Cool if you keep multiple joycon around for use i guess? Would've preferred if they kept the grips just for the sake of comfort if you wanna play em while its charging, this feels niche enough as is
@-wc- so glad to hear someone say this, these kinda games already focus so much beating bite sized challenges in seconds. its would fit so well in the warioware format. heck mix it in with online and you could have youre own NES version of warioware 99
ngl theres just a pinch of disappointment this isnt a flat out new horror game with a nintendo-spin i was expecting. did anyone else thing the game was gonna be in 3d given the teaser? made me think it'd go any other direction than a VN
that said i do love me a good VN, hard to say it ill check it out but i hope it sells well for fans
I'm really loving this game, even with the battle mode issues I still love playing them as a way to wind down from the fun, stressful adventure challenges
One minor thing I still want is fully customizing the unlockable characters. So lame we can't change them in any way I want the lamb to wear a hat
These are, a lot of good changes? The fact they're acknowledging brellas canopy issue and explained it with this much care is something I thought I'd never see
They even addressed little issues I thought were too silly to fix, like sending the wrong signals after you get splatted/revived lol
its just unfair how great off the hook are, having the best arc and stories of the whole franchise. tbh i was hoping 3's dlc would flesh out deep cut the same way octo expansion did for off the hook, but it just made me love the latter idol group even more lol
ive had my rough patches with this game but ive still really enjoyed it. having online is such a powerful value even if its just the 8 sports now, the perfect awkward middle child of the franchise
im still surprised by this tbh, normally nintendos a lot more transparent about post launch dlc. this mustve started development well after launch
"fans can still make stuff just dont share it online" do people not realize how ridiculous that statement is? like have you ever spent any time in any community? should all gaming creators/streamers just stop? what
fine enough value with the retro games, but i buy NSO for the online. it still stings knowing theres no actual improvements to the online from what we can tell, and it makes me wish there was an even cheaper tier that was just the online strictly
or idk keep the online free and have the game subscription be a separate thing, but that would drastically lower its value for a lot of people
i think it'd be a fun idea, it already sounds like a non intrusive way of adding a new gimmick to a controller. i can imagine L/R being replaced with with clickable scroll wheels, and ZL/ZR possiblyyyy with analog now?
its such a cynical take to say you just skip to only doing original art, coming from people that arent even creatives. as if they dont wanna talk about how undertales creator started off with an earthbound mod, or how any creator in general starts off with fan creations
this wasnt some devious ploy that was even earning money. it was created by fans for fans, people who have supported RH in the past because why else would you want a RH maker. and i have no reason to be happy its gone while people who didnt even know it existed shame fans for it. its a fantastic project
exciting knowing he could be starting work on his next game soon, other than sequels its honestly a wildcard what new IPs he could try next. ultimate deluxe is a safe choice for the next gen switch, it feels too valuable of a game to start from scratch rn
@Not_Soos i would love that! but would wonder how more AC fighters would play, given villager and isabelle already cover a lot of items and tools used in the game
realistically i can imagine they go with the bower jr route and have the isabelle alts be diff NPCs from the game, heck digby is already her twin and could work as an easy reskin too
amiibo was one of the best ways they took advantage of the toys-to-life boom. im glad we're at the balance where theyre just quality figures with insignificant game bonuses, otherwise it'd just be dlc thats obnoxious to obtain
tho is this something i respect more from a distance, only having less than 10 amiibos overall but dozens of AC cards. would love to see more just for the appeal of supporting a series more beyond just the games
ill always be excited for more cotl, but just a lil bummed the coop is local only. i just dont have people around to play this with, will still look forward for the new set of content! i lose hours whenever i play this
more options the better, but i feel 1st party games can get away with doing this less? since their games are made for the hardware specifically, chances are theyre running the best they can already
but given the 30fps ttyd controversy, im sure some people would appreciate it. im more conscious toggling quality options on pc games since you gotta make it fit your hardware
its weird, nintendo is kinda like the iphone of consoles. they have less options to tinker with cause they already cater the experience in a way thats easy to understand. more options probably wouldnt upset people cause they wouldnt be touching it in the first place
i still dream of the day streepass comes back. it could debatably be easier than ever with people bringing their switches around. heck make so all you need to carry is one joycon to get streepass hits
tho i do love is more as this forbidden fruit, the most streetpasses i got in one day was 3, playing the games mainly through playcoins. i miss the 3ds era where owning the device itself was enough of its own game
@RareFan same. i honestly commend how hard they tried to make the modern style work, TOK was honestly their best attempt despite the discourse it still caused
i hope this makes nintendo realize they dont have to limit themselves with arbitrary rules just for the sake of it. mixing both of TTYD and TOK's best qualities could make an incredible game
i dont know what fan would ever vote "no please dont ever make characters look unique again"
i agree the devs probably took it as a challenge to do so anyway, TOK looks like its BEGGING for unique characters trying to find as many loopholes as possible (old enemies with new origami designs, legion of stationary, bob-omb having the nickname bobby, ect) but at that point, just embrace make new characters?
