@Adol-Bannings Oh absolutely, NA is a huge market with one language. I get that. It's just frustrating sometimes trying to find an article about games, anime, or manga coming to Europe, written in English. Google points to NA release dates and articles, even if you put "Europe" in the search most of the time.
@TeaCatherine It's pretty much a lost cause at this point. I'd be happy if they just pointed out when news stories only apply to NA (as this one does). NA-only news will be posted with no indication of such in the headline or tagline, then it might state deep in the article that it only applies to NA. EU-only news will have a big "only in Europe" or similar in the headline, with "not confirmed for NA" in the tagline, and finally the first line of the article will say, "This hasn't been confirmed for NA yet, but don't worry Americans, we'll update it immediately if we hear differently! Don't worry!!!!!!!" Everything is targeted towards Americans. Everyone else is secondary.
New art style, more expression, new music, new playable characters, and much more imaginative looking levels. I've never been so hyped for a 2D Mario game in my life!
Well Frontiers' DLC pack 2 is supposed to include "Sonic's Birthday", which is on friday, so I assume that'll drop at the end of the presentation. Some more details of release plans for Super Stars would be be nice too. I wouldn't mind a port of a classic Sonic game, but Sega's record with those isn't great; the Colours remaster was poor, and they've screwed up Origins too.
An actually good-looking Mario game for once has me stunned. Warioware will be a laugh, and I'm interested in Detective Pikachu. Of course Sonic Superstars looks great, and the full Pikmin collection on Switch is nice. Might look at Star ocean, too. Overall, a pretty good Direct.
@duffmmann Full disclosure, it's probably the over the top, fake happiness of the players and American accent of the host. I'm probably being unfairly critical as a Brit, but these (usually American) fake, overreaction-filled adverts are just grating.
There's a ton of stuff on sale, but I'm mostly winding down my Switch purchases now. I've bought plenty of games for the machine.
"we can't do as we usually do and list every available discount"
Literally when was the last time you actually did that?
"What we have done, however, is pull out some of the biggest titles currently on sale and listed them below."
No you didn't. You copied Nintendo's highlights.
This would have been brilliant on the Wii U, shame they never released any Etrian games on it. But these straight remasters sound like they're definitely not worth £72 on Switch!
I don't see why not, if they changed it substantionally. Underwater exploration and maybe proper flying would be cool. They'd need some meaty new side stuff this time, though. Not just exploring the whole map again and collecting korok seeds or holding up signs.
Or just do the exact same thing again. Many people seemingly want to play the same thing over and over again these days. Just look at how many have been crying about ports of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker for Switch for the entire generation.
@ManifoldCuriosity Assuming you've played TP and WW before, you realise those two sentences contradict each other?
Cool! My brother actually went to university with some of the people who made this game. This was their game design project when they graduated. My brother helped playtest it back then. So cool to see it finally release!
Push Square was very critical of the micro-transactions and explained just how horrendously slow earning new stuff in the game has been made in order to get kids to buy premium currency. Anyway, I'll just copy my comment I made there:
"Absolutely disgusting. The Lego group have apparently shown their true colours here, and should be ashamed of themselves. It's a full-priced kids game, with multiple DLC "seasons", and aggressive micro-transactions! It's seriously impacted my view of Lego as a company."
This is a paid service, and also the only way to save Pokémon in the cloud because Pokémon games aren't compatible with the Switch'es cloud saving (so they can fleece even more money out of you). The games have been out for 6 months. This is pathetic.
You mean "unlockables". " Unlocks" is a verb. The title is looking for a noun, i.e. "unlockables" in this case. It would be like writing a guide "to all hidden collects" when it should be "collectables/collectibles".
@KevinP Okay, maybe it's the best Mario game ever. But I'm not really a fan of Mario games, so for me, there's plenty of other games that I would rate far higher than any Mario game. Sorry if me having a different opinion annoys you.
Nice false headline there, par for the course on Nlife. According to the quote, flying was held back by limitations, not "areas". The underground not being in was because the developers didn't want to / couldn't in time, make the full underground area. Gliding was the compromise added in the end.
What I'll never forgive is the Switch'es limitations meaning we lost almost all gamepad functionality. It was not a good look when you're having to cut features on your old console because your new one actually has fewer capabilities.
It feels like there's a new Dragon Ball game released every year, with copious amounts of DLC. Honestly would like to try one, but Namco have completely saturated their own market to the extent that I've literally no idea which are good, and which ones (if any) don't have content cut out to be held back as DLC.
I've still got one of these in a drawer, and it still works! Was one of the coolest electronic toys I had. I loved it. Thank heavens Nintendo aren't as ridiculous about this kind of stuff as they used to be, because it sounds like an absolute nightmare.
How much did Amazon pay you to write this article? Only Amazon links when other places are cheaper, and only 5 games actually get a blurb written about them? Lazy.
@Mauzuri So you'd rather the game beat itself? What's the point in playing it then? What's wrong with any of the puzzles anyway? Most of them teach you gameplay mechanics.
@Switch_Pro Okay, but I still don't see the point. Why pay full-price for remakes of GBA games that are basically the same, and until very recently were available for a fraction of the price?
So, the usual remaster that changes basically nothing and Nintendo will charge full price for? What's the point? I got them on virtual console for far cheaper.
Yaaaaaawn. Same non-sales as ever from Nintendo. I got both Tropical Freeze and 3D World for under £20 each in the selects range on Wii U. These prices on Switch are insulting.
Whilst I'm not planning on seeing it, this is similar to the critical reaction to the Sonic movies, and they were both loved much more by fans and families (myself included). So I don't know how much stock we can actually put in these critics' reviews.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - WarioWare Gold
@Circasurviver And then our European one doesn't even have the "playable in 2D" text either. Use ours, Nlife! XD
Re: Batman Arkham Trilogy For Switch Only Includes One Title On The Game Cartridge
Well that was obvious. No buy.
Re: Talking Point: Is Super Mario Bros. Wonder Really A Departure From The 'New' Series?
New art style, more expression, new music, new playable characters, and much more imaginative looking levels. I've never been so hyped for a 2D Mario game in my life!

