@Waluigi451
This is a deliberately obtuse take since these are obviously on a sliding scale. The subgenre in question is taking a traditional table game (card or board), turning it into a score chaser, then adding a roguelike progression system. But you knew that.

@MamaSymphonia
They don't. One can want their values promoted on a social level without being promoted on a legal level. Also a specific example was given regarding the rainbow of how the borrowing was a bit too on the nose for taste.

Re: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Let's You Fight Joan Of Arc And Explore Notre Dame In New Trailer

It's weird that a French team wants to fight a variation on Joan of Arc, so there must be more than meets the eye here. Castlevania has often had fights with mind-controlled protagonists, but a historical one is new.

Just today I heard an interview with an exorcist (not French) who said every demon has a nemesis in heaven who they're afraid of and that Satan himself has Joan of Arc. Believe what your lights tell you, but either way that's pretty awesome for Joan of Arc lore. Ironic then for her to be corrupted in this game. πŸ™ƒ

I believe this is the first first-party $40 game since Metroid Prime Remastered. I thought that would be the final one. And they didn't even utilize their new differentiated pricing for physical/digital. They could have easily made the physical $50 and digital $40 with the same amount of goodwill generated.

@Dee123
You went all-in with the "completely." These are the final two first-party games to be released on the Switch. Smh

Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.6.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@Yoshi3 I've long thought the 2nd biggest problem with Mario Kart was an inadequate sense of place. This quality enhances immersion just as much as graphics or story and is why side-scrolling open world (Metroidvania) is so popular. The open world helps with this. The hidden objects in the open world and the return of the Feather item mean that those who wanted a 3D Mario platformer at launch got one.

Of the three major changes that people on this very site suggested--Smash Kart, Tour-like lap variations, and open world--this gave us two of them.

@Bats1234 As a physical owner, it's whatever. HOWEVER, after eshop service goes down someday, I wonder if Nintendo could have update game cards that people could buy at cost. Like all first party published games for a certain number of years for $10-15 by mail order. It seems technologically feasible. And then they could also include in it overt permission to update other people's consoles so friends can mix and match. And then perhaps some third party publishers could do that even if as a group.

He's explaining how generative AI works. Your questions are obtuse. If a company with LOTS of IP uses AI to remix existing concepts, say Game freak coming up with "new" pokemon, then they wouldn't need to use external assets. That's not the case here. And there likely aren't enough public domain assets of this type for them to have come from.