@mariomaster96 old fan here and i agree map design is the one thing that feels more archaic compared to TOK. it really makes me dream for a sequel and mixes both TTYD and TOK best qualities
i still regularly play RFA, its the only way i can justify sitting for a majority of my day lol. makes me wish it got more updates or DLC, this series is such a heavy hitter id love to see more of what it can do
Really puts into perspective the priorities of smash. I think it's still obvious certain fighters are competitively stronger than others, but you're not playing against esport level players online
The balance still isn't perfect imo but given the compromise between millions of fans and 80+ characters I think we got it about as good as we could get. Bowser jr/lemmy for life
i always have passive excitement for deltarune, not always on my mind but pleased to hear more news on it. theres something nice about knowing the devs are quietly working on the game, its going well, and i just go "cool "
on the topic of keeping cases, has anyone ever done the middleground route of keeping the cases on a shelf, but also moving the discs into its own binder? i only had a dozen or so games at a time, so i have the convenience of keeping all my games in a binder but also the aesthetic of displaying my cases on a shelf haha
they really wanna glace over the API pricing huh. but ugh, regardless of your thoughts on twitter this is a shame, it really was a convenient way to upload and share game highlights. i used it a lot doing the switches early years
i get conflicted between digital and physical. on one hand id love to always have physical for my fav games. but sometimes i get SO excited to play id rather download it and have it ready the second its available. its a dilemma lol
my eyes for the life of me cannot tell the diff on the lower frame rate, tho i imagine veteran players needing to readjust their muscle memory on superguards
i dont doubt that the game will run as beautifully as it looks. id only get annoyed if frames drop hard in the middle of gameplay, but i have no reason to believe would happen in a game like ttyd (besides the dry bones room lol)
whats scary is how plausible it is for the switch 2 to not be compatible with old switch games at all. i was under the assumption that of COURSE it'd be backwards compatible, almost every nintendo console and handheld was too. how can these tiny switch chips not be?
but this switch era where nintendos back on top and at their greediest? idk man i feel theres a lot more they'll try and get away with. hoping for the best
a music player and concept art is the minimum i could hope for from a remake lol, but the latter is surprising. it really feels like theyre want to respect the legacy of this game in a way theyve ignored for so long
i can only hope this game sells well enough this late into the switches life, its a beast of a title
@Uncle_Franklin yeah! its divisive but i really like the paper craft aesthetic the newer games have, its very pretty and they managed to make these worlds feel alive and lived in by TOK.
i think what ruined it was when the game mechanics and characters had to rely on paper jokes and gimmicks too, it should stay as a visual aesthetic and not overtake the games identity
kinda off topic but id love if a new PM game looked as good as the sticker star boxart, seeing the felt material and shadows overcasting the layered paper looks so cool. it was a shame this was when they started the choppy animations and removed the layered look of characters, up until the remake anyway
I know NH finished it's 2 year update cycle years ago and we should move on, but it still stings knowing they regularly promote new products without any actual game news
With how mainstream its become I feel they could toss us a (good) spinoff or something, it lends itself perfect with its hundreds of characters and thousands of items
I'm just a desperate fan and want them to revisit their RPG idea AC was originally conceived as
I like their out of the box thinking even if it sometimes to their detriment
Paper mario TOK's ring battles are undoubtedly unique and peaked my interest, but they grew stale and its easy to see its flaws after playing through the game. New gimmicks are fun but it stole Pape Mario's identity for the past decade. I like nintendos weird side in moderation

Re: Warner Bros. Games Acquires 'MultiVersus' Developer
genuinely sad this game was brought down by its ftp model, this game couldve been a strong smash substitute just with its legacy of IPs alone
it just feels janky and unfinished with stingy rewards. best of luck to the game but i already dipped out

Re: Talking Point: Is Shovel Knight Now A Retro Gaming Icon?
quickly searching the term something becomes "retro" after roughly 15-20 years, if these are legitimate sources
but its interesting to think about, a lot of us think back to 80/90s era for whats retro. soon in 2 years the 3ds can arguably be called retro
