Re: Splatoon 3 To Get Free Switch 2 Update Later This Week

SoIDecidedTo

Urchin Underpass is cool, but I was REALLY hoping they would bring back Arowana Mall, Port Mackerel, or Walleye Warehouse. The third game is severely lacking in narrow stages which I always enjoyed. I would also choose Camp Triggerfish over this one. It's always nice for a new stage though, but just a little disappointed. But the update definitely makes me say I'll get a Switch 2 now.

Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Sublime Sequel, Now Sublimer

SoIDecidedTo

I bought this game in Bali when it first came out. Three sons: A) to have something to play on the LONG flight back to the US. B) the price is cheaper in Bali than in the US and C) to have a memento from my trip. Never even opened it (Played Splatoon 3 single player on the flight back). Now I'm excited to play it as my first game on Switch 2 when I get one (unless Splatoon 4 comes out first haha)

Re: Classic Atari 2600 Title 'Adventure' Is Being Revived As A Metroidvania

SoIDecidedTo

I'm with those that went from super excited, to super not interested at all. Looks lame. I feel the cheap pixel art is lazy. I love pixel art, but to me, this is just a lazy cash grab. Doing a pixelart remake of the original would have been amazing. That was one of my favorite games as a kid, and I was so young that the dragons actually scared me when they opened their mouths haha.

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 Might Pull A 'Witcher 3' On Switch 2

SoIDecidedTo

@rjejr Haha good thing you can turn it off quickly. Thanks for the reply. I really don't notice the difference (just like on my phone it's hard to tell the difference between 90 and 120 refresh. I don't "Think" i notice a difference, but then when I'm playing something on the 120 tv vs a 60, it "Feels" different. But what do I know? haha

Have a great day !

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

SoIDecidedTo

Before I found out the crap quality of the Piranha Plant cam, I was thinking of getting it because I have a Piranha Plant from Universal Nintendo Japan and I have the Lego Piranha Plant, so it would be a cool set.

However, I may buy it anyway because I have 0 interest in chatting with anyone while I play. I'm probably not their target demographic. I just hope that when Splatoon 4 comes out, they have separate groupings and rankings for those playing with friends/chatting, and those playing multiplayer solo. I love Rainmaker, but I don't want to have to talk with people to strategize. That's one of the joys for me, seeing how my teammates play and then complimenting their style.

Re: Video: 10 GameCube Games We Want On Switch 2's Online Expansion Pack

SoIDecidedTo

The fact that Eternal Darkness isn't on the top 10 is a glaring oversight. That was easily one of the best games on the system. I owned all of the other games (other than Doshan the Giant and Sonic) and would pick ED over any of them.

I would be keen to play Doshan though, since I saw a youtube video on it and it seemed interesting.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Mario Party 3

SoIDecidedTo

Usually I can understand why anyone likes any box even if I don't agree, but Europe getting 3% surprises me. It's the North American box, but worse. NOT making fun, but anyone that picked Europe, can you give me some feedback on what it is that you liked?

Re: Nintendo Is Reportedly Not Releasing The Switch 2 In China Just Yet

SoIDecidedTo

It's interesting, each year in China I see more and more stores that are Nintendo themed, or have Switch (don't really see Playstation or Xbox). The stores all seem non-uniform, but have plenty of Nintendo IP. It's not hard to find Splatoon, Mario Kart, Mario Party, and most first party titles in the stores. I've actually never bought a game there to see if any censorship. Maybe I should on my next trip. A LOT of people like watching others play games and I'm not sure if they're paid to be in the audience or just there, but e-sports seems wild. The funny things is instead of on consoles, the players are playing on their phones.

My friends from Guangdong province just went to Japan, and the Nintendo store is one of the places they wanted to go. So maybe it is starting to catch on.

Re: Hands On: 'Drag x Drive' Is Fantastic, But Is It Destined To Be Switch 2's ARMS?

SoIDecidedTo

@BaldB3lper78 Good to know. It would be interesting if they decide to do another global testfire of some "classics" from the Switch to see if they can get more people to buy the old games.

It would actually be smart business wise. They've already paid to make the games. Yes it would cut into first party sales now, but why not wait to release some first party games in order to re-release or promote some older games with improved visuals.

Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'

SoIDecidedTo

@sanderev No, I just want Nintendo to realize that failure is always an option and they shouldn't take us for granted. I plan on buying a Switch 2 as soon as they release a Splatoon 4 edition. But this time around, I'll mostly be playing the Switch games I never started. I think it would be wise to make a tech demo free instead of charge for it.

