Re: Nintendo "Establishing Ways To Respond" To U.S. Tariffs, Says Furukawa

SoIDecidedTo

I agree with others, video games are a luxury. No one NEEDS to have the Switch 2. I'm a huge fan of living in the USA. I spend most of my year between there and China (which I'm currently in). I love living in China as well. The thing I can say about the USA is even our poorest people are rich compared to a lot of the world. I'm not saying our poorest have BMWs but even a lot of our poorest people still have food (maybe not the best), shelter, indoor plumbing, a wireless smart phone, a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, and a lot even have a car. Our poor live pretty well compared to a lot of other countries and we shouldn't take that for granted.

Is the US Perfect? No. But, I'm very happy living here and I think all citizens should take the time to appreciate all we have.

I hope to have a switch 2 as soon as the Splatoon 4 edition comes out. No matter what the costs, I'll buy it Day 1. Why? Because I have budgeted money to buy this for the last few years. I knew there would eventually be a Super Switch or Switch 2 so I put money aside. Even $10 a week for 2 years is over $1,000. So when it comes out, the only game I'll probably want is Splatoon 4 and a Mario Game. I have enough backlog of other games to play.

Re: Funko Fusion Is Deemed A "Complete Commercial And Critical Failure"

SoIDecidedTo

If they had gone the route of Lego Dimensions, this game could have been a hit (been reading about it since my first discovery of this game a few hours ago). What made Dimensions great for me, wasn't so much the toys to life aspect, but it was how well it played. And it had so many different series I could play. I mean I could team of Dr. Who with Marty McFly and Superman. Who doesn't want to see that?

This game lacking couch co-op was probably the biggest bummer. And you should be able to have multiple characters to switch through at any time (like with Dimensions). Me and my ex used to play on Wii U all of the time. I would use the pad and she would use the TV. Dimensions is literally the ONLY game she ever played other than Splatoon and Mario Kart. If I look at her play time, it was probably 10 hour Mario Kart, 5 hours Splatoon, and 100 hours Lego Dimensions. We really loved exploring that one and finding every last thing in it.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Star Fox 64

SoIDecidedTo

When I saw it was Starfox 64, I had never seen the Japanese box before. I thought, "no way anything beat's this iconic box" and then saw the Japanese one. It's AMAZING! I think what seals the deal for me is the "Space Outlaw" Around the badge. Even though I never thought of them as Outlaws.

Re: No Wins For Nintendo At DICE Awards, But Balatro Bags A Three Of A Kind

SoIDecidedTo

@dmcc0 I got it on Mobile instead of my Switch for just this reason. I can say I TRULY enjoy Balatro. So my rule for myself is that I can't play it at home, but anytime I'm out, (like have a break at work or flying) I can play it. I'm now allowed to drive in China so I'm usually in a Didi (their version of Uber) so that game is the perfect game to play in short 15 minute spurts.

Re: Nintendo Is Developing New Mobile Game Apps, Unsurprisingly

SoIDecidedTo

@Member_the_game Oh you don't know???? They arrive at your door and give you a free kitten.

I don't ever stress first. I am usually in the US so on this site I'm very rarely first. But now I'm in China which means my time zones are 13 hours different so I've had the opportunity.

The only real benefit to being first is that everyone sees your comment. So if it is good, there is a lot more interaction. When some of these articles have over 100, they start getting skipped over. But trust me, I've never lost sleep over not being first. It was more of a surprise that I was almost first. haha

Re: Nintendo Taking "All Possible Measures" To Combat Switch 2 Scalpers

SoIDecidedTo

@Whirlwound If you've never been on a plane, here are some starter tips:
Push the steward(ess) button every 5 minutes or so. They like to feel needed.
You should IMMEDIATELY take your shoes and socks off on the plane and try to put your feet between the armrest to the seat in front of you.
The people around you on a flight LOVE random "yelps!" or "We're all going to die!"
First person to get sick in an air sickness bag, hold it over someone's head and then Squish it as hard as possible so that it explodes wins $1,000. Good luck!

(Also, please do not do any of this.) Good luck on your first flight. I still remember my first. I wore a dress shirt with a necktie and blazer because to me it was important to look nice. I still dress rather nice for flights because I feel like I should respect the trip and the fact that we have come so far in humanity that I can visit anyone in the world.

Re: PlatinumGames Wipes Several Games From Its Website's Portfolio

SoIDecidedTo

Mad World was one of my favorite Wii games. I think it would easily do much better on the Switch. I feel like Sega missed the ball by not updating that and "House of the Dead:Overkill" for the Switch. There isn't anything really like Mad World on the Switch. Maybe make it even more over the top and even add cartoon boobies to it to make it it's own thing. I mean HotD:Overkill had grandma boobs haha

I'd also like a re-do of Eternal Darkness and Conduit.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss On Switch 2's Name: Nintendo Created So Much "Brand Value"

SoIDecidedTo

@BigE I was for calling it the SUPER Nintendo Switch. But I'm of the generation that went from the NES to the SNES so for me, knowing the Super Nintendo was coming out (we didn't have the internet, so I got my info from Nintendo Power, GamePro, EGM, etc.) and I instantly knew that it was going to be a huge upgrade from the NES. I could see that the graphics were going to be even better than the Genesis and TG-16; so I was HYPED!

