Been playing RERequiem handheld today and I am absolutely astounded that the game is native 360 and DLSS up to 720. The game looks so nice. Ok a little pixelated in the hair but the rest is phenomenal. How the hell does DLSS work its magic? Mindblowing
Also the ticking low rumble really adds to the creepiness. Genius.
I remember at one point I was cycling between playing Luigi's Mansion 2, RER and SML3D with the 3D cranked to the max ofc and a sprinkling of Metroid Fusion through B/C as well and thinking what a great rotation of games on such a great console. Happy times. Isn't funny how video games can make us feel. Love love love the 3DS.
BRING IT (THEM) ON!!!! Triple pack ordered. Playing REmake, RE:zero and RE4 on GC at Uni were some of the best gaming experiences I can remember. Since then I dabbled in 5 and 6, played through and liked RER and RER2, didn't have a PS at time of RE7 and have been waiting patiently for this day to come. Can't wait play in bed with headphones on.
What I’m impressed with here is that most multiplatorm games in the charts are selling well on S2 despite its far smaller install base and weaker specs compared to PS5. Reanimal selling 18% - for a demanding modern game - is encouraging in my view. Dragon Quest 38% - nice. Split fiction 33%. Add to this the success of the first party titles and I think this is a great start in UK and will only get better when some big hitters come. These numbers show there are plenty S2 consoles out in the wild in UK and a thirst for multiplatform games. All this talk of consoles not selling in UK… I’’m not so sure. Numbers look good to me.
I’m really pumped for this. I have a few PS5 friends and they are pumped for this as well. I want to get the S2 version as Bond feels at home on Ninty so really hoping it’s a good port.
@Pillowpants yeh I’m the same. It would be good to have some serious competition like in the PES v FIFA days. Keep EA on their toes and give consumers some market choice - an essential component for this capitalism BS timeline we’re stuck in to actually function.
Cyberpunk and GRID Legends for sure. Kids are still obsessed with free roam in MKW so I’ll be helping them with that. Pesky Peach Medallions. Perhaps some F1 on PS5 as well if I can wrestle control of the TV!!
@Mattlong78 I’m sort of the same as you but lots of people like these detailed comparisons and analyses so I’m happy they exist. I do get sucked in sometimes and have to pull myself out and think how far games have come. I was there at the start. Ultimately all the technological wizardry means nothing unless the game is fun. And this Demo is fun so … nailed on purchase I think.
This is rapidly moving into my definite buy category and it’s good to see S2 punching above its weight thanks to work of competent devs. Compare this to Skyrim S2 version!! lol. It’s good to have choice - PS5 tethered to the wall but with some sweet looking graphics or S2 with still very competent performance and option to pick up and play anywhere. Good job Capcom!
@AppleBlade you make a good point. Difference is the S2 is selling -even without some massive system sellers- and some people will no doubt pick up the odd third party port they may have missed on PS5/xbox. I think the third party support has made a good start on S2. Problem with WiiU was third party games didn’t sell so support dried up rapidly. Hopefully these games on Switch 2 will sell and keep the momentum going. I’m doing my part.
@ToniK I hope this is good. The original (£70!!) 1997 game holds a special place in my heart. It was part adventure with light puzzle elements, part FPS and part horror. Yes that fog! What’s beyond that fog? A bloody T-Rex! Holy moly, I’ve only got a bow and arrow and a pretty useless pistol with limited ammo. Ok maybe I’m overplaying the horror part but being chased by a raptor in 3D coming from 2D gaming was unbelievably special back in the day. I really hope this is good!
@AlanShore I see where you’re coming from with the price but that’s quite a claim that only Nintendo-only players enjoyed MP4 with zero to back it up. MP4 is very well polished and in my experience, enjoyable game. Not a buggy mess like a lot of the more ambitious and supposedly high quality titles I’ve played elsewhere. Yes I’m a PS5 and Switch gamer that liked MP4.
Please calm down everyone! These are sales up to the end of Dec only. And Metroid sales were split over two consoles so combined they may well be over a Milly but not included in report. Let’s wait for the next financial report before jumping to conclusions.
@ShadLink yep and over a third of top 40 are First Party titles. Insane. Obviously UK isn’t as big as US or Japan market but it’s still the 6th largest global economy so this is great for Nintendo’s coffers!
