Wow, it is a great month! I'll definitely be getting Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Everybody's Golf, and Silksong when it gets a physical release. I might grab Trails when its price comes down, too.
Nice. I see my link to another review was removed. I obviously hurt someone's feelings.
I just got this controller and it's brilliant. Buttons feel great, it's got a rolling d-pad, hall effect analogue sticks, gyro that works perfectly, and all the Switch Pro Controller buttons. What else could you expect for £30?
The PS5, PS4, and Switch 1 versions are all £55 on Nisa Europe's site, meanwhile Switch 2 key card is £60. Are these cards so expensive that even one with no game on it costs more to produce???
Of course keeping online games up indefinitely would be ridiculously expensive, I think the main point of the movement is to keep an offline portion available to players who paid for their content, so they can access that as long as they like. Game developers managed to make offline games for 40 years. Why is it such an impossibility now?
Impressions are everything, and ever since the Switch 2 reveal direct, Nintendo have given an extremely anti-consumer, nickel-and-diming impression. At present, I'm not interested in buying a Switch 2 because of this.
I'm not surprised. Publishers want to have their cake and eat it. The key cards are supposed to make games cheaper, but they still cost the same or even more than Switch 1 releases which have the full game on cartridge. Plus, most of the current releases are older titles, available much cheaper on other platforms. And Nintendo want £75 for Mario Kart. People aren't made of money, so they've chosen the new Nintendo game only.
@Jeronan I must confess, I assumed if you stopped paying, you'd just lose them. I use the 1 free box, but can't imagine paying to store bytes of data, when you 15gb free with a google account.
The carbon engine typically runs games pretty poorly. I'll probably stick to the virtual releases on PS3 and Vita for now. Might look at some footage online of this collection after it's patched and on sale.
Paying for Home is a scam. Pokemon games don't support cloud saves because they know it's a big enough franchise to get away with charging people extra just for its save data. People telling this guy that he should have paid money incase Nintendo's proper transfer process didn't work, are just seriously unaware they're being scammed.
Of course they are. They pay even less to produce a game, while charging customers more and making them foot the bill for storage costs. And the worst thing is that many people will not care, or actively defend getting less value for their money. It's insane.
@sikthvash I'll admit my main problem is how much of it is digital-only. I was only counting physical games, which is obviously disingenuous, but I absolutely hate the huge shift towards digital-only gaming for this console. I appreciate the list though; thanks for that. I just don't see myself buying a Switch 2 with the price increases and move towards digital-only.
@Smithicus Exactly my thoughts too. Switch 2 has one exclusive, two ports/cross-gen, and a load of key card trash. It's the worst launch lineup I've ever seen for a console.
Will their standard retail releases be available in other retailers, or only from their website? And why are they ESRB-rated covers when it's a UK-based company ? (actually, we all know why)
Can't say I've ever had the inclination to try an energy drink. It's a shame all these companies and Nlife are still using Xitter too. I thought we'd want to rally against the ownership.
Pretty cool, but expensive. I'm happy that Thank Goodness You're Here is getting a physical release. I'll grab the standard retail edition. Do we know when they'll release yet?
Each of the 3 console manufacturers have taken it in turns over the last few years to show exactly how little they care for their dedicated customers. To me, they're literally screaming at us to not buy their products if we don't want ripped off. So I won't. Switch and PS4 are my last consoles from Nintendo and Sony (I've never bothered with Xbox). I've bought plenty of games in the last decade or so to keep me going for good.

Re: Reminder: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds 'Open Network Test' For Switch Is Now Live
Played for a few hours yesterday. It feels great to play! So fast and fun!
Re: Gulikit Unveils New Premium Controllers Compatible With Switch And Switch 2
The Elves 2 controller is brilliant, I'd definitely recommend it!
Re: Review: Discounty (Switch) - Chilled Out Supermarket Sim Is A Decent Deal
@kendomustdie Thanks for the answer! Seems like a bizarre omission to me.
Re: Review: Discounty (Switch) - Chilled Out Supermarket Sim Is A Decent Deal
Has it got touchscreen support for using the till calculator?
Re: Sega Drops OST Remix Video For Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Looks and sounds great to me! 😄

Re: Could This Mysterious Super Mario 40th Anniversary X Account Be Legit?
Hopefully not. I'd rather they'd stop supporting that platform.
Re: Best Sonic Games Of All Time
@PrincessZeldatwoY I've since played Superstars. It lacks a bit of polish, but I really enjoyed it!

