When the trailer started I could tell it was going to be a game. I thought to myself wow this looks like a computer game, I’ve seen these before and I can just tell - it’s a gift of mine. And do you know what else I thought?! I thought it’s going to be awesome and I don’t give a monkeys what console it’s on. I want to play it.

I’m hovering over the purchase button waiting for a performance update. Then it’ll sit in my backlog for a number of years.

There is another factor here that makes these numbers even more astounding and that is that console and game prices haven’t followed inflation. Ie a switch today costs approximately the same as N64 (launch priced £250) back in the day. Same with the games. Turok launched at £70 IIRC. So the fact that the profits - even after adjusting for inflation - are so much higher when the tech in real terms is much cheaper blows my mind. Strong work Ninty!

This is a great read, thank you for sharing. I have a number of games that I can’t go back to because they transport me back to an unhappy time in my life. But this has made me think perhaps I should go back and complete them for some sort of closure.

The original 30 day time limit was genius! Such pressure. This was Miyamoto’s original vision and for me it’s the best because of it.

Assuming the Super Switch is backwards compatible I really hope devs release patches to unlock Super Switch performance on games like this.

@Mr_Monochrome but if you’ve already purchased them you don’t need a subscription service because you’ve already got them. Doesn’t the license dictate that you can play the game on a particular console? Not on every machine that the company ever puts out