Re: WarioWare: Move It! Wiggles Its Way Onto Switch In November
The camera position of that dog microgame is unfortunate.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder, A Brand New 2D Mario Game, Is Coming To Switch
Genuinely looks like the best 2D Mario I've ever seen! Mario's gone full drugs, and I love it!
Re: Random: It's Zelda, Not Beyoncé, Who's Apparently Contributing To UK Inflation
@Mattock1987 @TeaCatherine Well we used to, I guess. I still do.
Re: Random: It's Zelda, Not Beyoncé, Who's Apparently Contributing To UK Inflation
@ComfyAko @Mattock1987 That 's what people call "videogames" in the UK.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming Party Game Everybody 1-2-Switch! Showcases "100 Players At Once"
I think Nintendo have actually lost their minds. This trailer is awful, but I am genuinely curious to see how this plays out.
Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Wednesday 21st June 2023
Yay, hoping for some new Layton footage! Other than that, whatever is good. Surprise me!
Re: Long-Rumoured LEGO Football Game Has Been Rated In Korea
Damn. I would have been really interested in this, but it's 2K, so it'll be full of mtx crap. A crying shame.
Re: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Dev's New Racer Is Mario Kart Meets Battle Royale
Well, Tencent bought Sumo Digital unfortunately. So this makes sense.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Final DLC "Coming Later In 2023", Here's A Teaser
"You can see this brief scene play out at the 1:04:30 mark in the video above."
Seeing as this is wrong, can someone point me to the actual timestamp in the video where I can see the footage?
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Sonic Superstars Are In
Looking good! This looks like it's got a lot of imagination in it. The octopus part for example I'm looking forward to seeing more.
@Yosti Hopefully NLife will get a reviewer who actually plays the game this time, instead of leaving a troll review.
Re: Can You Match These Zeldas To The Game They're From?
16/17
Damn, just got #5 wrong. I thought she was Phantom Hourglass Zelda, not Minish Cap.

Re: Bye Sweet Carole Is A Gorgeous Horror Adventure With Disney-Style Visuals
What's even the point if there's no gameplay footage? What is this, a game or a movie? It might be an amazing game, but that trailer is waste of time.
Re: Sonic Origins Plus Physical Listing Says New Content Is "Downloadable Via Included Code"
Good thing I never pre-ordered. Laughably poor from Sega here.

@Nintendo4Sonic I'm sure it was a decent Mario game, but the second best game ever? No. Just no.

Fantastic to see. Can't wait to get my copy!! Boy, Mario Odyssey is overrated on OpenCritic though!

Re: Alien: Isolation - The Collection Physical Edition Announced For Nintendo Switch
Stupid. Sega are a big enough company to release this themselves, just like they did on PS3 and Xbox 360. Either release it properly, or don't bother.
Re: Sonic Frontiers Director Confirms Ian Flynn Will Write "New" DLC Story
I'm really looking forward to this DLC. The base game was great in gameplay, music, and writing. I'm hoping this will be awesome too!
@NinjaNicky I think you probably need to upgrade your speed by collecting Kocos.
Re: Sonic The Hedgehog Gets Four New Lego Sets, Features Tails And Amy
I'd love to get these for the characters, but they're sooo expensive (that last price is wrong, it's £94.99!!!).
Re: Random: Fan Recreates Bowser's Mario Movie Song, 'Peaches', In WarioWare DIY
Much better than the actual, awful song.
Re: Mario Movie's Jack Black Song 'Peaches' Now Eligible For Oscar Nomination

Visually, it looks gorgeous, but gameplay looks so boring unfortunately.
