Been playing for the last two days and it's brilliant. The music, the characters, the amazing map of Dracula's castle do discover. My only question I've been going back and forth on.... to Arcane or not to Arcane.
My Limited Run physical copy of TUROK 3 finally came, so I've been rocking that. Finished my first playthrough this morning. Also will be playing RetroRealms HALLOWEEN and EVIL DEAD since my physical copy for that came the same day as well. 'Tis the Season!
Pretty neat way to leverage their IP and amazing catalogue of music. I feel like between this and the Xenoblade Chronicles X announcement there was supposed to be another Nintendo Direct, but perhaps they are drip feeding Switch announcements before a proper Switch 2 reveal sooner than originally intended. #WishfulThinking
I just got my Turok 3 from Limited Run and was playing 2 this weekend, but I do dig me some SHADOW MAN. Of course why WOULDN'T I just buy the Nightdive remaster? I will say, though, I really dig the grindhouse-style trailer NOA put together!
I just remembered that there were, I believe, DK and Bowser Skylanders/Amiibo figures you could use with the Skylanders game. This must have been Vicarious Vision's test run with the character to show they understood the feel of the character and series.
I've also been really wanting a new 3D DK game for the past few years. I've followed Vicarious Visions ever since their amazing Tony Hawk ports for the GBA and think they could have done something really fun. However, I think a 3D DK game would be better suited to the Kirby and the Forgotten Land style of open stages, not open world. I would really dig that.
I got up early for the reveal (7:00 am PST). Was sitting on our loveseat in the living room; all the lights off and just let it wash over me. When the kids got up I promptly showed them and we must have watched the trailer 5 to 10 times before we we were off to work/school. So much wonder and anticipation.
@FishyS The event held in January 2017 was where it was at. That was amazing. I liked this trailer for what it was "The NX (cross) is the promise of us combining our handheld and console divisions both software and hardware wise in order to output great products while continuing the core concept of the WiiU; game with friends on the TV or on the couch."
@joey302 Look up the RetroRealms Double Feature. That's the physical edition. $49.99 USD and includes the DLC characters with your pre-order. The game will act as a virtual-arcade hub with more titles (hopefully) released as DLC or additional physical copies in the future to fill out the arcade space.
I love twin-stick shooters and the awesome dance of melee, bullet dodging, and shooting. This game looks right up my alley. However, the Halloween-time call of Castlevania is strong; on the wishlist this goes.
Wow. Did not expect a 9! The wife just bought a new Switch Lite, so now her and the kids have Lites and I roll the OG Switch so we can definitely take part in the new game modes. Super excited for this!
I have still been hunting for a New 3DS to this day. Ultimately broke down and snagged a used 3DS XL a couple of years ago to have for my kids to use as my wife and I have a pretty sizeable DS/3DS collection. Every time I tried getting the black New 3DS it sold out instantly. My local video game store called me up the other day because they got one in; $250.00 USD. SMH. My launch 3DS is holding on, but I refuse to system transfer until I get a regular sized New 3DS. The XL's screens blow up the picture too much for my tastes. The hunt continues....
I think this thing is awesome. Looks like they definitely pulled some of the tech patented for the QOL device. Heck, this might BE the ultimate form the QOL device took!
I was a huge Itagaki fan back in the 2000s. The first Ninja Gaiden on XBOX was a revelation for me at the time with it and SANDS OF TIME really pushing the action-adventure genre forward. I was pretty psyched when DEVIL'S THIRD was announced for WiiU at E3. Still have my pre-ordered copy. The game is a solid 6 for me. I love the mix of melee and shooting combat and the story/world is amazingly OTT. The analog aiming is completely broken.
Probably due to the development moving between two game engines and three platforms. However, it had my favorite multi-player of all time. Throwing fruit into a giant mixer while having katana battles?? Brilliant. Still holding out hope for a sequel/Switch release. Probably the ONLY one. EDIT: Never mind. Read all of the comments and there is some genuine DT love here!
@B3RTAY I completely agree. After waiting for 5 years, I was expecting the follow-up of 4 to be a lengthy, survival-horror masterpiece with my boy Chris in the leading roll. I didn't have XBOX Live at the time, so I rolled it alone. After pre-ordering the game, my hype was fever pitch. What I got was a short luke-warm action title that hurried the "final" confrontation with Wesker. At least 6 is a meaty adventure. I sold RE5 week after buying it. Probably the biggest let-down in my time as a gamer. And I pre-ordered Superman 64....
This one is hard. After the too short, action-heavy letdown that was RE5 I was very skeptical of this new game. However, the insane control options were pretty innovative IMO. Really gave you a lot of movement options. Also, the different storylines all offered different RE gameplay styles from games past. I give it a 7. I give RE5 a 4. That says it all.
