Still a little concerned there is no Switch 2 version, but hopefully this runs fine and isn't too crusty on Switch 1. Have a feeling an upgrade might come later regardless.
The original is a top ten of all time for me, so the care and effort put into the remake is so nice to see. I'm here blasting through all the stages again and again trying to score medals and remembering routes and absolutely loving it.
The challenge mode is also awesome. As someone who constantly replayed the original just to score attack, it adds even more replay to a game that is already all about that for me.
The multiplayer is also surprisingly good and has its hooks in me currently. Don't sleep on that part!
I know some are down on it for not being an entirely original game, but as a sort of "restart" of the series (as the title and rumors have suggested), SF64 is undoubtedly the best starting point and my goodess if we get a sequel that is more of what is offered here I will be in heaven.
Game has really grabbed me. It is very rare for me to sit and play games for more than an hour at a time these days but I've had a few three hour sessions with this game already because of how expansive and fun it is to get around and explore.
I had a feeling something wonky was going on with the Switch 2 version given there's no eshop page for it. It also just seems like there has been some confusion about it altogether.
I hope the game is decent. I haves some interest in it.I don't have the time to try it out at launch, so hopefully when the Switch 2 version is ready so am I.
I admit I never had any interest in it in the first place so perhaps I'm wrong, but the game seems to really have just came and went on every other platform.
I liked the different perspectives quite a bit and left Grace in first person because it just kinda felt more "designed" that way right from the start.
I'm about 15 hours in and enjoying it but I know when I need to step away and do something else or play a game that's more "productive" than fighting the same boss 50 times.
And in reality it isn't even the actual bosses. It's the runbacks from the bench that add precisely zero to the game other than to compound the frustration. (in this and all games with the mechanic).
I like the NA one mostly because it is what I know. Both are pretty bad, though.
I remember the ad run in game magazine at the time featuring the lady showing..uh... different parts of her body and trying to wonder what the hell kind of game it was.
I've yet to play it but what I've seen sure hasn't bothered me. I guess time will tell, but I've never really been put off a Nintendo developed game because of performance issues yet. I think my tolerance for such things is pretty high in general though.
Regardless, maybe they keep chipping away at it to optimize.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Star Fox On Switch 2?
Probably a 9.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Link's New Ocarina Of Time Design?
So far so great.
Anyone making any huge judgements from so little footage is a little strange imo.
Re: Crystal Dynamics Comments On Its Use Of AI In Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis
Anyway, there sure are a lot of games on my wishlist and in my backlog that haven't used any AI.
Lots to be excited about.
Re: Mina The Hollower Sold 300,000 Copies In Its First Three Days
Great news. They deserve the success.

Re: The Witcher 3 Is Getting A New Expansion, But Not On Switch
I'm still hoping for a Switch 2 version of even just the original release.

Re: Borderlands 4 Switch 2 Port Could Still Happen, But It's Not A Priority Right Now

Neat.
Give me hockey already.
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Director Breaks Down Players' Camera Preferences
I liked the different perspectives quite a bit and left Grace in first person because it just kinda felt more "designed" that way right from the start.
The option to swap them is great, though.

Making GKC's look great.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Playing Final Fantasy XIV Online On Switch 2?
Can defo see myself giving it a shot with that first month and seeing how I get on with it.
Not played an MMO for many, many years, but a Switch 2 version would be my way in, for sure.
Re: Looks Like 'Mina The Hollower' Will Be Getting A New Release Date Soon

Re: Limited Run Games Is Bringing NES 'Jaws' To Switch Later This Week
Interesting.
Re: Pragmata Looks Awesome In New Switch 2 Trailer, Free Demo Arrives Today
Demo was a fantastic little slice of what the game plays like IMO. Really, really enjoy the way it feels, as well as the aesthetic of it all.
Looks and runs quite nice, too. Capcom are doing it right.
I'm almost certainly in on day one for a Switch 2 version.
Re: Pragmata Lands April Release Date And A New Switch 2 Demo
Excellent. Been super hyped for this and looking forward to a console demo.
Leaning toward Switch 2 version. Hope it performs well (it looks like it does)

Thanks though.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Mario Power Tennis (GameCube)
The Japanese one looks like a cropped magazine ad or something. I like the idea but not the execution, I guess.
Re: Beyblade X: Evobattle - Switch 2 Edition Out This Week, Includes Paid Upgrade Path For Switch Players
I saw "Blade" and "X" and was excited for my Xenoblade 60 FPS patch for a split second.
Carry on.

Surreal to believe this game will finally be upon us in a month. Can't wait.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition?
I don't have any great desire to return to the game currently, but if/when I do, I'd buy the upgrade pack for sure.
We'll see.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?
Most likely day one. Physical.
Actually been really in the mood for some Warriors action, so it is coming at the right time for me.

Well now I guess I have to get it.
Re: Mini Review: Xenotilt: Hostile Pinball Action (Switch) - The Balatro Of Pinball Games
Loving it so far. Great game to play for a bit inbetween story based game sessions.
Still learning a lot about the board, but it really is instantly engaging.
Re: Xenotilt, The Eye-Melting Sequel To Demon's Tilt, Is Out Now On Switch
Wait, what?
GIMME.
Re: Retro Zelda-Inspired Adventure 'Mina The Hollower' Has Been Delayed For Switch 2 And Switch
I'm selfishly okay with this. way too many games releasing at the same time right now.
Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?
Not yet.
Far too many great games on my plate currently and out in the very near future, so it's a pass for now.
Fantastic games and can see myself buying and playing eventually, but I'm in no rush.

Re: The Switch eShop Is Buckling Under The Weight Of Silksong
Worked fine for me in NA, but I wasn't there trying to buy it as soon as the shop updated. 40 minutes later.
Looking forward to putting in an hour or two today.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong's Price Has Been Officially Announced
I never really get too up in arms about prices either way, but that's gonna be a steal.
Re: Video: We Bought 100 Copies Of Mario Paint... For Science
Loved it. A Gameboy Camera video like this would be tons of fun, too.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Finally Has A Release Date
What a beautiful trailer.
Game looks as special as expected.
Re: Futuristic Deep Sea Adventure 'Glaciered', Swims Onto Switch 2 This Winter
Looks fantastic. Game of the direct for me. Keeping my eye on it for sure.
Anything underwater always gets my attention big time. The setting and premise look great.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Blast Corps
I always appreciated the "Street level" perspective of the NA/EU art, and it is what I know so it gets my vote this time.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Switch 2 Rating Spotted Online
I'd probably give it a go on my Switch 2. I've not bothered with an AC since Black Flag, but it looks decent.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Director Acknowledges Performance Drops: "We Prioritized Fun And Playability"

Re: Ys X: Proud Nordics Reportedly Includes 120fps Performance Mode On Switch 2
Finished it on Switch a few months ago and had a pretty great time. Performance issues and all.
Still kind of confused as to exactly what this game is, but regardless, a Switch 2 version is great if you've still not tried it.
Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Switch 2 And Switch Games Launching In July 2025
Interested in Tony Hawk but also curious to see more footage of it before I dive in.
