@Lizuka I bought the bundle and I've yet to play Mario Kart game. I should have saved the $50. But I thought if I ever had a friend over, they may want to play Mario Kart. Then I realized I'll probably never have friends over for this. We only play MarioParty.
I wonder how many people were put off by the motorcycle in Metroid 4. I'd been waiting for this game for YEARS (like so many others) but as soon as I saw the motorcycle I was like "Nope!"
It may not be that big a part of the game, but just the thought of it makes me think of vast tedious driving around instead of action. Anyone that has played the game, what are your thoughts?
I love all the subtle pikmin stuff coming out. Maybe this will be Nintendo's version of the Minions that you start seeing everywhere. But what would be Nintendo's Labubu?
I saw the Switch 2 with Mario Kart on sale at BJs for $50 making it the same price as the 2 without it. I am NOT saying people are wrong stating that the economy is tough, but honestly there is not a reason to own a Switch 2 at this point.
Donkey Kong is ok, but isn't worth buying a system for. Mario Kart is worse than 8. Metroid I haven't played yet but the whole motorcycle thing kind of killed my interest in it for me. I am not buying Metroid for open world bike riding. All in all, I can't think of a single reason to buy a Switch 2. I'm very thankful for mine, but there is nothing on it that makes me need it. If I was still playing my OLED, I'd be fine. So I think maybe others recognized this as well. Buy your kid a new Switch 2, or just get them 2 or 3 games for their OG Switch. (I'm curious how Switch game sales are for the holiday).
Keeping it real, I've done this every year (but missed a few last year) and although most games are shovelware, there are a couple I do enjoy. There is a puzzle game (literally a puzzle) that is very basic but is really enjoyable if you want to zone out before falling asleep on a flight.
I'm at work, so can't remember the other one, but there was one other game that was just good mindless fun. I'm all for games like The Messenger, or Mario Odyssey, and of course my favorite Splatoon 3; but mind dumbing games can be fun too.
This game is on sale for $3.99 right now, and even at that price I wonder if it is overpriced. Gives me that vibe of Spirt of Speed 1937 on the Dreamcast which to this day is the WORST racing game I've ever played.
This one is TOUGH to call, but in the End I went Europe NA because of Samus' position on the box. It just seems "right". For the Japan, she looks crammed in like an afterthought. But all in all, both boxes are amazing!
This one was close between US and Japan. I felt the US was a little more Futuristic He-Man aesthetic, whereas the Japanese one was a little too much Commando / WW2 for me. Both beautiful, but I had to lean US.
I'm with others. I am really glad that this game has an easy mode, because I no longer have the time to "Get good". If I only have 5 hours a week to play games, I want to enjoy the story and see what happens. I do not want to take the time to memorize enemy patterns, or hone my skills.
With that said, I think locking hard behind beating the game on normal is cheap. To me, it is a way to make the game seem longer than it is. If it's a 20 hour game, now it's 40 hours.
This has been the most frustrating thing for me about the virtual cards. Seemed like a great idea that you could loan out games. But I have 3 switch, and you can only sync 2 together. So somehow the game I want to play is ALWAYS on the switch that isn't synced. haha
Maybe I should just do this and then re- add that switch afterwards with limited games.
Pretty much any game I get into will be a time suck. I think I play 20 minutes and it is 2 hours. haha I may give this a go eventually. It seems to be one of the ones that people are most excited about that I've seen.
I LOVE the Japan box but voted NA because it mentions Starfox 2. As someone that never thought they would get to play this game, if I saw this on the box I'd buy it asap.
I'm hype for this game. I'll probably buy for the Switch and pay for the upgrade. The Box Art is just SO much better without all the fluff at the bottom.
Like @Pillowpants said, I'm kind of burned out on anything Marvel. Haven't went to see one of their movies since the last avengers, (Other than Deadpool and Wolverine, but I don't consider that a Marvel movie even though Marvel characters because the tone is so different).
However, this game has me legit interested. I loved the arcade game (Was that '92?) as a kid. So this could legit be the beat-em-up I purchase. Although I still have the TMNT one on my wishlist.
I had NO clue this game was a Dragon Ball Z game. I never played it. Maybe if I had known as a kid, I would have played it. Dragon Ball Z was one of the only anime I can remember knowing the name of as a kid.
@bosh Just curious which country you're in? Here in NYC, I know several people that have them, and others that want them when they find one in stock. I ended up getting mine at Nintendo New York back in July because no where else had them.
ME: $100 for a controller just seems so extra. I know there is tech in there, but anything above $60 just seems harsh. Also ME: (willing to pay $130 for a new Splatoon controller...)
I hope to see a re-review once it is updated. It's a game that really interested but I don't have time to commit to a punishingly hard game. I want something like Odyssey or Wonder that I can play for an hour when I have time and not have to GG in order to enjoy it. I do like how in Wonder there are the hard levels. I remember playing a one level on a flight for 2 hours straight until I beat it. (Don't remember the name, but it's the level where platforms appear and disappear in time with the music).
I had no clue that it was this weekend. I don't remember seeing a post on here Friday about it starting at all. I try to check NintendoLife daily so not sure how I missed it. Sucks, I always like the Halloween one.
But seriously, these are GREAT numbers. I have NEVER played a Pokemon game other than Go on my Mobile. But they hype around this one kind of makes me want to give it a try.
People that play, is this something I can pick up and play for 15 minutes at a time, or is it more of a sit-down and play an hour or two at time game?
@MontyCircus Yeah, I'm with you. Physical is the way to go on this one. I am HOPING that there will be a Black Friday sale on it and I'll gobble it up quickly.
@Lady_rosalina I'd actually love a re-release of the 1st Splatoon included with the new Splatoon Spinoff game. I love all the mechanics that's been added, but something about the originals sub weapons and specials made me happiest. Maybe it's because I liked my roller with the killer Wail or even better, the barrage of seekers!
@sketchturner I wish I could say I only played Balatro for 6 hours. I'm usually not into these types of games either but probably put about 100 into that one. I eventually stopped because winning on the harder levels seems impossible for me. One bad boss blind ruins a run and I hate starting over after that.
I bought this game when it came out on switch and played it for the first time in July when I was flying 6 hours. This is a GREAT time waster. It's not something I have the urge to play when home, but it's a great distraction on a flight. This and Lumines are my goto now.
@Metazoxan I actually didn't even think about the rivalry part because Sonic and Mario yes, but I've never thought Knuckles vs Yoshi or anything. But I see your point. However, I think I'd like to do the Olympics as MegaMan or Guile from Street Fighter. So we will see what they come up with.
I don't know why first seeing this made me think of Tokyo Mirage. I think I'd rather them crossover with that. But this looks cool. I'd almost buy the game just to partake.
If they were talking about Triple A titles, like Mario, Donkey Kong, Spaltoon, Hades II, etc, it's probably 3 to 4 a year. But from eshop I probably buy about 20 a year minimum. Even though my Back Catalog is massive already, I like to support smaller developers if they make a good product. Some of them I've had for a while and still never played: Neon Abyss and Bendy and the Incredible Ink Machine, I'm looking at you. And I really wanted to play those, but I just stay too busy at work.
