Re: Meow Motors Is A New Switch Racer Just Like Mario Kart, But With Lots More Cats

@Yorumi No arguments? I handed you several great arguments for why you're wrong, for why bringing up definitions are moot. So don't give me that scorn attitude about how insulted you are for me suggesting this is all about your lack of skills and your inability to accept that. If someone is being a child or an idiot, I will call them out for it. Can't handle it? Then stay out of discussions with people that you can't deal with proving you wrong.

Not only this but then instead of actually counter arguing you start getting all about semantics thinking you will have a point when I clearly show you that your argument is moot because even the definition tells you that something perfect can't be flawless but only flawless in terms of what is possible for it to be. Therefor you can pretty much sum it up to having a subjective interpretation of what perfect means. Not only that! But none of this is new, people's definition of "the perfect game" in the games industry have been a topic for years now with the discussions of reviews and giving games 10. Your inability to accept this is giving me a headache. I will leave you with all my arguments that I gave you which you mostly just ignored and went into semantics. As a goodbye because you clearly don't have the intention of having an interesting discussion on this but just wanted to shut me down because you are so offended.

"Second of all, your complaints are things I've never ever experienced or had an issue with playing MK8 on Switch so I have no relation to that and based on my performance and other peoples performances online. I have to say that the experience disagrees with you and proves otherwise."

"I have seen so many people including myself have perfect runs after each races several times with no problem so even if it's luck based it is heavily focused on skills and knowing the map."

"Your theory might be right but it sure as hell doesn't show when playing the game."

"it says no flaw but yet say as possible as something can be therefore of course something can be perfect and yet have flaws."

@Yorumi You just purposefully ignored everything I said, I told you the dictionary contradicts itself regarding what perfect means, it says no flaw but yet say as possible as something can be therefore of course something can be perfect and yet have flaws. I think you need to calm yourself down. It's like you take this as a personal attack or something. Not my fault if your bad at MK and therefore it doesn't work a certain way or it must be the game's fault. Grow up. Like I told you, there are several examples that contradicts what you are saying, maybe it's because of updates or maybe because this have nothing to do with the game's mechanics but you just being bitter about losing constantly.

@Realness How do you know this though, I feel we need to bring up some sales stats to really know if this is true. They might never sell as well as MK does but a lot of companies don't need to, to be able to fund their next projects. Sonic Team Racing is really great though and I am really excited to have it on Switch so I can play it with my wife.

Will admit that I am a bit biased since kart racers except for Rayman are the only games I can get my wife to play with me. So I do want a lot more kart racers.

@Yorumi First of all, definition of perfection when it comes to games is very subjective, so you have to kind of ask to let me explain to you what I mean by that. Second of all I was talking about the general opinions about the game. Most people would tell you that MK8 and the MK series is the perfect example of the perfect game for that genre. Whether you agree or disagree doesn't matter.

Second of all, your complaints are things I've never ever experienced or had an issue with playing MK8 on Switch so I have no relation to that and based on my performance and other peoples performances online. I have to say that the experience disagrees with you and proves otherwise. I have seen so many people including myself have perfect runs after each races several times with no problem so even if it's luck based it is heavily focused on skills and knowing the map. Sorry but I have to say based on what I see, you are wrong about this. Your theory might be right but it sure as hell doesn't show when playing the game.

Also per definition, perfect only means as good as it possibly can be. Which is a contradiction to the "no flaw" part of the definition, so you can pretty much have a subjective opinion and defining it in a subjective way what a perfect game is.

Just wanted it out there before you decide to have a huge argument about definitions.

@Realness "Don't bother" To have this type of attitude is just unnecessary, I could say what you said about thousands of other games. Just because you have the definitive kart racing game doesn't mean you can't enjoy others or find entertainment in others. It is such an elitist and arrogant attitude to have.

Also, Team Sonic Racing was pretty damn good, maybe not to rival Mario Kart but still a solid game, and definitely good enough that the developers shouldn't have had the mentality of "don't bother". Rather have a few duds here and there and then a few good ones then none at all just because there is this perfect game they have to compete with.

You can also look at the recent Days Gone, which is judged to be an average game and by your standards isn't something they should have bothered with yet the consumers out there love it.

Just because you have one perfect example of a genre, doesn't mean that games coming after that doesn't have the same amount of quality can't be enjoyed and loved by consumers in the market.

Re: Get A Better Look At The Labo VR Update Coming To Super Mario Odyssey

@Heavyarms55 Well, in a fast search I did come across this "Nintendo sold 1.39 million kits of its cardboard meets video game creation system, Labo, since its April launch, the company announced Tuesday as part of its earnings report. ... Nintendo doesn't break down the sales of the Nintendo Labo by kit, so it's not possible to tell which of the two sold best" It was posted on 31. July 2018. Don't know about the entire year but I don't think it hit 2 million. Still pretty damn good compared to the product and scepticism. It wouldn't surprise me if VR sells well too maybe even better. But for god sake, they need to give us some strap for it.

Re: Get A Better Look At The Labo VR Update Coming To Super Mario Odyssey

TAndvig

@Heavyarms55 Do we know or have they reported how many units of Labo sold? Many were sceptical of that but it seems like it's been doing okay. The price for this vr experience is what I think will sell most people on it. It is super cheap compared to its competitors. Never tried vr and will never be interested in it. But! If it somehow works with Zelda and we can get a goddamn strap for the unit, I might consider it.

Re: Random: Prince Harry Thinks Fortnite Should Be Banned

TAndvig

Banning seems super excessive but I agree that people are becoming insanely addicted to games like Fortnite, but this addiction isn't something new. It's the same as the ones we dealt with in the Everquest and Wow era.

Parents do need to take some responsibility on this, no doubt that a lot of parents tend to throw electronics at their kids just to shut them up and now it have backfired but that doesn't mean the state or rules can't be set to assist them. I understand people whom are more against big governments hate that idea. But I am not one of those and therefore I am perfectly find with the government stepping in in a reasonable way to figure out a solution to help parents.

@Heavyarms55 Oh really now? Thanks to christianity and the christian churches in Scandinavia burning and destroying artifacts from the viking age we know next to nothing about those periods. So you can go F yourself with your "I am so offended over nothing" lkjhgfghjk.Religion should never be protected from being made fun of.
