Games have already gotten sneaky with $60 games having paid dlc. The questions is how blatant do they want be about it, cause I've bought all of nintendos dlc without feeling ripped off I spent $85 on one game technically
this is something ive thought about recently, its such a funny and odd addition it makes me wonder the reason why some nintendo games have it. wariowares unhinged, peach showtime wants to excite, 12 switch wants to cause pain
i really hope something comes from this, i remember when they sent out warioware surveys before GiT was announced too. they fact theyre even acknowledging that people might like the older mechanics, mario rpgs feel hopeful again
on another note i think we all lost our chance to publicly give our two cents after they realized everyone cheesed their club nintendo surveys lol
i agree having an auto steering function really kills the sense of online competition, i hope it doesnt unbalance the rankings that much.
hopefully this will more so stop low level players from dying as early rather than cheese their way to high ranks, i imagine skilled players will keep this function off and take advantage of off road shortcuts and the general flexibility. i hate how limited MK feels with auto steering, i dont think any top player would have that on
aw marshal not being able to sit is lame. i love the squirrels and i get theyre shorter, but he doesnt even look that shorter compared to the other figures? makes me wish they just stayed the same size as everyone
this announcement still feels like a fever dream. all signs pointed to this game style never coming back, like they were SO insistent of it never happening. but here it is and it looks stunning, i can wait to experience this game again
ill never be convinced to give mario battle league a pass. it may have the most solid strikers gameplay, but literally having nothing else to offer at $60 really burns it for me
you can tell audiences believed that too, being the only mario sports game on switch to get a 2nd demo several months after launch
i cant speak too much on this but i wonder if this is a case of the next gen bubble finally popping, games and graphics getting bigger and more expensive each year and still failing to deliver. so sad to see after last year being considered a great year for gaming
nintendos last gen approach could very well be the thing keeping them stable
pretty much agree on the cons. 3 boss types is pretty weak and tho ive heard theres 120(?) kind of floor builds, im already feeling some repeats. another con for me is despite how high-stakes the main story feels its pretty anti climactic to beat it in a few hours
but its not stopping me from a fun time, its satisfying gradually getting stronger with my upgrades. it arguably has even more play time than octo expansion in terms of replayability. tho nothing will ever top the story and satisfaction of beating octo expansions
Wii u and 3ds nailed their home menus I wished their organization format would come back. Even this looks just as simple yet sleek but still shows more games at a time
@Bret that rumor trains been bugging me, just something spread during the heat and panic of palworld discussion. and im oddly inclined to believe the CEO too cause why lie about something like that when we already know their stance on AI
beyond the pokemon influence its a fine game. a loop of collecting pals, resources, and base building. an addicting loop from what ive seen, tho people comment on its staying power after playing a dozen or so hours. its in early access so i do hope future updates make it better for people playing
orbulon has personally grown on me a lot ever since they redesigned him to be a small guy, but yeah odd someone like jimmy didnt come first
happy theyre still trying to promote move it, i love the game but i wish there were more collectables and solo modes to pull me back. its so baked as a local party game first i cant enjoy a majority of the modes
devils advocate, but spirits are better than trophies for having actual gameplay value serving as mini challenges and character equipment
i miss the charm of 3d models and proper descriptions, but if thats all we could say was better about them, then after 4 games of rewriting the same trophy descriptions spirits are a more than fine substitute
must come with the territory of directing games but props to his work ethic. he's posted several times a week without delay for over a year with a clear cut off on when to stop
i havent watched all his videos but i appreciate how short and approachable he's kept his topics. they werent meant to be full classes but small insights on what he's learned over the years
@DiggleDog indeed. i loved the games as a kid, still havent beat mother 1 but i gotta respect how much they value its legacy. even if it doesnt mean any future games projects
theres something bittersweet about itoi being so upfront about how he's done with earthbound, and he told the story he wanted to tell and that its finished
its so wild how this essentially dead franchise lives on thanks to community love and occasional merch drops, its like this series is stuck in purgatory of being popular enough to celebrate but not enough for any kind of game
the most i could dream for is a trilogy port release, or a remake of one of the games they'd sell for $60 id immediately buy lol
@nimnio funny how the switch oled ended up being that $350 upgrade haha, but it does have my mind racing on what a NEW switch would be exactly. i feel theres a line between people expecting a minor hardware boost like 3ds to new 3ds, or a pure jump to next gen console like ps4 to ps5. id hope for the latter just for the sake of a better switch UI alone
@HalBailman thats true, the switch is a much more subtle yet impactful gimmick they can carry on to a sequel. it'll be quite a bold step, nintendo rarely makes a powerful console with no new gimmicks just for the sake of it. consoles like SNES and gamecube didnt sell that much better than their previous gen counterparts when all they could offer was being a simply more powerful version
that could be an apples vs oranges comparison tho, i just find it interesting. i can easily see the pendulum swinging to the other side and people wishing the switch took a more bold direction, arguing a switch pro only appeals to hardcore fans that want better framerate and more 3rd parties games to come to it natively
that said i desperately want them to continue the console/handheld hybrid, i play my switch 95% of the time portable
