Re: Former Metroid Prime Engineer Admits He Was "Disappointed" With The Wii's Specs

SoIDecidedTo

I absolutely loved Super Mario Galaxy, Mad World, Mario Party 8, Mario Kart, Xenoblade Chornicals, and Murimasa the Demon Blade on my Wii. I'm sure there are a few other games I'm forgetting at the moment. I never had the urge for another system. I'm sure if I was younger I would have wanted to have them all, but I have limited playing time. And something about how FUN Nintendo games are, that I do not really care if the graphics aren't the best. It's all about having a good time in short 30 minute bursts. That's why now I only have the switch. Sure it would be nice to see the better graphics on my TV, but just like I think DVD quality is fine on my HDTV, and do not need Blu-Ray; I think Switch graphics are good enough and I do not need the best possible graphics to enjoy myself.

Now ask me the same question back in the Sega Dreamcast days and graphics were EVERYTHING. Also, speaking of Dreamcast, Capcom needs to re-release Canon Spike.

Re: New Windjammers 2 Trailer Showcases Two Characters And A Bunch Of Cool Moves

I REALLY enjoy the first one. It is a good game to play on flights because it is a quick game to play and enjoy and not think too much. This one was something I was REALLY excited for when announced, but now it just seems like more of the same but with more flashing lights... If they add a story mode, or make it have like 16 characters or something I might be enticed. But I still enjoy the first one enough that this doesn't look like an improvement to me. If you haven't played the first one, definitely worth the purchase.

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Switch Box Art For Kirby And The Forgotten Land

SoIDecidedTo

I have never bought a Kirby game but this one might loop me in. I like the thought of a playing around in a forgotten land. One of my favorite games on the switch is Lifeless Planet. I really got into the story and actually liked the walking simulator concept. I work all the time so it was nice to play something for 15 minutes at a pop and not worrying about dying.

This is hopefully something with a great story and way better control than lifeless planet.

Re: The Point & Click Sale Discounts 10 Games On Switch

SoIDecidedTo

@Gryffin I used to LOVE point and click games, but I no longer really enjoy them. Maniac Mansion was one of my five favorite NES games. I bought Thimbleweed Park with such high hopes of reliving that part of my life. However, I have yet to complete it. According to the strategy guide, I'm about 60% done, but I just lost interest in the puzzles. However the story is 10 out of 10.

Re: Gallery: Is The Panasonic Q The Most Goshdarn Beautiful Nintendo Console Of All Time?

SoIDecidedTo

I wanted one of these SO bad. I remember reading about it in some magazine and was saving up money for it. It never made it here, but I would have been one of the buyers. I kept holding out hope. I ended up buying the Metroid version of the Gamecube when it came out, because I finally realized I would never get this beauty. If they had one now and it played Region 1 dvd, I'd still buy it. haha

Re: Tag Heuer Reveals Limited-Edition $2,150 Super Mario Watch

SoIDecidedTo

I signed up for it. I'll let you all know if I get selected to buy. I see it as something that would be cool to wear when I want a conversation piece. And I could take care of it and in 20 years it may be a collectable.

I've ALWAYS thought watches were too expensive. I once bought an Omega for $8,000. It was a gift for a business partner. Most expensive thing (besides my house and car) that I've ever bought.

Re: Rocket League's Bringing Back Iconic Cars For Its Summer Road Trip Next Month

SoIDecidedTo

I love this game, play it more than anything else, 32 days worth of play as of this morning. However, I agree, once Epic bought it, the price of things went up so much. I like this better than loot boxes, but things that used to be $1.99 are now 2000 coins... wow. Just wow. I used to buy every car that released because I wanted to support the developer, but those days are gone. Although I did buy the Lambo and the NASCAR recently, but the NASCAR had a lot in the bundle. I think I'm done spending money on it unless something great comes out, Like the Mach 5 from SpeedRacer.

Re: Mini Review: Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 - 16-Bit Sports With Super Powers

SoIDecidedTo

I can't remember why now, but I do remember Baseball Simulator 1.000 being one of my five favorite NES games, and this was a day one buy for me on the SNES when it came out. I was SO disappointed. I cannot remember how it changed, but it completely lacked the charm of the NES game and I felt I wasted my money.

I still plan on trying it again on the switch, but I'm fully expecting to 30 years later (or ever how long) be disappointed again. And on the SNES, Ken Griffey Baseball was the best. I'm disappointed Nintendo quit making "real" sports game. Kobe Bryant Basketball was one of my favorite basketball games and it was published by Nintendo as well.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #85 - Dragon Quest

SoIDecidedTo

@sdelfin That's what I was THINKING it was, but as a kid back then, thought I might be remembering wrong. I just remember already having Nintendo Power, and loving it! And I remember thinking (because I used to collect comics and baseball cards) NEVER OPEN THIS, one day it will be worth $10,000 if unopened. Probably closer to $500 now, but still, not bad for a magazine subscription.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #85 - Dragon Quest

SoIDecidedTo

I'm usually in the majority on these. I LOVE the North American game. I beat it when I borrowed it from a friend. Then somehow got a brand new one when I won it from Nintendo Power (Or maybe it was a subscriber bonus). I kept it in the wrapper so never been opened. Wonder if there is a market for that now?

I thought this was one of the coolest covers I'd ever seen as a kid. Guess my nostalgia colors my vision.

Re: Sega Looking To Release Brand New "Super Game" In The Next Five Years

SoIDecidedTo

Seeing the main graphic for this made me a little sad. I LOVED Sega Heros on Mobile, and have yet to find another game to play instead of it. That was the only free to play game I ever spent money on, and spent WAY too much on it. So maybe it is a blessing they killed it. They day they killed that game, I swore off SEGA and have not bought a game of theirs since and probably never will.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The February 2021 Nintendo Direct, Then?

SoIDecidedTo

I had NO expectations going in. I love Spatoon and Splatoon 2, but the Splatoon 3 announcement didn't show me enough to get me excited. Of course it will be a day one purchase, but I wish it had given me something more.

With all of that said, I enjoyed the 50 minutes of games coming out and I am actually rather pumped to play quite a few.

Re: Mario, Link And Bowser Star In This '90s Nintendo Commercial, Complete With Disney-Standard Animation

SoIDecidedTo

@Desrever I loved Roses! There is a youtube channel called Company Man and I hope one day he does an episode on them. What I thought was so cool growing up was that the front doors were wooden with glass center, but the metal bars Had "ROSES" logo stamped into it. I liked that and Brendle's (another chain that is gone) way better than Walmart and Kmart and Target.
