Game Key Card so hard pass. Not gonna get sucked into this illusion of a "physical" that they keep pushing on us.

It's not "physical" if it's a GKC.

Not really that impressive considering how many are GKC. So far it seems like the Switch 1 really was the last proper console.

This is bullsh**, they could've just been physical but still install the files onto the console itself or other methods. It's not like there's just one way to do full physical, they're just being disingenuous about it.

Damn. SwitchForce didn't *****, I'm pleasantly surprised as I never really had much of an issue with them, but Reddit seem to really hate them.

Well this article didn't age well considering the new video with 40 minutes of gameplay. The game looks impressively fine. Not touching it cuz GKC, but it still isn't anything as reported.

How can Nintendo do this legally?

This is such a bad look for them, granted it will have no impact on their business. A whole new low for them.

Can't believe it's happening, but I think we're actually entering the dark ages of Nintendo. What the hell is going on with them, can't believe they've dropped the ball this hard on Switch 2.

Love how people base their argument on absolutely no data, regarding the loss of sale.

If Nintendo and other companies want to combat piracy, then stop taking advantage of your consumers and screwing them over every chance you get, and stop with the cynical attempts at getting adults and kids addicted to monetization schemes. These companies aren't defenseless or barely surviving the market. They're fine, and most are thriving despite of piracy. Piracy has just been an excuse for the big companies to implement non-consumer friendly systems that empowers them and screws over the consumer.

Elden Ring is such a great game to have a physical of, and they really don't need the extra savings. It'll even boost their sales as there are several people, inc. myself, who boycotts these.

Definitely getting this for my Switch. With the whole game key card, I don't have much faith in the future of gaming on Nintendo consoles staying physical.

@ear_wig The resell argument is actually completely moot when you see how low prices get on a lot of those digital sales they have on eShop.

Lol. I think they will be shocked by lack of sale on those game key cards. Most people will opt for either boycotting or buying the games fully digital.

Easy purchase if it's an actual physical release with everything on the cartridge.

@PessitheMystic Was thinking the same, but you have to remember that -especially- this being a Nintendo console, a lot of people that preorder aren't necessarily consumers who read video game news or stay up to date on what's going on in the game industry or anything related to video games.

So glad to see this being reported and spread to the public. Can't believe I'm seeing consumers defending or justifying this.

Great! But must say that the newest rumour (if true) really have ruined any hope or expectation for this new console. Supposedly the console needs Internet activation to actually work (at least for Switch 1 games).
