Re: Missed Potential Or A Campy Classic? Switch 2 Exclusive 'Tokyo Scramble' Hasn't Been A Hit

SoIDecidedTo

@Koda1000 100% agree. That's why I have kind of given up on reviews from most sites or metacritic scores. I do like how NL reviews games. I'm usually within a point to 1.5 points from what they score it.

Like Metropolis: Lux Obscura is a 49 on Metacritic, but is actually one of my favorite match 3 puzzlers on the switch. Sure it has nudity, but I'm an adult. And a gritty themed match 3 is hilarious is concept to me, but I bought it on sale, and what I really like is the mechanic that you can slide a piece all the way down the row or column, it doesn't have to be adjacent. It has 4 endings, (I always thought there would be a hidden one). So long story short, that's why I don't believe metacritic dogpile reviews. The game is fun, but because of adult themes it go pushed down. Oh well, if they ever come out with a sequel I'll buy it. That and Lumines are my two goto games when I want to kill an hour when bored on a flight.

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Might Be Eyeing A Switch 2 Release In The Future

SoIDecidedTo

I remember this game coming out on PS5 and a few people getting so upset about the games protagonists looks and "physics". I haven't kept up with it, but at the time the creator said they wouldn't change anything. If it is truly the same game and not censored, I would buy it. I like people that stick to their vision and are not pushed around by the "morally superior". Also, I've heard it is a GREAT game.

Re: Turok Is Back, And It's Bringing The Hunt To Switch 2 Later This Year

SoIDecidedTo

@8bit-Man Agreed, this should be a new IP. I just don't like when something is called Origins and it seems like it is set further in the timeline. But I don't remember much about the first Game (never played the rest). But this seems like cashing in on the Turok name when they could do a new IP that would resonate more with me.

I'm in the camp that I really glad he is taking his time to make sure this is done right. There are SO many games that are coming out monthly anyway. I would rather someone take the time and get it how they envision it, instead of cutting corners and putting out a product they are not proud of. I'm so glad that Stardew Valley has stayed so evergreen for him. The world needs more creators that have this much passion for a project.

Re: PSA: Switch 2 Visual And Performance Improvements Included In New Rocket League Update

SoIDecidedTo

@Nep-Nep-Freak I agree. Back when I paid for it, I really enjoyed the experience. For some reason after it went free to play, I just started enjoying it less and less. I haven't played it since FTP season 7 or maybe 8. I can't remember what changed (since that was like probably 4 or 5 years ago I quit). Also had to turn off voice chat as soon as Nintendo let them add it because the last thing I want when I come home from work is a 12 year old calling me the f word because I missed a pass (after scoring all four of our goals haha). I might give it a try on Switch 2 just to see how good it looks.

Re: Splatoon 3 Ver. 11.0.0 Update Launches Later This Month

SoIDecidedTo

@phartsy Yeah, I actually liked that 2 took away the Kraken. I'd like to see the Killer Wail revert to it's original form as well. If I could have any special back, it would be the seekers that gave multiple seekers at once. That was OP as heck, but since I have such close range with the roller, it made sense to have something that could stretch the field. THat's why I use the curling bombs now.

Re: Nintendo's Investors Are Reportedly "Spooked" As Stock Slides

SoIDecidedTo

@Serpenterror Other than the switch 2 being trash (your last point), I agree with everything you said. It feels like the hubris Nintendo had after the Wii and launched the Wii U. I have a switch 2 and the number one game I play on it is.... Splatoon 3. Which I can play on my OLED. Mind you, it does look better on switch 2, but not $500 better. If I had to do it over again, I would have not have bought the switch 2 when I did (July). I would have waited for deals at black Friday or something. The $450 with Mario Kart World seems fair to me. I have yet to play Mario Kart Work and only sparingly play Donkey Kong. It just becomes so repetitive. I don't know why, but there is something about it that lacks the magic of Mario Odyssey or even Mario Wonder. I'll keep playing DK though, because it does seem to get better as the game goes on.

For the stock price, Nintendo is a great stock to make money off of. Their stock price is very cyclical. Switch 2 announcement, it went down. Switch 2 sales figures, it went up.
Now it will go down. Once they announce some games that will sell a ton (Animal Crossing, Splatoon 4, Mario, etc) it will go up again.

Re: Splatoon 3 Ver. 11.0.0 Update Launches Later This Month

@phartsy The Triple splash down I think is the most overpowered things in the game. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I had the drop on someone only for them to hit me with that. They should make the circumference of them MUCH smaller. I main the roller which means I usually fight close to people. Maybe the Triple Splash Down is less intense for people that fight from a distance, but for me, I only escape 1 out of 10 probably.

Re: 'Team Solo' Takes Gold In Splatoon 3's 'Frosty Fest' Splatfest

SoIDecidedTo

This seems rather simple. If you don't like X, don't click the link. If you are ok with it, click it. BlueSky instabans a lot of people if they say one thing that people don't agree with. It becomes an echo chamber. I do not understand why so many people think, "I don't like something, we should ban it!" Just because you do not like something doesn't mean that no one should be able to use it.

