to be honest I'm good forever with octopath traveler. the second one started really good and became so incredible boring in the second half... it felt like work. They also didn't fix the worst design decisions from the first game and I bet they didn't for the third one...
and now we have the same again... long lead up times for switch cards and expensive cards... and for that the consumer has to suffer and has to deal with key cards
@Sonicka I played MKW and I think it has the worst online play of all MK games. DK Bananza is almost beaten, maybe in a week and then what? drag x drive lol? I'm not going to support cheap game freak and I don't care about Kirby Air Riders, a very mediocre game cube game successor. Hyrule Warriors was nice on the Wii U but it over stayed it's welcome. So we have Metroid Prime 4 and what else?
uff that comes a bit disappointing... I mean a partnershowcase can be really good but I want to know whats next on my switch 2 and when is Metroid Prime 4 finally coming out...
And the worst thing is, I bet all or almost all games in that direct are game key cards on switch 2, which means I will pass.
@Kneppy18 The most games can be played absolutely fine without a day 1 patch. there is even a website that tracks this and only very little games need a day one patch to be played properly.
I skip all the key cards just because I want to send a message to the companies.
Nate is almost always right when it comes to nintendo things. That being said, I think you don't have to be a fortune teller to know that a direct need to come soon since there is nothing big on the horizon and that cannot be the goal with a brand new system
@AitoHikari It takes a little bit of time to bring it to another System but in this case I assume it's because it's sort of a Live Service Game. that means you have to bring updates to all systems at once and you have to get approval for all systems separately, also you have to test on all systems etc. . This work piles up and for a small studio it can be too much if the game doesn't sell enough and on Xbox games don't sell (only gamepass)
If they bring the game to Switch 2 I sell my Switch 2. I won't play on a system where this game is on... Just kidding, ofc we want the game on Switch 2... what a question
@Xansies actually wizardry is the RPG that inspired most early JRPGs. Anyway it's a remake, I expect more. Actually Dragon Quest games until 11 did barely change. I tried so many of them and I really wanted to like them but they are just not very good.
@FatDaddyD I absolutely would spend 10 bucks more if all games would be fully on card. That would also lead to a situation where Nintendo produce far more cards and the cards would become cheaper
@gaga64 I don't think they will make a switch 2 version of DQIII (but ofc I don't know it).
But I can tell you that DQ3 is one of the most over hyped games in my opinion. It looks great but the gameplay is as boring as it can get for a JRPG. There is almost no story (and the little there is is really boring), the gameplay is essentially extremely boring dungeons and battles that do not need a single brain cell.
There are many other Switch JRPGs that are better, if you haven't played Star Ocean 2 for example, try that, it's old school as well but far superior.
That sounds like a really lazy excuse. That means they can keep both of their games.
Making max amount of money buy selling the game key card... SE really was once such a fantastic company...
@Mocznik Many people said the same about switch emulator and now their almost all gone or at least it's harder to get your hands on them. Nintendo doesn't need to get rid of all rom sites they just need to make it difficult enough for pirates. Some people will always pirate but some won't if it's to complicated or if they get a virus from a russian forum
@SplatRay001
Thats essentially Steven Spielbergs position too. He also beliefs that you have to make movies that appeal to millions and at the same time you can make art.
For myself "product" has a bad connotation so I just call it a game or a video game. Everyone can do how they want to call it.
it's funny that in articles like this, it's always mentioning the steam deck even though it's not even close to the wii u in terms of sales numbers... and no one would ever say that the wii u grew the console market
@brakeman90 I couldn't say it any better. But I still have hope they learn, in FF tactics they at least added the option to switch to the old graphics... lots hope they don't mess this up again
@Zealv2 but thats fine. sometimes I even would prefer having single releases. For example I would have liked every Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster game as a separate release. All with their own nice cover, booklet and so on. Ideally they would have made the "remaster" better and added more options like original graphics swapable etc..
Oh and btw if you like this stuff, the MGS collection is also full of messed up Gen AI upscaling... ets even worse actually. All the posters in the MGS games are a complete mess, like no one checked the art before they added it to the game.
the online mode is messed up already since launch. there is no skill required anymore just item luck... and you get interrupted all the time from items. local the game is great but online it's dead for me.
@iLikeUrAttitude What are you talking about! it was the first gamepad with analoge shoulder buttons. Acutually they even have half way a click that was used in many games. In Star Wars Rogue Squadron this is even essential. This never came back even though it was brilliant.
Nintendo completely ruined online play with MKW. It is just not fun at all when you are a good racer and now it's 90% up to item luck if you can make it to the first place.
@Pillowpants I had also no issues but I also didn't play online. They are not going to fix online play and that for a very easy reason: they would need to change to dedicated servers and thats really expensive.
@The_Nintend_Pedant I think the reason for the bigger screen is just to fit the hardware in the case because smaller hardware means usually it costs more.
I have no issues with the screen so far. looks good enough for me. Maybe I'm just old and know how it was to play on a gameboy or I'm just thankful with the device itself.
@Serpenterror I don't know why it shouldn't feel like a premium game. It is by far the biggest, most refined and visual appealing Mario Kart game. If this isn't feeling premium to you, it's maybe yours and not the games fault.
@thenikdavies it's very easy to explain. 1. Nintendo is more likely to feature your game in any of their showcases if it isn't announced for their systems yet. 2. almost no one has dev kits for the system and almost no one knows when they will get one. So they cannot announce anything. Thats was a mistake of nintendo
@Chimichanga that was my thought too... but to be honest this game also looks like it doesn't run well. And it also doesn't look fantastic but it's still worlds better than pokemon.
They included the old version with pixelized graphics and the new one. It seem like Square Enix is listening, this is fantastic! Can't wait for the game!

to no ones surprise its only half as successful as Mario... One of the strongest IPs in gaming .

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Dev Achieved 19% Profit Increase Last Financial Year
To be honest I wouldn't consider this very healthy. a game from them cost likely 10-30 million and having only so little profit is not that great.
I hope so much their next game will finally hit the 4 million mark, if a developer earned it then them.