My wife has been waiting YEARS for this! She is beyond excited as she has played through the others multiple times each. Still some of the crowns in our DS / 3DS collection.
It makes me think of two things. The first is a VR spatial sensor as I have felt for years that Labo was a testing ground for an official Switch 2 VR headset. The second, and one I've also been thinking about, is a wireless receiver for the Switch 2; allowing us to use the TV and the Switch as a gamepad so we can finally bring back the WiiU's asymmetrical multi-player (I LOVE YOU NINTENDO LAND and GAME & WARIO!!!!! #NeverForget).
I love KARATE KID and the COBRA KAI games did not do it for me. I was a little underwhelmed with the reveal trailer, but this game is 💯% going on my bloated wishlist (300+ ATM) for when the inevitable sale hits!
MVC2 was part of the Dreamcast rotation in 2000 / 2001. That, Soul Calibur, Power Stone, amd Capcom Vs. SNK. As for arcade play... CotA. I had an N64 during that era and did not get any of the Capcom fighting ports I thought we would with the perfect D-Pad and 6 button placement on the controller. 😞
@Jhena I just went back and watched the trailers since I saw your post. Damn that game is hype! Seriously, the mechs alone make it amazing. I also like the weapons much more than in the other titles. I remember my friend Steve coming over and watching me play it and being blown away that it was on WiiU. He was not happy it was on there. He bought a Switch because he wanted to get into the series, and also because he thought the remastered release of the first one was the same game! There's just something about it that captures the imagination for people of a certain age. #Robotech #Gundam
I really empathize with the XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X letter. I still have my WiiU hooked up and have given the remaster of the original a go, but I am one of those fools that just loves X and need it on new hardware. After it and WIND WAKER / TWILIGHT PRINCESS HD were no-shows at the last proper Direct, I resided myself to believing these three titles will be brought in 4K glory to the Switch 2 (along with F-ZERO GX). I will keep the flame burning as long as it takes, even though I have no plans to disconnect my WiiU. I will wait patiently for the time to double (triple in WW's case) dip.
Forgot this was called Dual Spirits in the East. Loved all the 'DS' titles companies attached to their games. My two favorites; RESIDENT EVIL: DEADLY SILENCE and NINJA GAIDEN: DRAGON SWORD. But I digress. I wish it had been called CONTRA 4: DUAL SPIRITS I'm the West. At least we got the better cover ; ) Oh, and what sort of BS is that... NOT releasing this game in Europe!?!?
While I've been doing a run-through of HOGWARTS LEGACY on Switch instead of PS5, I may have to grab NMH2: DESPERATE STRUGGLE (was this supposed to be a DS game, lol). Other than that, SONIC FRONTIERS and SONIC SUPERSTARS are also on the rotation. And I also just downloaded UNDEFEATABLE, a free PS5 game that is a proof-of-concept for a Superman-style game. The three person team is working on a larger alien-world version for release next year. While it's pretty basic, some of the concepts and controls are interesting and show how easy it would be to get the basics of a good Superman game going from the off. I really wish FACTOR 5 got to do their take. If you like Superman and have a PC or PS5, I suggest throwing on some John Williams, Shirley Walker, or Hans Zimmer and giving it a go!
Went with the Standard copy; OoE cover. I have the Classic Edition of the Advance Collection and it was well worth the money as the GBA games are my jam for these releases (I don't care what anyone says, SotN is in its own league entirely.) I liked the first 2 DS titles, but have never played OoE. Basically got it to have a physical copy of that. May buy it digitally before my copy comes next year. (Still waiting on my VHS Edition of the JP Collection!).
I watched the IGN live feed yesterday on the PS5 PRO. When the price was revealed, I just chuckled. As we near the end of this current Gen of XBOX and PS systems, cross-gen releases will be even more important; like playing on PC with scaled down settings. This is due to the fact that install bases will not grow that quickly if systems will be $700.00 USD+. The average consumer will not go for it. This situation shows Nintendo was extremely prescient with their predictions that graphics will continue to have diminishing returns starting in the 360/PS3 era and is why they started opting for less powerful/more affordable hardware. If the Switch2 can launch at $399.99 USD to $499.00 USD with backwards compatibility then it will be an easy upgrade to entice players with. Also, keeping physical media alive will be a big selling point for a lot of gamers.

Re: Reaction: Rest Easy, Folks, Your Switch Backlog Ain't Going Anywhere
I have over 600 Switch titles. I hope the majority of them (3/4 are digital) will be playable with upgraded performance. That would be fantastic.
Re: Mini Review: Vampire Survivors: Ode To Castlevania (Switch) - Divine DLC Is Absolutely Essential

Well okay, then.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Xenoblade Chronicles X For Switch?
I love this game. It's my favorite of the Xenoblade Chronicles titles. If I can swing it, then Day One.

We need KILLER 7. That was the game that pulled me into Suda's work.