makes me wonder where nintendo will go for their next console. as obvious as the switch 2 sounds their last attempt at a console sequel massively bombed
theyre always preaching innovation so i honestly dont know if they'll play it safe with a simply more powerful switch or not
lets not be to hasty with dismissal, minecraft was once considered the "cringy" new game for kids and we're just in another generation of that with fortnite. im not into either games and people need to stop having a high horse on thinking their too cool and good for it
nintendo is both strict and odd with who they chose to collab with. rabbids, starlink, skylanders? i didnt see much annoyance towards those. nintendos late to everything, give them time and we'll reach a point where a crossovers inevitable. fortnite being a ftp game could be one push back tho, thats one market theyre very careful in
i still really love the concept of spirits, they were a clever way to mix in trophies, stickers, equipment, events, and a story mode all into one. my only wish was they came with descriptions, or had a zoom feature since those pngs can be pretty detailed
ive collected and max leveled all the spirit so spirit events never interested me, i might hop back in to keep collecting. im even a weirdo that likes to tinker with equipment to personalize my mii fighters just for the fun of it
man i was looking forward to having a better undercover kit but the fact it physically hurts to deal with the special just baffles me how it got through testing
the pricing and quantity of games changes throughout regions, but its valued at roughly $2 a month in the philippines. id be more than happy with this service being more portable
for a kids property if they can nail exploring their cartoon world, thats the most i could ask for a game like this. thats certainty what i wanted playing ed edd n eddy the mis ed-vetures lol
this looks like a solid kids game, but not the kind adults can enjoy like the show. i like bluey and it has its moments but ive watched more clips than eps
"make your own fun" is such a double edged sword in this case, i found AC multiplayer underwhelming since all the minigames were cut. and in general we were expected to make our own fun with island decorating despite all the previous content they removed
im not familiar with sims but i can easily see EA take the approach of less content but "imagine the possibilities! do anything you want!"
its weird to think about how different the handheld and console games are structured. they both have story-structured microgames, but handhelds focus on solo content and collectables while consoles focus on local multiplayer party modes
besides Snapped, all of these are bangers for their respective system, i just wish the newer games had more to do for solo players. GiT is arguably the best solo console experience and Move It the best party multiplayer one, i just wish they'd program some CPUs so the modes were more accessible
i played so much TS3 with my brother growing up, but looking back on the game its even better than i remember. amazing campaign, tons of content and characters, indepth map maker. its as if a live service game had all its content unlockable with one purchase, which is a sad comparison nowadays
i think this is the most fun warioware by far with the multiplayer being a blast if you have people to play with, but without multiplayer youre literally missing out on half the content. missed opportunity not bringing back coins and buying "souvenirs" for the resort theme, or even more solo modes. that made replaying the game a lot more rewarding than just going for highscores
i probably prefer GiT more just for giving me more to do as a solo player, and it has more competitive edge too with precise button controls, leaderboards, and character viability which makes it fun to replay.
but both are fantastic games that capture diff roles, and i think thats a best case scenario for both games so one doesnt simply replace the other. i just wish they'd program some CPUs to play against, i can rarely gather people for local multiplayer nowadays lol
kinda cool theyre going a diff direction from the mario movie, grabbing a different audience with a different property. as much as i wish it was animated, with miyamoto involved ill trust it'll be close enough to his vision and be a fine movie
i get theres a pride in being a nintendo fan, but i recently got xboxgame pass and its been such an amazing value? i feel a lot of these upset comments dont actually know what theyre upset about. "omg microsoft is supporting nintendo what if their games come over" the horror. theres no way to take the console wars mindset seriously anymore
As polarizing as this game is, I still think it's a genuinely great game that suffers from issues that were easily fixable and aren't even the gameplays fault. We couldve gotten more boards, fixed the SLOW ui, make any controller usable, ect
Now that we have superstars I'd love for them revisit SMP's weirder ideas. Partner Party's is nonlinear board exploration is so fun, and I like how unique each character is with their own dice
i dont think their games will truly compete again. but if their mindset is to be on the same league as mario, their quality might actually improve if they can even mimic half of what makes a mario game good
@Croctopus agreed! as someone who grew up with the handheld WWs, multiplayer was never a spotlight for me. GiT may not be a console showcase, but its still an creative idea thats pushed to its near limit. and as a solo player its arguably the most competitive and strategic of the whole series, with precise button controls and character viability
i have friends that specifically dont play WW cause of its motion controls, and not everyone can do these forms for one reason or another. so its cool that GiT and Move It cover both sides of the spectrum of what people want out of a WW game
shame about the solo play being another weak point, but i suppose thats the case with any party game. and as much as i want leaderboard challenges again those really only made sense in a GiT environment
i loved GiT all the same, cant wait to play something even more hectic and lively with move it
ill be dead and buried before im convinced a warioware game can be bad
seems like it'll be fun. i am a little sad with the loss of wario cup since i wont have people to play multiplayer with, but this is still gonna be a blast
