@Scollurio You took the words right out of my mouth. I HATE all of these new games that look like they were drawn in Flash! The Behemoth know what they are doing. I love ALIEN HOMINID and CASTLE CRASHERS, but there are so many RPGs and Action titles that go for this aesthetic and it just comes off looking cheap.
@Mana_Knight I will put down cash the day pre-orders open if it's backwards compatible. If not.... Probably not until late 2025 or early 2026. I gots enough to play on my OG Switch, PS5, and Quest 2 (for now, lol).
@Kiyata I've been thinking about this too. Have dock offer wireless connectivity to the TV for WiiU style games like Nintendoland. One of the reasons we still have the WiiU hooked up! Too many good 2 screen experiences.
@Anachronism I hear that! Our family owns about 100 physical games and over 600 digitally on our Switches (5 total). I hope I can finally finish OUTER WORLDS on the Switch 2!!!
@Enigk I've thought about that too. That being said, I understood the WiiU ports as there were so many development dollars spent on great games that only a small percentage of people got to play. I hope they offer downloadable upgrade patches like Sony did with GHOSTS OF TSUSHIMA. I did this with my PS4 copy when I got my wife her PS5 and it was excellent. $15.00 USD and I was good to go! Of course, Nintendo will probably charge $20.00 USD, LOL.
It's the one thing that will get early adopters like myself to purchase within the first 6 months of the system's life. It will also ensure through-sales of existing Switch software if they will run on the new hardware. Add some performance patches or software upgrades as Playstation does for its last-gen titles and there will be easy money for the Big-N. They have to keep the ball rolling and have a Switch ecosystem for at least the next 5 to 8 years. After that.... Who knows....
I just don't see it happening. I know people think it will because the original Switch Trailer dropped in October, but that was when the WiiU was not selling. The Switch is still moving quite a bit of systems and I don't see Nintendo releasing anything that could dissuade consumers.... Unless it's backwards compatible ; ). I mean, don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see a trailer!
First! Just to be first! LOL. Seriously, though, the family is super-psyched for SMP:JAMBOREE!! After the let-down of the first SMP, and the solid 8 goodness of SUPERSTARS, I have high hopes. It looks like it's already rectifying the main issue with SMP; lack of maps!
All I've wanted since these collections started were MVC2 and CVS1. Have already pre-ordered a physical copy of the Marvel Collection. Will definitely be getting this physically as well. Power Stone 1&2 is the cherry on top. #DreamcastLoveForever
This was my game of the Summer. I tried to put it in the back of my mind and wait for a sale, but ended up downloading it a couple days after release. It's basic for sure. Not as layered as HADES. But, man, as a TMNT fan, I could not get enough. Every time I pick it up I have to do a run with each of the boys. I was just wishing that it had more playable characters and DLC. MY BODY IS READY!!!!
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! Another amazing Treasure developed high-octane shooter with some great control and a varied move set. This and FF ORIGINS had a permanent place in my GBA SP at the time. Sadly, all were stolen when someone broke one of the back door windows of my car. Still one of my saddest losses as this game sells for a pretty-penny now on the aftermarket. Oh, and NA FTW cover-wise!
This is a really tricky situation. I mean, traditionally, Nintendo hardware has had price-cuts throughout their respective life cycles. This did not happen with the Switch. Just now are we seeing retailer deals for the Lite at around $160.00 USD here in the States. Nintendo MAY drop the original Switch to $250.00 with the OLED at $300.00. However, this will not stop the Switch 2 from launching at $400.00 USD. I can't see a $500.00 USD price-point. I feel like it will prohibit people from upgrading and may persuade them to buy a Steam Deck instead. $400.00 USD seems like the sweet spot.
Of course rocking the Splatoon 3 Tetris 99 event. However, stumbled across the GORI: CUDDLY CARNAGE demo and I'm hooked. Have already ran through the demo several times and rocked the arena mode; and this was all last night and this morning. The resolution is in the toilet in order to secure a fairly smooth framerate, but it's the over-the-top combat and hover- board-locomotion system that makes it a joy to play. I am sure it will get a 5 or 6 in reviews, but I'm really loving it. Need to see of PS5 has a demo.
