Looks cool, imagine if Nintendo made a game like this

This game was kind of a mixed bag for me. For every fun chapter there was one that was super tedious and dragged on, with very little story development. With that said, I loved the characters, combat, story and music, so overall I’d consider it a pretty decent game.

@AllBLK there’s a difference in not caring about hardware, and acknowledging that visuals/performance are important but still enjoying the game regardless

@Alcea it’s not ‘fine’, but as I said earlier, it’s still better than the alternative of codes in boxes and eshop only releases, since they can easily be resold. I do think making sure more cartridge options are available should be a major priority for Nintendo, considering how this is impacting nearly every third party release

@Shepdawg1 agreed. If this is the only way these games are going to get on switch, I’d rather this than a code in a box/digital only release

DK Bananza is one of my favourite games from the past few years, but there’s no way I’m buying this (unless it ever gets heavily discounted)

@Haruki_NLI don’t forget Elden Ring (yes I know the games are developed by Fromsoft but it’s still a poor look for them)

@LazyDaisy I think I heard somewhere that there are two sub teams working on fire emblem, with team 1 working on three houses and fortunes weave, and team 2 working on engage. Might explain why the two former games don’t look as great but engage looks pretty good

@EvenStephen7 at least Fire Emblem looked great (even if the environments were a bit rough… ok I see what you’re saying about the monkey’s paw lol)

Hopefully this means the story won’t be as generic this time. And hopefully Jack Black will sing again!

A simultaneous launch on all consoles including switch 2 is a nice surprise

@Suketoudara if true that’s pretty understandable, although I would argue if you’re charging for an upgrade it isn’t out of the realm of possibility to modify assets to ensure switch 1 parity and higher resolutions

By trying to act like they support fan games and preservation, they inadvertently outed themselves as not giving a hoot about their old games

@Suketoudara that idea is weird to me, considering that Splatoon 3 has higher resolutions on switch 2 but still has full parity with switch 1

I never played forgotten land and don’t plan to anytime soon. 3D platformers that aren’t open collectathons aren’t my personal cup of tea… but I can’t deny this is an immensely high quality product with lots of love behind it

I never played Forgotten Land but the game seemed liked a great time. Glad to see that this switch 2 edition delivers (unlike Mario Party)…

I feel like SRPG fans who don’t care about metroidvanias will be perfectly fine with this…
