The backgrounds look like they were made in Corel Draw 10, which was amazing. But not '2025 remaster'-amazing.

Still, it's a big step up from Dragon Quest 1-3, which still hurts my eyes just thinking about it.

Japan is a bit under-saturated but has the most balanced composition and looks most coherent.

How hard can it be to create a truly great game with this material? I keep hoping but they seem to go for quantity over quality. It’s not that the series is bad, but it never used its full potential after the GB(A) era.
They should just release a game every 5-7 years and make it really polished!

Must we really see cloud’s face everywhere, all the time? They should really give that character a 15 year rest, at the very least!

Ah yes, let’s forget about how most 1st gen Pokemon were complete rip-offs from Dragon Quest.

But I do hope they’ll give some attention to the lesser known games like 5 and 7

How nice it must be to play Mario Party on a working Switch with functioning joy-con.

Judging from the trailer, this game needs PS5’s insane loading times, so I guess a lot will depend on that.

Please no, we have too much Star Wars media as is. It’s lost much of its magic.

Whenever I play 1 hour of a new Monster Hunter game, I keep wishing for:

• fast paced, fluent combat (Ys, Hyrule Warriors)
• those cats to shut up. I love cats but jeesh
• a much faster gameplay loop. Everything feels so sluggish in these games.

Why do I get the feeling they’d be much better off releasing fewer games? It’s like every game is almost good, but it feels a bit unfinished from the outside. I can never get into them, but desperately want to.

NA/E really catches the eye and works perfectly. But for some reason, Japan is much more intriguing. It’s the contradiction between the simplicity of the design, and the absurdity of that face in gold.

I double dipped last time. But I’ll wait.
Maybe another 100% run of TR2 in the meantime.

This can be a good thing if Switch 2’s backwards compatibility also improves performance. It would mean that there could be a ‘goldilocks’ zone of games that strike a balance between having to perform well on Switch, allowing them to run butter smooth on Switch 2

Glad this is finally confirmed for Civilisation and Baldur’s Gate purposes.
But I do hope this is as accurate as a PC mouse.

Well this makes it easier for me not to buy this. I was on the fence but now I’ll wait for some definitive edition, if it ever comes. Otherwise there’s no way I’m paying +- 80€ for the full experience.

@Medic_alert I really wouldn’t count on Switch 2 being a huge powerhouse of a console. These restrictions might still be necessary for all we know.
The fact that they’re not boasting about any specs in that reveal video is concerning.

It was never the leaks that made this reveal unremarkable 🤷‍♂️

I remember my first time playing Assassin’s Creed, thinking the game knew where I wanted to go. It felt like magic, but there were also moments where it did everything but the thing you wanted to do. So I’m curious how consistent this will be.

There’s not much of a contest, is there? That map with the cramped faces just looks weird.

I will only be able to play this if there is an option to remove those horrid vocals from the otherwise perfect battle theme

I’m really gutted that I haven’t been able to finish this. I was completely in love with it, but now have too much repetitive grinding to do, right before the end.

My money’s on a partner showcase. 1st party Nintendo games are probably out of the question until the Switch 2 Direct.

Still think it’s a huge mistake to reveal something without showing any games for so long. Makes it feel like they’re unsure about their product.