Re: Nintendo Comments On Mario Kart World's Controversial Price

SoIDecidedTo

@Rusty_Ruby I agree. Like I play Splatoon 3 more than any other game. If it is going to be $100 for Splatoon 4, I'll pay it. It's worth that to me to not have micro-transactions.

With that said, I bought Rocket League when you had to pay to buy it. But I would still spend money on loot boxes from time to time because I wanted to give the developer money. I played that game Over 700 hours so I wanted to show appreciation.

Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'

SoIDecidedTo

There is no way I'd buy this. It's more the principle of the thing now. It looks like a tech demo more than a game, and this would have been a really nice pack-in. It seems Nintendo got so overly confident from Switch, that they have forgotten that they can easily fall from Grace (cough cough, Wii U cough cough). Do I think the switch 2 will sell a ton? YES! But they really don't need the $9.99 from this "game". Make it a pack-in for early adopters.

Re: Upgrade Pack Price For Zelda: BOTW And TOTK Has Been Confirmed

SoIDecidedTo

I'm not mad at $10 for the upgrade. I bought TotK while in Bali to play on the flight back to the US. I never opened it because I got caught up with Horace (which is one of the most charming games I've played in a long long time) so didn't open it. Now I can break it in on my switch 2 since no Splatoon at Launch.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Nintendo Switch 2 Special

SoIDecidedTo

I went Donkey Kong. It's pretty much perfect for what it is. Mario Kart is also amazing so I see why they are top 2. If Metroid didn't have all the writing at the bottom, it would be my number one. But the switch art for that one is better, so how can it be my favorite here.

Re: Hands On: 'Drag x Drive' Is Fantastic, But Is It Destined To Be Switch 2's ARMS?

SoIDecidedTo

@BaldB3lper78 Since you love arms, I would like to ask your opinion. For me, the thing that was a deterrent were two things: I thought each character should have arms that only they could use, but it seems like almost any character can use any arm. Then why have different characters? (Maybe I'm misremembering) but the main thing I remember from the global test fire was match making. I played like 10 times and got slaughtered all 10 matches. It's like I was a 7 year old fighting Mike Tyson. So did matchmaking get better based on skills?

Re: Hands-On: Finally, Super Mario Party Jamboree Let's Me Scream At Bowser

SoIDecidedTo

The Camera and chat function means absolutely nothing to me. I have no urge for people to watch me game. Maybe great for streamers and content creators, but I just don't want to talk to my friends while gaming. I'm worried it will ruin Splatoon 4. I hope they have lobbies for those that chat and those that don't, because obviously those that chat will have an advantage.

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 Might Pull A 'Witcher 3' On Switch 2

SoIDecidedTo

@rjejr I have a LG TV from 2009 that has 120hz. As I mentioned on another article, you have to really research TVs now because manufacturers lie (cough) I mean, "Market the facts in a less than idea way" (cough) by saying 60hz are "Magic Motion 120hz" or some other bs. I recommend anyone that is buying a TV, look for the 120hz. I bought it because I am huge into film, and 24fps divides evenly into 120, whereas it won't 60. So to me, 40fps is fine.

Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is... Corrupted

SoIDecidedTo

@IronMan30 This is a good point. And when people are buying TVs, they should look for TRUE 120hz if that's what they're going for. I have two LG tvs and both are 120hz. I actually notice a difference. The thing people have to watch out for, is that a lot of manufacturers will make "120hz" claims, but they're only 60hz with software to make them double to 120hz. Unfortunately boxes are misleading so you have to research online to find out what is really 120hz.

And this box with the big red band is ugly. I can't believe Nintendo couldn't come up with anything better. Maybe go back to the Wii style and have a band on the top that gets bigger on the right side and just put Switch 2.

Re: Mega Man 2 Director Explains Why The Game Was Developed So Quickly

SoIDecidedTo

I remember playing Mega Man 2 for the first time with my friend Chad. He had already beaten it. I was spending the night at his house and we started to play. Much Pizza Hut and Mountain Dew later, I had also beaten it. I remember liking 3 as well (didn't that add "Rush the dog"?) but 2 is the one that speaks to my heart. Hard to believe that was made in 3 months. kudos.

Re: The Reason For Balatro Dev's Anonymity Is Pretty Straightforward, Actually

SoIDecidedTo

@Waa-Laa I'm usually not into this kind of game, but I got addicted for a few weeks there. How long did you play before you decided it wasn't for you. I read on the reddit people were doing well winning and thought it was easy. It was hard for me. I didn't win until probably 40 or 50 games in. The more I unlocked, the more fun it became. If you have no interest in poker, this may stay boring. I haven't really been into poker, but understood the rules. It's 100% cool if you don't like the game, but I know for me it took time to actually enjoy it, and I'm glad I did.
