I'm scared of square enix remaking this game...

Also hd 2d style would completeley devalue a remake...
If they do it AAA and stick to the original game (not like ff7) then there is a tiny chance it could be good.

I do not expect a lot of this game. it already looks worse than octopath 1 and 2 visually... the repeating textures, for example, are far more noticeable. It just looks a bit rough.

Man I wish square enix would always also pack the original game into their remasters... most of the time their remasters are worse than the original...

@AlonditeFE Actually the exact same thing happened with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.
When the game came out it got ok reviews but after the game makers toolkit video all the journalists deciced this is the best 2d platformer... rayman legenda got the far better review scores but no one would ever call this the best platformer, even worse no one cares about it anymore...

@Pat_trick most critics gave it an 8 or higher.
you can even see this on the metacritic side
only 16% gave it lower than an 8.

and tropical freeze also just got a metascore of 83 and its the best side scrolling platformer of all time...

Just keep in mind that tropical freezes metascore was also just 83 and it is now considered the best side scrolling platformer ever made.

sounds good and after playing the demo of SW outlaws, I'm very confident the game will run and look fantastic on switch 2.

and since this game is bigger than 64gb anyways, I'm also not having a problem with a game key card release, but not at launch.

I think their CRT Filters are much better now compared to the nso launch.
I only play with them

@progx sure some people don't care and simply buy a game key card but many people won't.
I can at least say that I buy usually about 20-30 game per year physicaly and I won't buy any GKC, so its very likely I just buy less games...
I actually have just 3 Switch 2 games yet and for me thats not a lot since launch of a new system

I played the game on ps 4 and don't plan to buy it again but if I would , I wouldn't know how to make enough space on my system...

zelda looks awesome but link looks a bit to feminin for my taste.
It's incredibly hard for me, to imagine a Zelda movie that is good and has real actors.
I'd prefered an animated wind waker style movie.

We don't know anything about the game and some people think the games dead already thats so incredibly stupid

@ShadLink I often complain about things but the reviewers played about an hour and in that hour that npc was just there for a certain part, I'm pretty sure the game is going to be fantastic...
Even Metal Gear has this sort of stupid humor...

For a moment I thought this means a switch 2 edition but nah... From all Nintendo games this would be the best fit to give it a 60fps 4k boost.

it's a problem not only for games, it's even worse in film.
But I agree it's a problem.
There won't be a new star wars, harry potter, final fantasy etc if there is no chance given to new ideas and concepts.

Look at the variety and quality of SquareEnix games, for example, on Ps1 and compare it to today...
On Ps1/n64 in general the variety of games in the AAA market was insane. Now you only get the same IPs...

Long story short, give more unknown games a chance. There are dozens that are worth it.

@dskatter If all games that doesn't exceed 64gb would have come full on card I would have bought at least 10 games already... right now I have three...
On switch 1 I have about 300 physical games... I'm pretty sure on switch 2 it's going to be far far less

only if you don't care about game key cards... but if you have an issue with game key cards like me, than third party support is a nightmare... worse than on wii u...

not that I want it but I wonder what would happen if nintendo would make a new proper mario kart game, puts it on every system + smart phones and makes it free 2 play + fortnite like games as a service model.

I would hate it but I wonder how much money it would make...

This is actually a part of AI where I have less problems with. QA is extremely expensive and it doesn't need any creativity.
But I actually doubt that it works well. So far Ai is in almost all cases a disappointment.

I asume they just buy smaller studios like they did in the recent years.
Small studios are far more effecient

I experienced the opposite. Many people in my surroundings (most of them are game developers) who in the beginning where big fans of AI are now going to back to manual work.
When it comes to code, most of it is not usable and needs to be adjusted which most of the time takes more time than writing the code themselfs.
With image creation it's even worse...
So far for game development AI is not worth it.

Also the Chat GPT didn't get much better in the last two years... only details got better but it's still have the same fundamental issues and those come from how LLMs work.
If you read a bit about the topic you will see it won't get much better with the systems they currently use.

But too much competition can be. Look at the indie space right now. Just too many good games and the amount of money that gets spend on indies is limited. Which means many great games won't make their cost back. Which also means developers will play save and that some games/genres won't be made anymore.

It's like watching a good movie to see how Microsoft is destroying Xbox systematically in the recent years... They earned so much good will from gamers after the first Xbox and the 360 but what they do now is just laughable...

I did a lot of analysis of heart gold and soul silver and it's not only the best pokemon game it's one of the best RPGs ever made thanks to it's brilliant progression layer design.