I realize that may be lost on the younger generation, because the the internet we can pour over every detail before launch, but back then it was all curated by Nintendo unless "Quarterman" had an "inside source" giving us some gossip.

Re: Digital Foundry Digs Into Switch 2's 4K Upscaling Potential As Patents Inspire More Speculation

SoIDecidedTo

I loved my Wii, and I love motion controls, so an updated sensor would be great. As someone else said, I'm sure the tech has gotten way better since in almost 20 years.

As far as upscaling, wasn't that the rumor for the Switch PRO, that it would have a base that could upscale. Now the difference is AI instead of another chip in the base. I would LOVE to be able to buy a "Pro" base with an added processor that I could plug the switch into, and see an immediate power boost. Instead of replacing consoles, we could replace bases. (I know that doesn't help the portability, but I don't need the BEST graphics on a small handheld, but nicer on my TV would be great. (80% of my playing is handheld anyway)

Re: Opinion: My Daughter Made Me Realise That Mario Wonder's Difficulty Options Need Work

SoIDecidedTo

I remember playing the original SMB when I was like 5 or something (at 3 it was the Atari 2600 and Combat or Pac-Man), and it forced me to get good. I remember my cousin was older and could beat SMB and I thought he was AMAZING at it. I practiced and got better and eventually beat it too (using warp pipes). For me, the challenge of getting better was rewarding. I would have enjoyed just being invincible or whatever, but then it is an empty Win. I think that's why I work so hard now, because I had to work to get better. If I could just toggle a switch as a child and everything is done for me, how would I deal with difficult situations now? Kids need to fail to learn from their failures.

Re: EA Sports FC 25 Partially Blamed For EA's Lowered Financial Forecast

SoIDecidedTo

I THINK the last EA game I bought was Madden on the Wii. I actually really enjoyed it even though the graphics weren't as good as the PS____ (insert whatever number it was competing with, 3 I think). I liked drawing my own plays with the wii-mote and also flicking to pass. I also liked their golf game that used the wii-mote gyro accessory. Since then, they don't release sports game on the switch worth buying, so why buy? ACTUALLY, just remembered I bought one of the Fifas on Switch for $5 when they did eshop sale, but never played it.

I was still playing International Superstar Soccer on the 3DS instead.

Re: Analyst States That Switch 2's Price Won't "Really Matter" For Early Adopters

SoIDecidedTo

I pay $1300 to $2300 for a cell phone, so no matter what the price of the console is, I'm going to buy it as soon as they announce a Splatoon 4 bundle. I understand people have budgets, but If we will pay $1000 for an iPhone, why is it so terrible to pay $500 for a console that we will most likely use longer than the phone?

I hope it is $399, but in the grand scheme of things, I'm buying it no matter the price. I just wish it would have MORE POWER (arr arr arrr) so that it can last another 8 years.

Re: Nintendo's Share Price Dips Following Its Big Switch 2 Reveal

SoIDecidedTo

Impressed it took 74 Comments before someone said NINTENDOOMED! @MontyCircus, you beat me to it. Good job.

Nintendo has been printing money for years, once the system comes out and sells through opening allotment, and we see they have like 5 games sell over a million copies in the first two months, everyone will be back on board.

Who knows, we might even get a new Madden finally. And if not, the NFL should make a deal with Nintendo to publish a game. I remember when Nintendo made sports game and they were always fun! From NES Play Action Football, to Ken Griffey Baseball, to Kobe Bryant Basketball; I always enjoyed Nintendo Sports.

Re: Random: Switch 2 Leakers Called Out By Industry Veteran Hideki Kamiya

SoIDecidedTo

@Don I think if every post had a "SPOILER ALERT" heading and none of the article showed, that is ok, but like in my Google News feed, it shows the headline and then a few lines of what the article is. So it's hard to not have some things slip through.

As for me, I know I'm buying a Switch 2, so the spoilers don't bother me now, but historically, they do bother me because I do not want to have surprises ruined.

Re: Is This Our Best Look Yet At 'Switch 2'?

SoIDecidedTo

I don't think Nintendo cares to be honest. The system itself looks very similar, but I feel like there must be some functionality that has not been spoken of yet. Nintendo is sticking to their playbook and all the "leaks" are actually bringing hype to the actual announcement so I think they'll do a direct within the next week and officially announce it, then it will be out before June. March to May is my guess. Let's see. Pack-in game will be Mario Art since you can use the joycon like a mouse now. haha
