Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?

WhiteTrashGuy

I was blown away by DOOM 2016 and DOOM: ETERNAL on S1, so my two biggest port hopes prior to the S2 launching were Indy and DOOM: THE DARK AGES. With Indy confirmed, all I really want to see is some Doom Slayer action confirmed. A teaser for a new 3D Mario would be a great way to close out the show with a Spring 2026 release date. Finally, bring on more GCN titles, new SEGA reveals, and the rumored 3D OoT remake!!!

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

@breach187
Agreed. This seems like the exact situation where Game-Key cards are needed. A game needs to be fully installed for performance needs, but the company still wants something physically on the shelves for consumers. And Star Wars is definitely a franchise that parents/family would grab for a kid for Christmas. However, for me, most of these situations will push me to wait for a sale and just pick it up digitally.

Re: Poll: When The Heck Is Metroid Prime 4 Actually Launching?

WhiteTrashGuy

Im thinking late September/Early October. PRIME came out in November, DREAD came out in September, and OTHER M came out in late-August, I believe. All the Metroid games seem to be late Summer / early Fall releases. So I am thinking date announced at the next Direct for a release in early October. I am saying the 12th, lol.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Kirby And The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World On Switch 2

WhiteTrashGuy

I really love the style of the game and it was great to see Kirby in a 3D adventure. However, being an early Switch 2 adopter and owning a copy of the game, $20 for an upgrade feels a little much. That being said, I expected Nintendo's DLC upgrades to be $20.00 USD. I just wish I could get the upgraded visuals patch for less and not be forced into the new content.

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

WhiteTrashGuy

After only getting the teaser trailer in April, this was definitely needed. We've seen a fair bit of MP:4 and Hyrule Warriors. HW might slip to late December/Early January, but I am confident MP:4 will be an October release. That last bit of the Direct.... maybe a Story Mode with a new villian?? Oh, and where the heck is my UPRISING HD port!?!?!?!?!?

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct Revealed for Tomorrow, 19th August 2025

So this was always meant to be their big Gamescom game. Awesome. With Gamescom now the new E3 in many respects, it's cool for the Big N to hold back a title for it. Bet it will be playable on the show floor. I'm looking at this as Nintendo's Gamescom presentation, lol. Have high hopes for this as Sakurai has been working on it for some time now.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Partner Direct Predictions - What Do You Expect To See?

WhiteTrashGuy

I love VANQUISH. It blows my mind it did not come to Switch. The PS4 port would fit nicely on the S2, but I am not holding out hope. I really want Indy and DOOM:TDA on S2; so much so that I have held off purchasing them on PS5. I think we might see some Metaphor, Clair Obscur, RDR2, and maybe an extended look at Silksong. TBH, it all seems up in the air at this point. I really hope Microsoft goes full support on the S2, that's what I most want to see.

Re: Anniversary: 10 Years After His Passing, Satoru Iwata's Thoughts Are More Relevant Than Ever

WhiteTrashGuy

The man saw the big picture for Nintendo's path forward. After the struggles of the GCN it was decided that graphics were going to produce diminishing returns and that a focus on inclusivity and gameplay were the way forward. Thus the Blue Ocean strategy was born with the DS and later expanded by the Revolution (later named Wii), these were ways to bring lapsed players back into the fold, interest new players, and widen the idea of what gaming could offer. After the iPhone and subsequent smart devices began stealing pieces of the handheld market, the decision was made to mix the two and expand what could be offered. 3D gaming and console-quality experiences enjoyed on the TV or the couch (the WiiU is the most underrated system of all time next to the Dreamcast). The final push was for the NX, something that would cater to all living situations and fully consolidate Nintendo's development teams together to develop for one system. Looking at the jump from PS4 to PS5, it is clear now that Iwata was right in regards to the graphics race ultimately subsiding. The Switch's success shows that people want flexibility in their gaming. XBOX's "Every screen is an XBOX" initiative and the Playstation Portal show these giants are still trying to playn catch-up with the philosophies that guided the Switch and WiiU. I have wondered quite a bit lately what Iwata would think of the Switch 2's pricing structure. Still, my Switch was named Iwata and my Switch 2 has followed suit (Iwata 2), in honor of the man who saw what the future held and who was brave enough to light the way. You will forever be missed.

Re: Talking Point: One Month On, How Did Nintendo's Switch 2 Launch Go?

WhiteTrashGuy

The launch hype was definitely affected for me when Nintendo did not announce the price during the Direct. It felt like they were trying to hide it. Same thing with the game prices. That put a huge damper on the day. Also, the Game Key-Card messaging should have been better. FInally, not having WELCOME TOUR packed in was the cheapest thing I've ever seen them do; and that's saying something. Additionally, while I respect the mass-market appeal of MKW and their desire to launch the system with a game that fully supports the advantages of GameChat, DKB should have been there day-one as well. As it stands, I have been having fun with MKW, but not having a big single-player adventure was a fail.

I don't think Nintendo can wait that long to release a new Mario. I feel like Monolith Soft is probably helping with the open world while the Mario Team is handling mission structure and mechanics. Fingers crossed it's not 4 .ore years!
