Would rather just have RTS games be developed in a manner that would work well with a controller. The shape of a joy-con just doesn't really work that well unless there is an attachment that makes it more comfortable and practical as a mouse, but I strongly doubt it. Sounds to me like one of those old Nintendo gimmicks that just doesn't really work.
I guess most "gamers" don't want to actually own their product. Just wait until they actually realize this and the major uproar that will happen because some company decided to remove their Single Player game permanently.
On one hand, this is the internet and how it's always been and to expect anything different is just dumb. Nintendo should've predicted the leaks since they waited so long.
On the other hand, he's completely right, we have no right to leaks or to even know anything about the product before its announcement. And all it does is just take away their chance to actually showcase their creation, which understandably sucks for them and also is a really important moment for marketing and communication of the product.
@EarthboundBenjy Playing through Pixel Remaster now for the first time and completed all of them except FF5 (at world 2), and I absolutely love them, and I would absolutely love this. However, this never tend to be the evolution of games, or any other media/product. FF17 will just be more bombastic and "high fidelity" in terms of graphics and action. Going back to pixels would be deemed as a downgrade unfortunately. :/
I played FF16, and I couldn't dislike it more, even if I tried.
No thanks. Geoff definitely have the enthusiasm, but the show is just so bad, really childish and cringe entertainment, one politically charged ad after the other, speeches that sound like pure PR vomit. No thanks. Will wait the day after for the trailers.
Wow. That reasoning is even worse than I thought it would be.
Great example of devs not seeing these things from the perspective of the gamer.
They should've focused on user friendliness, and just have other justifications for the gamer to experiment with the different echoes. But, that's not how most gamers will approach it. If you find one solution that works on several problems, you're just gonna stick to it.
With a mechanic like 'Echoes', it seems to me that they really want to make a sandbox game, but yet true to the typical aspects of a 2D Zelda game. Just pick one and stick to it, or at least adapt it better to the rest of the game. The game is really great in some ways, but get so boring after a while because it lean so heavily on 'Echoes'. Even reducing to 40-50 Echoes in the game would've made it a lot more interesting, and just focus more time on the rest of the gameplay experience.
Lol. Was already ready to say that they can't sue someone for streaming a game they received early. But holy *****, this guy really wanted to test Nintendo's limits. This is just downright stupid.
Circular menu would help, but just adding a Favorites/Customization function would be enough to fix a lot of the clutter. The biggest issue I have with the game so far is the terrible use of UI for Echoes. Can't believe they thought a straight line for the Echoes UI was a god idea when they implement approx. 100+ Echoes in the game.
So they changed sexes for diabetes types, that's funny.
That being said, it's trivial but I do think the creators should be free to do as they please, which they kind of are, they're censoring themselves to reach what they "think" is the masses.
Though we all know that if they kept it the way it should be, it wouldn't really hurt their sales as these types of people are in the minority, and creators should stop acting as if they're the majority and just do what they want to do, and stop enabling this senseless debate that hasn't gone anywhere for the last few years, but only empower really questionable people with no genuine intention.
Already made my mind that if it doesn't support BC then I just simply won't buy the console until at the end of its lifecycle when the prices are reduced or I can buy a cheap used one.
@Pillowpants AI will definitely play a huge role, maybe even a critical one considering everyone has access to it. Even terrorist cells / groups have access to it. EVERYONE has access to it, so it definitely be a critical part of every war going forward. Not even sure if "better AI" will matter the same way as "better technology" which makes it even scarier. Also, imagine how AI can be used in countries like North Korea to survey the people, locate "escape routes" and such. It's terrible and everyone using AI is complicit in it.
Don't care much about the specs. For me it all comes down to backwards compatibility, does it have it or not, if it does, then it's an instant purchase for me.
Saw Skies of Arcadia and got excited, now I am disappointed. Hard pass, I don't really care for something being inspired by something else when none of it really looks original or even innovative. Feels more like they are just 'inspired' to use it for marketing.
Just more proof that AI is absolute dogs*** and need to be avoided at all cost. Hopefully Nintendo just do what Nintendo does, sue them and win, which I would enjoy very much considering people working on / creating AI have no moral compass whatsoever and are just driven by profit regardless of the cost on society. Good riddance.
Uff, the whole "sandbox" approach to game design really doesn't work with the Zelda Aesthetic, I hope they can let this go soon and go back to a more traditional design.
Couldn't really care less, for a consumer this is pretty much a non-issue. Sure, leaks ruin surprises, if you happen to see and read them, but if journalists stopped writing about them, so that you would have to seek them out in various forums, then you'd easily avoid them anyway. Again, it's pretty trivial. However, I totally understand Nintendo wanting to prevent them.
This was without a doubt the biggest disappointment. A Zelda game without Link as the protagonist? Copy abilities instead of actual combat, no thank you. Would rather have a proper remaster than this.
So surprised everyone says Metroid Dread was so difficult. I've never been a Metroidvania-player but I found Dread to be super easy up until the last boss (so difficult I haven't finished it yet). One of my favorite games of all time, even tried to understand "sequence breaking" which was a completely new concept to me.
Trying to finish Persona 5 Royal (114 hours in). Oh my god! This game's story is so boring and long winded compared to Persona 4 Golden.
The first half is great (absolutely love it), but then somewhere during the summer months and leading up to most of october-half of november, is just so boring, it almost makes me resent the game. November 18 now - right before going up against a boss, and based on the story development - I think it's gonna pick up again (I hope so!).
Hopefully either Wind Waker & Twilight Princess Remaster/Remakes or Switch 2 announcement, or else I don't think I personally will care as much - as I doubt they will announce any proper new games for Switch 1.
It was pretty meh, but I don't expect much from indie developers, in every 100 indie game there might be like 3-6 of them that are actually good or excellent. The market is just way too saturated now with indie games.
No thanks. Just let them focus on creating the characters they want without this ridiculous pressure that they HAVE TO check boxes with the 'knife' of cancellation held against their throat if they don't.
Also, from my understanding of the Japanese text, "Vivian" is just a cross-dresser. Either way, it's kind of sad that the gender-discussion about a purple shadow seem to Trump the discourse about how great the game is, but I guess that's just gaming culture nowadays.
It's never gonna happen. Nintendo doesn't need it nor Game Awards. For ***** sake, Nintendo is the one that started the whole Direct standard, if they didn't need E3 what on earth would make Geoff think they need Summer Game Fest. Lol.
@Jiggies Yeah, almost like the dev created a whole narrative to gain publicity without any ground or evidence. Not often we see that nowadays ... oh wait.
@KorenLesthe That's fine if you believe that. But several don't seem to share that sentiment, and couple that along with the extremely low player count on Steam, it's pretty obvious what's going on here. Instead of just admitting that the game didn't sell well, it's easier to create this whole narrative on the side to protect one's ego and hopefully getting publicity at the same time.

