Do what you want, Warner Bros. I've not bought any of your games, or indeed any other of your products, for a long time anyway. And I've no intention to change any time soon.

I'm just completely apathetic to it. I don't know why, I just don't care. It'll be a maximum of a couple of hours long, so there's no way they can make anything as engaging as playing the games. So what's the point?

They certainly saved a lot of Mario games for Winter 2023/2024. But, yeah, this list definitely feels like an "end of life" game line-up.

@HammerKirby Yeah, just like that, but with analogue sticks too. I guess an Xbox controller is the closest modern equivalent.

I wish they would make a controller with a rolling d-pad.

I'm actually struggling to catch what the new actor is saying. Maybe it's the sounds mix, so the voice is too low, but I honestly don't know what he's saying.

Man, 'd love a Resident Evil Revelations 3, or Project X Zone 3, although Bandai Namco publish those.

@BenAV They did they same thing on all other consoles too. I was going to get the game on PS4, but the disc doesn't contain the full game and forces a mandatory download. So I never bought it. Same reason I never bought the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

It's definitely the best Mario game I've played. After the awful copy-and-paste 'New' Super Mario Bros games, this is such a breath of fresh air and an incredible turn around.

I'm glad the reviewer actually bothered to play Superstars after they couldn't be bothered when reviewing Frontiers.

The original Mega Drive trilogy remains fantastic gaming, and Mania is great. I've yet to try Superstars. In the 3D sphere, Colours and Frontiers are both brilliant games.

Holy crap, Mario Wonder is good! Like, really really great! This is the best 2D Mario I've even played!!

So yeah, I'm playing that!

The NSMB series was scored highly when those games came out too, but they're incredibly mediocre and forgettable. I'm afraid I just can't trust reviewers on Mario games anymore.

I think you mean North American covers. Pretty certain Europe was also classed as "Western" the last time I checked.

I'm not a fan of the weird circle bases, instead of proper base plates. It gives the sets a strange anorexic look. And the colours are off on some, especially Julian's birthday party. Looks more Duplo or Lego Friends.

As a standalone game, TotK was excellent. As a direct sequel, it was disappointing. The lack of consistency or explanations for things which had vanished really bothered me when I played it.

How do Lego and Nintendo combined keep screwing up what should be slam-dunk sets?! I was hoping for a wider range overall; simple sets and complicated sets. Something for every kind of fan. These are all clearly aimed at young children. No catering to the older fans whatsoever.

Not a chance. Nintendo's digital experience is awful.
They very rarely put their games on sale, and I'm not paying £50 or £60 per game.
They also have no way to refund purchases if the game is broken or bad.
And they've shown that they're quite happy to discontinue old eShops, so you'll eventually lose access to games you paid for.

Buying a digital-only Switch locks you into buying from a single store, eliminating competition, removing the ability to return or trade in a game, and has no guarantee that you'll even be able to keep accessing your content. Like I said. Not. A. Chance.

If they're anything like previous releases, Sonic will be interesting, but short and buggy, and Mario will be solid, but boring and bland.

That was a lot of words just to say you feel it's easier to get out a handheld to play than a home console. That's literally the only "for" argument you offered. Very strange article, to argue for customer exploitation.

@Nintoz I played the whole game on Switch and absolutely loved it. There were basically no glitches. Only tiny physics glitches occasionally and that was it. Nothing game-breaking, nothing to ruin the experience. The reviewer here tore it apart, but after playing the game it's clear they simply never bothered to learn the controls. It takes a bit to fully get used to Sonic's momentum and moves, but once it clicks, it's really good. And you can endlessly customise just about everything in the options. Don't like the turning sensitivity? Adjust it. Want to change Sonic's top speed? You can do that.

Graphically on Switch, it undeniably looks poorer than on other systems, but the sacrifice means that the performance is actually really good. It's quite a smooth experience on Switch. It's a pretty good port. And I really don't know where these rumours of glitches came from.

Every new feature sounds like something that should have been offered as free updates. Also, what's the point of that teaser trailer?! It's a game! Show us some actual sodding gameplay!

When did people get so obsessed with specs? Were people upset when the DS didn't match the power of a PS2? No. Were people upset when the 3DS didn't match the power of a PS3? No. They sold well due to their game libraries. Presumably the new Switch is a handheld too. It's a mass-market handheld! Of course it's not going to be on par with the PS5. If you want the highest power possible, then buy a custom PC. If you want the highest power consoles can offer, buy a PS5 or Xbone. If you want the ability to play on the go, buy a Steamdeck or Switch.

@Teksetter Same. Loved it, but then the endings just destroyed any interest I had in replaying it when updates arrived.

@epicgamner You're right. It's not as big a violation of trust as amiibo festival was.

It was okay if you like Mario and ports. Otherwise it was awful. Just nothing interesting at all.

@Serpenterror Fair enough I guess. Good for new players. And hopefully it does sell well so that Miyamoto gets lost and takes his outdated ideas about Paper Mario games not needing good stories or characters with him.

It's like Metroid Prime: Federation Force, or Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival all over again.

I've still got the originals (but yet to play them). I wonder if there's anything new here to make it worth a second purchase?

I'm hoping for more Layton footage. Although Level 5 also has a show at Tokyo Game Show, and are set to show off the game there.
