I bought it at the announcement. I'm cool with this skinning and love the nostalgia, but I wish it had some functionality (like adding the old arcade games). I was going to buy it for the single player update later anyway, so this isn't a huge deal to me, just a small bonus. Now if the new campaign is trash, I'll think I overpaid, but I can't imagine it being that bad.
I voted for Splatoon 3 one, as that's the only one I've bought. I REALLY like the Animal Crossing one, and think it is BEAUTIFUL, but It didn't convince me to buy a new system. I already had the switch OLED and bought the Splatoon 3 one, so even though I thought I liked the AC one better, I didn't buy it so obviously I do not know myself well. haha
Yeah, The curling stone is like a nerfed seeker. I used it with my roller now just so I can have some kind of range with my roller. What I liked about the seeker special was that I think I could send out 7 or 8 seekers at once, so on a narrow stage like Camp Triggerfish or Walleye Warehouse I could unleash them all while my teammate tried to advance the rainmaker and it was just enough distraction to get us that extra push. I also liked the original Killer Wail (Sp?) for narrow stages or on Hammerhead Bridge. It would often get me a quad.
@MS7000 I literally preordered it announcement and have no clue what it is other than cosmetic change. Seems stupid to pay that much for that But I do love Splatoon so hopefully it is more than cosmetic.
Jet Force Gemini, and then Conker. JFG was a great game, but never completed because I HATED how if you left the area and came back, you had to save all the bears again. I feel like once an area is completed, you should be able to backtrack all you want without having to save every bear again.
@Bass_X0 Got it, thanks. I remember the kids in cages thing. I always thought it was weird that the "not sending their best" thing was taken out of context. He was talking about the coyotes that smuggle people in, but still, I see it's a bad look. And Biden is still working on the wall so I guess no matter who the president is, it's all the same. haha Thanks for explaining. I've never heard of the game so was just curious. Thanks for answering without being political.
@Bass_X0 Not to get political, but how were Mexicans treated during the presidency of Trump compared to how they are treated under Biden? Please pardon my ignorance, just do not understand what happened during Trump? FBI data shows that is has been similar under Biden and was similar pre-Trump. So was curious what the game inferred was happening. Not being political, just wanting some clarification. Thanks.
I somehow had NO idea this came out. This was a game I always wanted on my Wii U and didn't get. I just bought it on sale on the eshop. I feel like it's something I will enjoy a lot.
I've played a total of 4 tri-colors, always attacking. I have won 2 of the 4. The issues I have is when one of the other attacking teams kills me. I hope people understand that we should be working together to only splat the defenders, and not the other attacking team because as long as one of the attacking teams wins, it counts for both.
I like the old flounder heights better. And now I see my streams when I swim with ninja squid. Hope that's fixed. I love the other new stage. It's intense
I don't care about WWE or AEW. I was a WCW fan growing up and old school WWF through the attitude era. Don't care about the PG stuff. I can say all the games on N64 were stellar. I actually thought this game looked nice. I'm surprised everyone is saying it looks so bad. Of course my favorite wrestling game right now is Wrestling Empire which is not known for it's graphics, but that game is FUN. And I care more about Fun than graphics.
So I got the Splatoon/Smash Brothers Wii U as a gift. I wanted it for Smash Brothers, because I thought Splatoon looked stupid. I was incredibly, incredibly wrong. Splatoon was the most played game on my Wii U and I posted so much about it on the Splatoon Reddit they grew to want me to shut up. haha I imported the clothes from Japan when you couldn't buy them in the US. I still buy their splatfest shirts. All and All, this game just speaks to me because I do not like violent shooters. A few years ago I just got tired of all the lifelike violence and I do not think shooting people is a fun excursion. I do not like glorifying violence. But with Splatoon, I'm not killing people, i'm popping squids with ink, not bullets. So I can get my shooter fix without having to watch gore and violence. The music is dope, and the variety is amazing for the weapons and clothes. This is my favorite game series ever and I look forward to new content.