Re: Review: Gulikit Elves 2 Controller For Switch & Switch 2 - Wake-Up Support Can't Make Up For The Downgrades
That cons list is a joke. For £30, with hall effect sticks, rumble, a proper rolling d-pad, wireless, and gyro aiming, this controller sounds great!
Re: Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack Won't Offer Switch Upgrade Path Or Save Data Transfer
Just Tecmo Koei being scummy as usual. Nothing new here. The Atelier games always end up with DX versions later on.
Re: Octopath 0 Is A Game-Key Card On Switch 2, And Square Enix Has "No Plans" For A Switch 1 Upgrade Option
Still no reason to buy a Switch 2 if publishers still aren't putting the games on cartridges.
Re: Disgaea 7 Complete Lands Western Switch 2 Release Date
Shame it's digital-only in the west.
Re: Marvel's New Beat 'Em Up 'Cosmic Invasion' Reveals Two More Playable Characters
Looks fun. I'll get the complete edition after they've added DLC, released an anniversary edition, then released more DLC.
Re: NIS America: Trails Beyond The Horizon Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release Is "Most Beneficial Option" For Fans
The PS5, PS4, and Switch 1 versions are all £55 on Nisa Europe's site, meanwhile Switch 2 key card is £60. Are these cards so expensive that even one with no game on it costs more to produce???
Re: EA Sports FC 26 Brings A New Season To Switch 2 This September
Switch 2 version is a key card, Switch 1 version requires a download. Neither have the game on cartridge.
Re: Square Enix Rules Out Switch 2 "Upgrade Path" For Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
So it's only physical on Switch 1. Gotcha. Another win for Switch 1.
Re: Nintendo Is Seeking Player Feedback On Game-Key Cards In Japan
I'll be saving so much of my money, since many publishers have decided they don't want it anymore!

Re: Lunar Remastered Collection Scores "Limited-Edition" Collector's Boxset
Here's a link to the European store, since Nlife could only be bothered to link the US one: https://shop.clearrivergames.com/products/lunar-remastered-collection-althenas-treasure-box-no-game
Re: Switch 2 Exclusive 'Drag x Drive' Won't Include Local Multiplayer Support
There's usually some kind of daft flaw in Nintendo's own eShop games.
Re: Aardman Flocks Onto Switch This Fall With A Chicken Run Heist Game
"Outright Games"
Oh well, nothing to see here.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Officially Reveals Nickelodeon Collaboration
I'd rather they use the slots for Sega IP, like in All-Stars Racing Transformed. Why can't they do that again?
Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"
I'm not surprised. Publishers want to have their cake and eat it. Re: Capcom Is Recording Switch 2 Game-Key Card Purchases As "Digital Sales"
In other news scientists are recording water as a liquid.
Re: Mini Review: Sonic X Shadow Generations (Switch 2) - Definitely Improved, But SEGA's Shafting Early Adopters
Feels just like being a Wii U owner and having Nintendo put out low-effort ports on Switch for full price. But that was fine, apparently.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Switch 2 Version Announced Alongside "Paid Upgrade" For Switch
@Suketoudara There's a Minecraft racetrack in the trailer, so it's at least not just characters for Minecraft.
Re: Publishers Are "Thanking" Nintendo For Game-Key Cards On Switch 2
Of course they are. They pay even less to produce a game, while charging customers more and making them foot the bill for storage costs. And the worst thing is that many people will not care, or actively defend getting less value for their money. It's insane.
Re: Rumour: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Character Leaks Reportedly Surface
Hopefully there's only a few of these and it's mostly characters from other Sega franchises.

Re: Rumour: Iconic Studio Codemasters May Soon Close For Good
Get bought by EA, get closed down. It's what they do to every developer they touch. I expected as much when they bought Codemasters. So sad to see.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Secures Switch & Switch 2 Release Date
@TheExile285 Something will replace it if we stop using it. Companies will always find a way to advertise.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Secures Switch & Switch 2 Release Date
Lol. Pay to "upgrade" for basic stuff like improved framerate. That should come as standard for shelling out for the more powerful console.
Also, shame we're still using Xitter for news. Using it is supporting a terrible person.
Re: Street Fighter 6 Somehow Combines Game-Key Card And Code-In-A-Box On Switch 2
It's wild that the Switch 2 is launching with one exclusive, physical game. Probably the worst console launch in history.
Re: Feature: "Game-Key Cards Don't Sit Right With Us" - Lost In Cult Dives Into Its New Physical Games Line

Re: 'Thank Goodness You're Here' Headlines Physical Game Label From Lost In Cult
Pretty cool, but expensive. I'm happy that Thank Goodness You're Here is getting a physical release. I'll grab the standard retail edition. Do we know when they'll release yet?
Re: Talking Point: The Switch 2 Pre-Order Situation Sucks, But Can Nintendo Do Anything About It?
So it's fine everywhere except America, but your headline and article panders just to American readers, as usual.
Re: Nintendo: "Physical Games Are Still A Key Part Of Our Business"
Yep, a benefit for the poor, struggling (definitely not multi-billion dollar) companies. But with costs passed onto the customer instead.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Ghosting Switch 1 To Save Yourself For Switch 2?
I've still loads of games in the backlog on Switch and PS4. No need to buy the awful-looking Switch 2 or PS5.
Re: Pokémon GO Doubling Amount Of Daily Remote Raids Has Nothing To Do With New Owners
*Number. Not amount.
Re: Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered Physical Switch Release On The Way
I'll wait for the proper retail release here in Europe again. Hopefully it'll be out soon.