@Scoopz I would rather have a game that worked on 2 systems than 1. Like with many of my PS4 games. They run on my PS5 as if I was playing on a PS4 PRO. MP4 for Switch 1 and then upgraded performance if I drop it in my new system.
@Scoopz I know what a cross-gen release means. I bought TP at the Wii launch and BotW at the Switch launch. What I was saying was that I hope they DON'T do that. I want them to just release it on Switch 1 and through backwards compatibility you can play it on Switch 2, but to have a patch on the Switch 2 that increases framerate and resolution.
@Scoopz The footage shown looked to be Switch1 for sure. I am still holding out hope that the S2 will be backwards compatible with 90% of the S1 catalog so games will run better on S2 with a patch. I will not buy a 60fps BotW or TotK and I think most S1 owners are in the same boat. If that is not the case, then MP4 will definitely be a cross-platform release. However, Metroid is not Zelda in the sense that it will do large numbers or convince people to jump to a new console right away. A new Mario would definitely do that.
We are probably looking at a January/February reveal with a Spring launch. I am thinking a new 3D Mario will be the launch title as that will really bring back the nostalgia feels of having a new Mario on Day One. This leaves MP4 releasing around March as the last big Switch 1 title.
The first CAPCOM VS. SNK is next for me after the MARVEL collection. I want these all on hard copy for my Switch. Capcom is doing pretty awesome lately; really hitting the fans where they need it. Konami's collections have been decent, now we just need more new stuff!
Ah, yes, the Flipper (I believe GPU)! The beginning of a great relationship with AMD and in my mind the project that put them on the map. The texture compression in that thing was light years ahead and was able to stream and unpack data super fast off the mini-DVDs.
Throw in Factor 5's audio compression and the GCN was a marvel. In many ways it was more powerful than the PS2 and a match for the XBOX. Nintendo really came out swinging with that system.
I've been playing SPLINTERED FATE pretty much non-stop since it launched. Such a great love-letter to TMNT fans. I wish there was a greater variety in environments, but I see DLC in this game's fututre.
I was just about to sign up too. No joke. I've missed getting a gaming mag in the mail. I will see if I can go snag the last issue from GameStop this weekend.
@Game_Boi Yep. At that point it would be a monthly digital subscription service. Luckily, we have Nintendo who are probably at least one or two life cycles away from that nightmare of a future.
Going into this, I really thought I would be voting N64 or GBA (honestly, my favorite Big N format are the GCN DVDs). But I voted for the 3DS. I love the look, size, and weight. They are all still safe and pretty in my case. Much more substantial than the OG DS and Switch formats.
@WaveBoy Completely agree. While TOXIC CRUSADERS looks like a decent update of the NES/GENESIS title, G.I. JOE looks like a crappy web-based game. So sad. MMPR looks fantastic!
I was literally watching a Genesis/Mega Drive "Best Of" compilation yesterday and snickered when this popped up. Thought to myself "So when are Aero and Boogerman coming to Switch??". Guess I know part of the answer now. :/ Now 7-UP needs to get off their butts and give me COOL SPOT!!!
I really want this game, but $30.00 USD seems a little steep for a game originally developed for mobile. That being said, there are many mobile games that have surprised me and that I have purchased on Switch. Might just have to take the plunge as this looks like the perfect Summer game ( I LOVE BEING A TURRRRTLLE!!!!).

This should be a 10.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Pokémon Colosseum
They all work, though I'm not a big fan of the overall design. I ultimately chose Japan's.
Re: Talking Point: What Game Should Be 'Switch 2's 'Skyrim Moment'?
ELDEN RING would be it's "Skyrim" moment. But I picked Baldur's Gate 3 as that's the game I want to play.
Re: Night Slashers: Remake Brings Horror Arcade Beat 'Em Up To Switch This Month

I just ordered the MagicX XU Mini M for that exact purpose.

Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?
I could see $500.00 USD if Mario Odyssey 2 is bundled with it. Classic NES/SUPER NES style.