If they EVER re-release Eternal Darkness from the Gamecube on Switch, I'll subscribe to the premium service. If not, I'll keep the basic so that I can play Splatoon online. Also, why have they not remastered Eternal Darkness? That game would print money.
@Desrever Flounder Heights was one of my favorite stages from the original. It actually showed you a map of the level IN the level on a wall with how much had been inked by each team.
It was also one of the most aggressive maps in the first game because you had to fight hard in the center.
I think for me what would have had me hooked to Arms more would be if the different fighters played differently. I felt like since all their arms could be changed, so many of them played the same and it was like the same fighter over and over. I remember when it came out I really WANTED to like this game, but after a couple of hours I just didn't enjoy it. Splatoon is a way better time suck
I'm looking forward to this. I will wait until it is on sale to buy, but definitely happy to see the effort put into this. Hope it sells well so other developers take note. (And yes, I know I said I would buy it on sale). $40 doesn't seem too bad but if it was $20 I would buy it day one. I'm ok picking it up at $29 though.
I actually have better connections with this game than I did 2. I get way less frustrated with lag. However I do have a lot of people dropping from matches, including myself which I didn't deal with on 2 very often. EDIT: Forgot to mention that Rainmaker is far and away my favorite mode.
@Yapzhiyuan1994 Yeah. I was interested originally when it came out but was so glitchy. I did not know if they ever patched it. Now Wrestling Empire came out so I just play that.
@Not_Soos I agree, I do not think that is a wise decision on Nintendo's part. I think if you participated and didn't get it, 30 tickets is fine. If you didn't even try then pay 45 tickets or something like that.
@thinkhector Yeah, unfortunately for some of them, if you didn't play that weekend, you cannot go in and buy it. You are only able to go in and buy with tickets if you played that event but didn't hit 100 points. I am super excited for this because I have all of them but 4 of them listed here so I can finally collect the set!
I usually do not want old games like this. Not saying I'm spoiled to today's graphics and gameplay, but I just do not find a lot of fun in most older games. However, Yars Revenge is an all time great. I also love that they will have Jaguar games. I had a Jaguar and I'm sad it crashed and burned so hard. I'll buy this game once it's out to support my first gaming system and love of gaming (the 2600)
I used to really like Rival Turf. Mostly because there was a code so you could change every characters name in the game. And because it had a hidden area which Final Fight didn't.

@RupeeClock Thank you for this! If the NL post had this pic, I would have went with Japan. I thought the Japan one was cool but looked too blurred. I feel kind of dumb for not realizing it was just a bad scan.
@duffmmann this is exactly what I was thinking. Having the ability to sync your phone to the game and tap to jump. There were a couple of specials I liked better in the first game but this was the number one thing I missed. Tap to Jump
@JasmineDragon I'm curious as well. I did not know this was a genre until today and when I looked up this game, didn't see anything that people said were negative.
I have every single Lego Dimensions set and I'm still sad they didn't do a season 3. So even though this is a completely different concept, I think I'll give it a try.
I only pre-order if it is a game I think I will absolutely LOVE (Splatoon 3) or a game that comes with something really cool (for Animal Crossing I got the free totebag from Target). Instead of pre-order, I usually wait for games to go on sale because I have enough to play already. But for the right swag, or if it is something I REALLY want to support the developer, I'll pre-order.
@MajinSoul I actually thought the first game was super fun. I liked that the powerups were random so sometimes you could have a super powerful ship, and other playthroughs you needed more skill.
@iZen awesome! Don't be sorry. I'm not good at understanding when people are sarcastic on here. Glad you found it. One of my favorite games of the SNES era. Hope you enjoy it!

Re: Splatoon 3 Reveals Brand New Special Weapon For Fresh Season 2023
I want the seekers back. That was my favorite special from Splatoon one. Unleash the SEAKERS!
Re: Watch Out, The Kraken Is Making A Comeback In Splatoon 3
I miss the seekers and the special with as many seekers as you could send. That was slightly OP but super fun.