But for the reason I came to comment, Team Solo winning makes me happy. I thought Team Friends were SOLID! I could dominate a lot of the team Family though. It's weird. I've never had a splatfest like that before. If I saw the Mustard yellow ink at the beginning I KNEW we had a W. If I saw the blue, I knew it would be a battle.

Also, I greatly dislike the 10x and 100x battles. I even won ours but just don't like the concept. I could win 8 battles in a row, but then if had a 10x and lost, it defeated all of the wins I did. I'd rather each battle just count once, what do others think?

Re: Opinion: I Finally Finished Ring Fit Adventure, And It Might Be Peak Nintendo?

SoIDecidedTo

I have a friend that loves this game, and after 6 years of having a Switch, she only plays this, Zelda BoTW, and Animal Crossing. I was a little curious about it, but you make me want to give this game a try (and I go to the gym 3 times a week already (hence why I never thought I would want to try).

And funny, I misread pootling as pooting and laughed so hard. In my childhood, this was the polite term for farting and I imagined someone in the gym walking around farting. haha

Re: Nintendo Denies Using AI Images In New 'My Mario' Marketing

SoIDecidedTo

@MamaSymphonia I'm all for keeping jobs for humans and not ai, but as a former hand model (Gosh I have had an interesting life), it looks more to me like someone that is not a hand model to do some modeling.

I can hear the director saying "MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT BLOCK THE SCREEN!" but at the same time she has to hold it sturdy enough a kid can drag on it without making her move or drop the tablet.

It could be AI, but it looks more to me like a model that hasn't done hand modeling being told what to do and trying to be overly cautious.

Re: Opinion: My Daughter Made Me Realise That Mario Wonder's Difficulty Options Need Work

SoIDecidedTo

I can't imagine trying to beat a video game at 3 years old. I started on the NES and Atari 2600 and that was around age 5 or 6. Even then, I finally beat Super Mario Bros after about 29352 tries thanks to my cousin telling me about the warp pipes. I don't think every game should be made so that every player can play it easily. If we remove all skill, then why play?

I think having a couple of characters be invincible was a great idea. That way visually I know if you see those players, they can't be hurt. I'm not saying it's the right decision for everyone, but it works for me. I don't have kids though. haha

I'm all for different difficulty levels in games. Whether it be super easy so you can see the story, or super hard so you can prove that you accomplished something. But in the end, I think Wonder did WONDERful in how the system worked. If a 3 year old wants to play and keeps dying as Peach, that's fine. Eventually they'll have to get better (or give up). The point of life is to get better and grow. This is the opportunity to grow and get better, instead of just being given what you want.

Re: UK Charts: Nintendo Performs Admirably In Its Last Christmas Push

I wonder how many people were put off by the motorcycle in Metroid 4. I'd been waiting for this game for YEARS (like so many others) but as soon as I saw the motorcycle I was like "Nope!"

It may not be that big a part of the game, but just the thought of it makes me think of vast tedious driving around instead of action. Anyone that has played the game, what are your thoughts?

Re: The US Suffered Its Worst November Since 1995 In Terms Of Hardware Sales

SoIDecidedTo

I saw the Switch 2 with Mario Kart on sale at BJs for $50 making it the same price as the 2 without it. I am NOT saying people are wrong stating that the economy is tough, but honestly there is not a reason to own a Switch 2 at this point.

Donkey Kong is ok, but isn't worth buying a system for. Mario Kart is worse than 8. Metroid I haven't played yet but the whole motorcycle thing kind of killed my interest in it for me. I am not buying Metroid for open world bike riding. All in all, I can't think of a single reason to buy a Switch 2. I'm very thankful for mine, but there is nothing on it that makes me need it. If I was still playing my OLED, I'd be fine. So I think maybe others recognized this as well. Buy your kid a new Switch 2, or just get them 2 or 3 games for their OG Switch. (I'm curious how Switch game sales are for the holiday).

Re: No Gravity Games Is Giving Away 10 Free Switch Games This Month (North America)

SoIDecidedTo

Keeping it real, I've done this every year (but missed a few last year) and although most games are shovelware, there are a couple I do enjoy. There is a puzzle game (literally a puzzle) that is very basic but is really enjoyable if you want to zone out before falling asleep on a flight.

I'm at work, so can't remember the other one, but there was one other game that was just good mindless fun. I'm all for games like The Messenger, or Mario Odyssey, and of course my favorite Splatoon 3; but mind dumbing games can be fun too.

Re: Monza Legends: Classic Grand Prix 1950

SoIDecidedTo

This game is on sale for $3.99 right now, and even at that price I wonder if it is overpriced. Gives me that vibe of Spirt of Speed 1937 on the Dreamcast which to this day is the WORST racing game I've ever played.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Difficulty Settings Revealed By Nintendo

SoIDecidedTo

I'm with others. I am really glad that this game has an easy mode, because I no longer have the time to "Get good". If I only have 5 hours a week to play games, I want to enjoy the story and see what happens. I do not want to take the time to memorize enemy patterns, or hone my skills.

With that said, I think locking hard behind beating the game on normal is cheap. To me, it is a way to make the game seem longer than it is. If it's a 20 hour game, now it's 40 hours.
