@JimmyFleck Yes your right all the trailers so far were like they have been made by an intern... weird selection of scenes, weird cuts etc... I don't understand it to be honest... how is this possible ?
@Tyranexx I think the game is ok. it's in all disciplines simpler than SS. The story and character writing is a bit simpler, the pre-rendered backgrounds are very static (which is a big minus for me) etc. But it's not a bad game. Maybe on a level with the Lunar games
@Duncanballs I think in general you are right. But I also think that topic is so much more complicated and complex than this. I also think in case team cherry would have charged 25 or 30 people would have complained about it.
But for the games industry it's a huge problem that many people don't want to spend money for games anymore at all, they expect it to be free. they do not understand free 2 play games and they do not understand why free 2 play leads to worse games, less creativity and more mean psycho tricks.
It's not a good thing when people expect a low price for something that cannot be produced at that low price.
I'm with the lizard brain guy on this. We saw the silksong price argument several times when metroid dread came out. 20 bucks is too cheap for a game like silksong and this is sending the wrong signals
that dark deity game gets quite a bit of attention here on the site for what it is. there are tons of indie games that are more worth reporting about...
@OorWullie i think smaller card would be great but if they still cost too much they should offer slower cards. no one can tell me that most indies or smaller titles like octopath traveler wouldn't work on switch 1 cards with higher resolution and frame rate on switch 2
I love the gamescom but I would not go there for AAA games. But you forgot to mention so many cool things there like cosplay village, the retro area, and the trading card arena and many other things that are more interesting than AAA games
@Pillowpants I think it's possible to make a game that has pixel art but line drawn sharp characters in the UI layer but it's very very difficult to make and here it just feels off.
I hope for Xenoblade games and Donkey Kong tropical freeze. Since the Switch generation, nintendo started to make more ambient soundtrack and those are bad for just listening them anyways. There is no real banger in either Zelda or Mario game since that generation and both had sooo many bangers before in every game...
@LuigiFanno1 if I could share links here I would but maybe just google "nintendo switch 2 physical game sales".
It's already the first articles that pops up.
anyways why are you so against having games on card? I really don't get it. If you prefer digital, thats great no one wants to take that away from you. If the whole debate is a problem for you just stop clicking the articles
@AllBLK that's BS sorry. sure companies release surveys all the time to collect data but here many things fall in place. 80% of the switch 2 games sold physically and most of that is actually nintendo stuff and cyber punk. (you can even calculate this with official numbers). nintedo is very concerned about they key cards... there are even news now that let asume nintendo is ordering more different size card (saw it on a website called nintendo soup).
@ktej75 the main reason for games being bigger in size than they need to be is that it's work to reduce size. look at call of duty, I'm sure that size could be reduced by half or so. but they have to deliver those games so quickly, they just don't have the time to do optimisation like this.
@AllBLK that's BS sorry. if enough people complain and let their wallet speak they are going to think how they can change. It's ridiculous to believe they make this surveys to pretend they would care...
@Pillowpants Not a Hollow Knight fan myself but silksong is no 1 in steam wishlists since a while, which means it's one of the biggest game in general.
It plays well but man they are so lazy when it comes to the setting and visuals... It's the most boring fantasy setting I can imagine... not even close to the incredible worlds of the mana games or final fantasy, xenogears/blade... you can add any ps1 rpg here...
But I do not care anyways, I won't buy it since it's a game key card
It's very likely I'm not buying a single game of this direct and this very rarely happens. Square Enix and especially Nintendo can keep their game key card trash. In my opinion the only thing that can turn that Switch 2 generation into a good thin is, if they find a way to stop with the game key cards. Other wise I will spend a lot less money on games. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only wale they are going to lose with this crap.
@uncleMike because everything in game development is super slow. we will see in a year and as I said Square enix has two options now either they make proper cards or they will lose some sales.
there is also a third option
make a special edition that is more expensive and that includes the game on the card. this then can be limited to however much preorders they got. essentially the limited run games system. after that preorder phase everything else is a key card. so they won't sit on any expensive unsold copies
@AussieMcBucket I actually think people are fine with key cards if the game is bigger than 64gb. its just a problem when smaller games are on a key card. I mean most of those games wouldn't even need the switch 2 cartridge speed or just could run the switch 1 version with higher fps and resolution.
@uncleMike sorry but this is BS have you read any of their social channels whenever a game key card is announced. they totally get this message. They have two options either making proper cards or they are going to miss out on some sales.
@nin10doom and I think your opinion is totally valid. I personally enjoy collecting a lot and it's a big part of my hobby, I will lose a lot with those game key cards. I bought over 300 physical switch 1 games and I can tell already my switch 2 library is going to be A LOT smaller...
@Fragpiper dude you don't have to read it, you say we should just go away but no you should just go away from the comments. problem solved, you can thank me later...

@AlonditeFE I think it's ok to have concerns but an opinion shouldn't been formed already
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
Im not sure about the open world. usually those need a lot of content and usually have a lot of filler fetch quest stuff...

I think this is LRG first SquareEnix game, which means it's possible that more will follow.
