@RupeeClock "Why does an MMO, a genre of game specifically about engaging with other real players, need AI to assist new players like this?"
Because profit margins. Companies only care about things that justify lower costs, which AI does if you can accept the extreme reduction to quality, which these companies clearly are okay with. It's not gonna be long until we see a huge reduction in quality in a lot of the things we enjoy because of greedy companies opting for use of AI.
Then I guess DQX will never be touched. Never thought until now that AI might be the possible death of video games down the line, if companies keep trying to pushing for AI.
I don't really see an issue here. Localization is just adaptation of already existing content to a new market. Unless meaning is lost, then it's not an issue if it isn't idiomatic or relevant to the source language, it's the target language and the target market that matters. Yes, you can definitely argue that English is 'simplistic' (to understand grammatically) compared to other languages, but that is not the same as it's simplistic when it comes to localization for the English market. So unless I misread or misunderstood something, I don't think this guy really understands the process of localization for the English market or the English language when it regards to localization.
Edit: Also, how can the guy complain about it ultimately sounding 'simplistic' when DQ7 has like a ton of different accents/dialects.
Europe, easily. The extra character, the nice blend of colors, the quality of the illustration, the poses. And of course, that square box for "Gamecube" is so harsh on the eyes compared to the nice curve of the European version.
@TheExile285 It already did if you look at how desperate some of these companies are becoming in investing and creating a market for AI. Just look at Microsoft struggling to get its users to use AI.
So yeah, it's popped it's just that they don't want to admit it.
Just goes to prove what so many of us have stated. GKC are just pure greed and bullsh*t. Can't believe the minority of people that actually dump their money on these not understanding they are just shooting themselves in the foot.
This is bullsh**, they could've just been physical but still install the files onto the console itself or other methods. It's not like there's just one way to do full physical, they're just being disingenuous about it.
Well this article didn't age well considering the new video with 40 minutes of gameplay. The game looks impressively fine. Not touching it cuz GKC, but it still isn't anything as reported.
Can't believe it's happening, but I think we're actually entering the dark ages of Nintendo. What the hell is going on with them, can't believe they've dropped the ball this hard on Switch 2.
Love how people base their argument on absolutely no data, regarding the loss of sale.
If Nintendo and other companies want to combat piracy, then stop taking advantage of your consumers and screwing them over every chance you get, and stop with the cynical attempts at getting adults and kids addicted to monetization schemes. These companies aren't defenseless or barely surviving the market. They're fine, and most are thriving despite of piracy. Piracy has just been an excuse for the big companies to implement non-consumer friendly systems that empowers them and screws over the consumer.
Please don't be a game-key-card, we really don't need that. Elden Ring is such a great game to have a physical of, and they really don't need the extra savings. It'll even boost their sales as there are several people, inc. myself, who boycotts these.

Re: "We Have Begun R&D" - Crimson Desert Dev Shows Interest In A Switch 2 Port
I was so hyped for this until I learned about the prevalent use of AI for developing the game. So staying far away from this.

It's not "physical" if it's a GKC.
Re: Switch 2 Has The Largest Third-Party Software Lineup Ever For New Nintendo Hardware

Game Key Card? No thanks.
Re: Video: SEGA Shares "First Look" At Yakuza Kiwami 3's Combat Gameplay

Couldn't care less, never going to be anywhere as good as Reggie.
She also just seem exactly what corporate would want and not gamers/consumers.

"Significant and irreparable harm" Hahaha! Next thing they will say is that that they barely made success with the Switch because of piracy.

Their loss. And this is Ubisoft so I take anything they say with a grain of salt.

Looks very impressive, but being a game key card, this is a hard pass.

How can Nintendo do this legally?
This is such a bad look for them, granted it will have no impact on their business. A whole new low for them.
