalgia Thinking about it again, no...
@NEStalgia @WiltonRoots - I was being sarcastic, I don’t hug my kids. It’ll make them soft. I’m glad I wasn’t having a sip when I read your comments. Would have been a big mess. I’m just gonna enjoy these NES games again while all these freedom fighters (c. WiltonRoots) force Nintendo to make my online service better with all their complaints about something most of them haven’t experienced.
Hmm, y'know this reminds me...I might fire up the original Metroid on my 3DS this evening!
You know something to consider when complaining about 3 games/mo (36 a year) for the system if they keep it up.
The NES format had 714 licensed games in the NES format, of which US only had 679. How many of those are tied to licenses lost in the murkiness of dead companies and IP transferring? How many are from companies that will refuse to put their games on the service? How many of them are just god awful or just so unplayable by todays standards or are just exceptionally boring?
Nintendo is aware of this and have to reduce the numbers down to probably some conservative safe level of a couple hundred or so games. They don't know how long they'll run the service, so having 3 is far smarter than 5-10 (60 to 120/yr) as they'd run out of titles.
I actually like the service. It only cost me £17.99 for a whole year, and I’m already working through Zelda as I’ve never seen played it all the way through.
I prefer it to playing maybe £3.59 per title when I might not like the game. Also, it a nice surprise to see what new games will be released.
@VmprHntrD Too much logic...good posts.
@VmprHntrD That one's a weird case. And that was from the JP version IIRC. NoA had the strict censorship. But technically a game like that was prohibited officially by NoA. How it actually got approved anyway, nobody knows. There were a few weird situations like that, but technically all of them weren't actually allowed by NoA's terms...they just happened anyway.
@NEStalgia Actually I am speaking of the US release I have. The sex scene is there between stage 1 and 2 in silhouette. The sniper part is also present, you have to take your aim, wait and shoot, and red hits the glass. Somehow it got through NOA approval which always blew me away.
Good excuse to come out with these three games. I never bought NES Open Golf, let alone Super Dodge Ball. My game was King's Knight and Kid Icarus.
The cloud save last for 6 months. I'm waiting for the expire date since I took the 7 days free from the trial on day one of the Nintendo online. Hope in 5 months or so the Nintendo online will be better to give them my money. For now, the Nes games are just ok, not more than that. If they'll add Snes games, I'll subscribe directly.
@Iacobus Only thing more fun than playing classic games for practically free is seeing people whine about getting to play classic games for practically free.
wow im totally blown away oh wait. i already have all these on my nes mini
Come on Nintendo, is that all?
@YoshiAngemon
I've never met another person who's even heard of King's Knight!
I remember my siblings and I couldn't even come close to beating that game when we were younger. Fast forward to the present and I still can only get about as far as I did way back then.
@VmprHntrD I do not see running out of nes games as a problem. People who are fine with the service already have a subscription or will buy it in the near future. However, if they want new people to buy the subscription they have to up their game e. G. By adding snes games. And at least for me, 3 snes games > 10 nes games.
NES games, zzz. Let me know when they add Switch games.
@SuperiorTech To be honest, I only heard of it on the Wii Shop Channel, then in FFXV, when it was a companion app enjoyed by Noctis and the crew. Thanks to the Restore Points, I have yet to clear Toby's Stage.
@Adam If they are adding NES games now, Switch games will be added by 2048.
No Castlevania trilogy on Switch. Somebody failed at their job.
@vio Completely agreed. Very very few NES games do it for me anymore.
Just sell a "virtual NES" game with the classic NES line-up.
And then sell new games as DLC for the "virtual NES"
Rinse and repeat with SNES, N64 and GC.
Maybe even "virtual GameBoy" if they want to.
The great think would be that they can sell the "virtual xxx" games on a game card for those that do not like the digital/online solution.
@Mew This is exactly what I am waiting for.
@Dpullam Just give me Kirby Super Star... and Super Mario RPG.. and Chrono Trigger...
I don't know....as someone too young to have nostalgia for these, most of the NES games I want to play at this point are impossible due to licensing issues.
Mega Man 1-6, Castle of Illusion series, Battletoads, ducktails, batman, mother, shadowgate, gargoyle's quest 2, crystalis, FF3, bugs bunny crazy castle, The Disney series (particularly aladdin), Jurassic park, Ninja Gaiden 3, Pacman, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 1/2, star wars, galaga....
Its not that I don't want NES games. I do. It's that the ones I do want are ones that will never see release on a service like this because the third parties have realized that there is money in recreating these games or re-releasing their own collections.
@Bunkerneath The emulation is miles better than on the VC. But library-wise you are right.
A true classic, copied so rarely that it is considered a hidden gem, is Solomon's Key. What a great NES version as well. I loved the two clones on the C64 (Solomon's Club and Spherical) back in the day, and enjoyed the original on Wii VC years ago.
I will probably download the arcade version (on Wii U) with my last 500 Wii Points before the shop closes down.
@flightsaber Mega Man 1-6, Mother (Earthbound Beginnings), Gargoyle's Quest 2, Ninja Gaiden 123, Pac-Man, and Galaga all have appeared before, either on the NES mini or the Virtual Console.
Three NES games a month.
They're not exactly spoiling subscribers, are they?
@anders190 Yeah, that would've been awesome to have games that were on a multitude of retro Nintendo consoles, rather than just the NES. More variety that way, too. Don't get me wrong, I like the NES and it was responsible for saving the gaming industry years ago, but certain games (namely the first Legend of Zelda and Metroid games) are truly showing their age these days. I like the SNES, N64, GameCube, and GBA more than the NES myself.
@flightsaber Yeah, sadly a lot of those games will never see release, but you can easily purchase the Mega Man Legacy Collection to have all the NES Mega Man's on your Switch. It's well worth the money IMO. Also, we know Ninja Gaiden 1 is coming, so maybe 2 and 3 will be put on the app as well.
@vio I hope so. I just picked up the Mega Man Legacy Collection. Thanks for the tip!