Re: Switch 2's Magnetic Joy-Con Connection Was Originally An Idea For Switch
Still a silly gimmick. There is no practical use for the magnet, you can achieve locking the joy cons just as easily and better without it. Lol.
Re: Random: Donkey Kong Country's Artist Reacts To Nintendo's Redesign
New design looks really bad. However, don't really care unless they use it in a new 3D DK game.
Re: Analyst States That Switch 2's Price Won't "Really Matter" For Early Adopters
If the rumors are true about the power of the machine, I won't care about the price. Most important thing for me was backwards compatibility.
Re: Talking Point: Did All The Switch 2 Leaks 'Damage' Nintendo Or The Console's Reveal?
Don't exactly lose excitement over it, but it definitely tempers it. Presentation and first impression is really important for marketing a product.
Re: Random: Switch 2 Leakers Called Out By Industry Veteran Hideki Kamiya
I have two different opinions on this.
On one hand, this is the internet and how it's always been and to expect anything different is just dumb. Nintendo should've predicted the leaks since they waited so long.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Latest Financials Make One Thing Abundantly Clear
Don't care. They clearly are taking their time and it won't be announced this year. Moving along
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Switch
Damn. This pretty much confirms we're not getting a direct any time soon. At this point we most likely won't hear anything until next year.
Re: Random: Nintendo's Museum Might Be Emulating SNES Games On Windows PC
Haha, the irony! Guess emulation on PC isn't so awful after all, Nintendo.
Re: Review: Sky Oceans: Wings For Hire (Switch) - A Pale Imitation Of The JRPG Classics That Inspired It
Lol! Told ya! So glad I didn't fall for the whole "Skies of Arcadia" potential hype that everyone seemed to be gushing over.
Got to admit, didn't expect a 3 star though, ouch!

Re: Bayonetta Star Jennifer Hale On The SAG-AFTRA Strikes: "AI Is Coming For Us All"
There is a special hell for people who work and enable the use of AI.
It need to be stopped and so does the people behind it, either through regulation or by force from the people.
AI already was used to find recipes for biochemical weapons where the result was 40000+ recipes. Wake the fu** up people.

If true, this is just even more disappointing. Would love a Link To The Past remake with this engine. Can't believe this is the new Zelda content.
