Re: "I Can't Afford To Give It Away For Free" - Silksong's Low Price Is Causing Devs To Re-Evaluate Their Own Games

@Duncanballs I think in general you are right. But I also think that topic is so much more complicated and complex than this.
I also think in case team cherry would have charged 25 or 30 people would have complained about it.

But for the games industry it's a huge problem that many people don't want to spend money for games anymore at all, they expect it to be free. they do not understand free 2 play games and they do not understand why free 2 play leads to worse games, less creativity and more mean psycho tricks.

It's not a good thing when people expect a low price for something that cannot be produced at that low price.

Re: Feature: What's It Like To Attend Gamescom 2025?

I love the gamescom but I would not go there for AAA games.
But you forgot to mention so many cool things there like cosplay village, the retro area, and the trading card arena and many other things that are more interesting than AAA games

@LuigiFanno1 if I could share links here I would but maybe just google "nintendo switch 2 physical game sales".
It's already the first articles that pops up.

anyways why are you so against having games on card? I really don't get it. If you prefer digital, thats great no one wants to take that away from you. If the whole debate is a problem for you just stop clicking the articles

@AllBLK that's BS sorry.
sure companies release surveys all the time to collect data but here many things fall in place.
80% of the switch 2 games sold physically and most of that is actually nintendo stuff and cyber punk. (you can even calculate this with official numbers).
nintedo is very concerned about they key cards...
there are even news now that let asume nintendo is ordering more different size card (saw it on a website called nintendo soup).

Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

@ktej75 the main reason for games being bigger in size than they need to be is that it's work to reduce size. look at call of duty, I'm sure that size could be reduced by half or so. but they have to deliver those games so quickly, they just don't have the time to do optimisation like this.

Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Needed A Partner Showcase With Pep; This Wasn't It

It's very likely I'm not buying a single game of this direct and this very rarely happens. Square Enix and especially Nintendo can keep their game key card trash.
In my opinion the only thing that can turn that Switch 2 generation into a good thin is, if they find a way to stop with the game key cards. Other wise I will spend a lot less money on games. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only wale they are going to lose with this crap.

Re: Octopath 0 Is A Game-Key Card On Switch 2, And Square Enix Has "No Plans" For A Switch 1 Upgrade Option

jojobar

@uncleMike because everything in game development is super slow. we will see in a year and as I said Square enix has two options now either they make proper cards or they will lose some sales.

there is also a third option
make a special edition that is more expensive and that includes the game on the card. this then can be limited to however much preorders they got. essentially the limited run games system. after that preorder phase everything else is a key card. so they won't sit on any expensive unsold copies
