Re: The US Suffered Its Worst November Since 1995 In Terms Of Hardware Sales

SoIDecidedTo

I saw the Switch 2 with Mario Kart on sale at BJs for $50 making it the same price as the 2 without it. I am NOT saying people are wrong stating that the economy is tough, but honestly there is not a reason to own a Switch 2 at this point.

Donkey Kong is ok, but isn't worth buying a system for. Mario Kart is worse than 8. Metroid I haven't played yet but the whole motorcycle thing kind of killed my interest in it for me. I am not buying Metroid for open world bike riding. All in all, I can't think of a single reason to buy a Switch 2. I'm very thankful for mine, but there is nothing on it that makes me need it. If I was still playing my OLED, I'd be fine. So I think maybe others recognized this as well. Buy your kid a new Switch 2, or just get them 2 or 3 games for their OG Switch. (I'm curious how Switch game sales are for the holiday).

Keeping it real, I've done this every year (but missed a few last year) and although most games are shovelware, there are a couple I do enjoy. There is a puzzle game (literally a puzzle) that is very basic but is really enjoyable if you want to zone out before falling asleep on a flight.

I'm at work, so can't remember the other one, but there was one other game that was just good mindless fun. I'm all for games like The Messenger, or Mario Odyssey, and of course my favorite Splatoon 3; but mind dumbing games can be fun too.

This game is on sale for $3.99 right now, and even at that price I wonder if it is overpriced. Gives me that vibe of Spirt of Speed 1937 on the Dreamcast which to this day is the WORST racing game I've ever played.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Difficulty Settings Revealed By Nintendo

I'm with others. I am really glad that this game has an easy mode, because I no longer have the time to "Get good". If I only have 5 hours a week to play games, I want to enjoy the story and see what happens. I do not want to take the time to memorize enemy patterns, or hone my skills.

With that said, I think locking hard behind beating the game on normal is cheap. To me, it is a way to make the game seem longer than it is. If it's a 20 hour game, now it's 40 hours.

Re: New Marvel Cosmic Invasion Trailer Highlights The Hero-Swapping Tag-Team Feature

Like @Pillowpants said, I'm kind of burned out on anything Marvel. Haven't went to see one of their movies since the last avengers, (Other than Deadpool and Wolverine, but I don't consider that a Marvel movie even though Marvel characters because the tone is so different).

However, this game has me legit interested. I loved the arcade game (Was that '92?) as a kid. So this could legit be the beat-em-up I purchase. Although I still have the TMNT one on my wishlist.

Re: Bandai Namco Is Looking To Revamp 'Shadow Labyrinth' In An Upcoming Update

I hope to see a re-review once it is updated. It's a game that really interested but I don't have time to commit to a punishingly hard game. I want something like Odyssey or Wonder that I can play for an hour when I have time and not have to GG in order to enjoy it. I do like how in Wonder there are the hard levels. I remember playing a one level on a flight for 2 hours straight until I beat it. (Don't remember the name, but it's the level where platforms appear and disappear in time with the music).

Mario Kart 8 is not in the top 10? #Nintendoomed!

But seriously, these are GREAT numbers. I have NEVER played a Pokemon game other than Go on my Mobile. But they hype around this one kind of makes me want to give it a try.

People that play, is this something I can pick up and play for 15 minutes at a time, or is it more of a sit-down and play an hour or two at time game?

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

SoIDecidedTo

If they were talking about Triple A titles, like Mario, Donkey Kong, Spaltoon, Hades II, etc, it's probably 3 to 4 a year. But from eshop I probably buy about 20 a year minimum. Even though my Back Catalog is massive already, I like to support smaller developers if they make a good product. Some of them I've had for a while and still never played: Neon Abyss and Bendy and the Incredible Ink Machine, I'm looking at you. And I really wanted to play those, but I just stay too busy at work.

Re: Opinion: Ogre Battle 64: Person Of Lordly Caliber's Revolutionary Heart Still Burns Brightly

SoIDecidedTo

This game was so awesome, until it ruined it for me... I'd played a ways in, probably like 10 hours or so and was really enjoying everything about it when it was on the Wii eshop.

But then... I had an enemy pop up and kill me super quickly. I THOUGHT I had saved it recently, but apparently was so engrossed that I had played about 4 or 5 hours without saving. EVERYTHING gone in an instant. I never played it again.

Yes, it was my fault. But at the same time not having a way to reclaim all of the work made me never want to play again. I wasn't going into a big fight or anything, just randomly attacked and slaughtered. My memory is a little fuzzy now on where it was at in the game (it's been 15 years), but I said I'd never play it again and I didn't.

However, if you have NOT played this game before, I highly recommend it. Just save more than my ignorant self.

@PinderSchloss You're so right! This is like what someone in 1985 would think someone in 2025 would want for their case design. haha

I've actually looking for a case for my Switch 2. I've got the Splatoon 2 case from RDS Industries for my Switch 1 and absolutely love it. The Artwork is awesome and it's got room for 8 carts (or 8 carts and a memory card) and even a zipper pocket. Been with me on probably over 100 trips and still does great. I haven't found an RDS Case that has the zipper pocket for Switch 2. Hopefully they'll come out with one.

Re: SEGA Announces New Olympic Merch Collab, Reigniting Hopes Of A Mario & Sonic Comeback

When I saw this article earlier today, my first thought was, Now it's going to be Sonic and others and it will leave Nintendo out so that it can go cross platform. Hello Pacman, Crash Bandicoot, Spryro the Dragon, and Lara Croft. And maybe each system gets some of theirs: Nintendo gets Mario, Luigi, and maybe a couple of others. Xbox gets Master Chief, Conker, Banjo. And Sony gets Kratos, Sly Cooper, etc.