I’m guessing either some people have actually seen MP4 running on a console now and thought “what the beep was the internet on about- this game is actually good” or it’s been discounted and got a little sales boost. Does anyone have any idea?
My last day 1 RE purchase was RE4 on GC which blew my mind. So absolutely pumped for RE9 and will pick up 7&8 as well at some point. Although it’ll be digital for me. None of this GKC nonsense.
Edit: having said that the generations pack is so cheap. I didn’t realise it was all three titles! Thought it was just 7&8. Holy mackerel that’s good value.
I still play GRID autosport with my original GC wavebird and USB adapter. So this is an absolute no brainer for me. Feral know what they are doing. Will miss multiplayer but doesn't sound essential for this more story driven title. Now where’s F1 Codemasters?
I must be weird but I really enjoyed every moment and looking forward to replaying on hard! I have some minor criticisms but they don’t stop the enjoyment for me.
If they release a proper S2 upgrade and DLC I’m in - no questions asked. Such an engaging game. The story and character building, and sense of exploration are phenomenal.
My view is as they front loaded the sales a slight drop off was somewhat inevitable plus with macroeconomic headwinds etc I’m not in any way surprised sales might have slowed. But still it is the fastest selling console of ALL TIME. Personally I’ve been more than happy with the game selection so far with - presumably - some big hitters in the works (3D Mario, Pokémon etc) to get the juices really flowing. Also with games like RE9 coming same day as other consoles the future for strong third party support is (fairly) bright. I’m a happy customer and I’m looking forward to 2026. The cherry would be a new WAVE RACE!
Finished MP4 this weekend and enjoyed every second. Plus as it's not a long game I am already looking forward to re-running on hard. And I must say I think the hate towards the game is overblown. I so hope MP5 has been greenlit. I can see Retro building on what they've tried to achieve in MP4 but nailing the format next time with some more open elements yet retaining the classic Metroid immersion, exploration and interconnected world.
Meh, hardly annoying at all. Also you can turn off tutorials which takes away some of the hand holding - but not Myles on the Radio it must be said. The game is not trying to be MP1, it’s a little different and I like the intention. I do wish the biomes were interconnected and the desert area a little more imaginative but apart from that it’s a very enjoyable and beautiful game in my opinion. 88/100
@Danrenfroe2016 depends on the car. I have burnout paradise as well and the difference in handling between the cars in Burnout is pretty minimal - arcade racing. GRID autosport is much more authentic in terms of handling which varies massively from car to car and is as close to a driver sim as we’ve got on Switch. Can tweak the car set ups to suit your style etc. It’s a driver’s dream and hits a lovely 60FPS in performance mode. I just wish the online didn’t die so soon after launch.
@Max_the_German I use my Wavebird with GRID Autosport and I expect them to keep that functionality for this beauty! BUt yes I wish the Switch2PC had analogue triggers.
Hopefully they are sweet-tuning Pikmin 4 S2edition and using the knowledge gained to inform Pikmin 5 development. Is it too soon to start praying for Pikmin 5?
Gushing praise for MP4’s visuals by DF?! Nice one! It really is the best looking Nintendo game I’ve ever played. It’s so shiny and polished!! Love Retro. The original Windwaker or F-zero GX on a small to medium CRT takes some beating but I think MP4 S2ed takes the crown.
Hunting green crystals - wife wasn't happy me spending money on myself so close to Xmas when it could be spent on the kids so I’m playing a ‘free extended demo of MP4’. 🤫
Being an 80s child this game is hitting me right in the nostalgias so I'm in! Linear games are the perfect tonic after some recent big open world affairs (looking at CyberPunk and Outlaws).
@Axelay71 didn't you get the memo?! EVERY game must now be shoe horned into an open world because because... ( I can't remember the reason but trust me every game must MUST be open world).

I thought the direct was pretty good. Definitely getting Turok! RE9 (&7&8)!!!
Most likely Pragmata, Rave Racer,
Possibly PGA2K25

Cyberpunk 2077 and GRID Legends for sure. If I get time I will start Metroid Prime 4 on hard and keep hunting those Peach Medallions in MKW.
