I just learned that you can use eshop credit on Nintendo.com towards hardware. That means I can get $100 of eshop credit at Sam's Club for $90 and buy a Switch 2 for $405 rather than $450. This totally negates the price hike due in the fall for NA.
I guessed the "nothing for me this week" exactly this time.
Also, maybe I misremembered, but usually MSRP is shown in these, right, not introductory sale prices which is what's reflected in Stray and some others?
@Banjo- I have a hunch (but only that) that it's Next Level Games. They've been quiet lately and need another franchise to rotate between now with longer console generations.
The biggest issue for me with SF64 on NSO is when using dual analog. Pressing down and left C to somersault works when it's a distinct button, but down on one analog stick and left on the other, if you can get past the pat-your-head-while-rubbing-your-tummy nature of that, was too imprecise. I'd be angled too far down and would do a U-turn, or it just wouldn't do anything.
Now with more buttons at their disposal, have they fixed this? Or should I still play this on the N64 pad? @AlexOlney (sorry to bug you on paternity leave)
Edit: It has been a while, and I might have details wrong. Perhaps it toggles cockpit view. At any rate, I recall being disoriented.
I hope Fearfa doesn't have that screaming during the game. Awful, but the premise is creative.
Mono Wave is definitely up my alley. Super creative. Being impatient, I hate tutorials and unfamiliar controls, so I like platformers where the game is the tutorial.
Obviously WTF will have its own maps, but selling your game as "Titanfall but with waifus" reveals how derivative it is and makes it seem as artistic as a puerile rom hack from back in the day. I don't see the value in highlighting things like that.
@Trikeboy Also two screens that are the same distance are easier to glance between than screens at different distances. Irises got quite a workout adjusting so fast.
@rjejr As soon as they announced it, I thought about ports like city builders. Then after 5 minutes I realized the probable 4D chess: online advantage of FPS games. PC and Switch 2 will be the place to play.
In fact, now that Game Pass won't include COD, watch it sell more on Switch 2 than Xbox.
I guess these Switch 1 and 2 cartridges can be described as like GBC Shantae. Since GBA is backwards compatible with GBC games, the devs were able to add some GBA-exclusive features.
Technically as long as slime and one other monster are in it, then it features characters from Toriyama. I worry that they were so committed to using only his characters that they combed through his leftover sketches after his passing and picked this abomination as protagonist.
Perhaps relatedly, while he has muscular arms, the image says "their." Maybe they want the gamer to be able to choose gender and not just name (but not a total Mii-style character builder) and so went for a somewhat androgynous look. Not that the DQ11 hero doesn't look androgynous in the other direction.
This lends credence to the idea that this game was hatched after they thought to put Fox into the movie which itself appears to have been because of a Glen Powell tweet. Can more actors please do this? 😏
After playing the demo for Gunvolt 3, I'm open-minded to this series. But I'm not Copen-minded enough to play a game as a protagonist with such a bad name. (I know that's just a rationalization for when you have too many games.)
@jfp Yeah like that new Divinity game teaser from The Game Awards. Things like that are distastefully puerile and juvenile, or as my mom would say when I'd play Turok, "That doesn't LOOK very mature!"
I love Dotemu, but this was maybe the worst "trailer" of all-time, if it even qualifies as that. And that's coming from someone who never misses TGA and Summer Game Fest.
They really do need more SP editions, especially for consoles where the game design meant unlocking all the modes, cups, vehicles, levels, etc. I'm looking at you, N64.
Definitely watch the trailers of the Q games (no relation to Dylan Cuthbert's studio), as they're pretty inventive. However, the collection bizarrely costs double what the included games cost separately.
@SirLink Nah they do this with most major releases, even third party. They're making sure their readers are exposed conveniently to additional opinions which is right noble of them.
Give me a chance to wake up to Lake Lamode before you nudge me with Fossil Falls and before you blast me with Jump Up Superstar. My snooze system is kind of like a playlist. I already wake up to Northwest Frost Street from Kirby and the Forgotten Land which would be great for Alarmo. Hearing Mario coins as I move though is not the positive feedback this ad seems to think it is.
And I was just about to get the physical finally. Maybe I should wait on a definitive or anniversary version a la SOR4 or Bloodstained ROTN.
I'm trying to warm up to the fact that this lacks entire standard brawler attack categories like grappling (for all characters) by recognizing that it features things many brawlers lack--like flying.

It's right around the 64gb mark, so hopefully this can be all on card.

Some others pointed it out but didn't tag you. The year should say 2027.

That's an amazing tip. Thank you.

Re: Digital Eclipse Brings A Bunch Of Classic Toy Story Games To Switch 1 & 2 This Year
I wouldn't normally care about interviews for these games, but I guess it's the origin story of a studio that's still with us and quite prolific.

It hadn't occurred to me until now that:
Fox = Leonardo
Falco = Raphael
Slippy = Donatello
Peppy = Splinter

I'm surprised the Switch percentage is so high for EA Sports FC.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: WarioWare, Inc: Mega Party Game$!
I've never seen the regions so color-coded like that before. Although not really coded, just color-distinct.
Good choice, NL. And good choice, voters. 😄

I don't see any locking on. And are there mouse movements that will prompt the advanced moves? That seems like a liability if so.
Re: First Light's Switch 2 Release Date Is Still MIA, But Bond's Off To A Flying Start Elsewhere
Is 1.5 million in a day a good number, or is this like a Square Enix situation of never being satisfied?

If it's memory causing prices to go up, that shouldn't make a difference between OLED and LCD.

I also voted Euro for gameplay reasons, but I still think there's something off about that shade of green. It might just be the scan though.
