Re: Nintendo Identifies Xenoblade Chronicles X Voice Sync Bug On Switch 2

Here’s Nintendo trying to milk this with an ultimate Switch 2 edition with some DLC slapped on. Instead of just giving the Switch 2 upgrade all the love for the console’s release.
There is no other reason than a tactical one and loyal fans are the weakest link in this equation.

With companies using a.i. to scan the internet and map the general public’s opinion, we should all speak out about this and not buy the Switch version before a patch comes out!

These tactics only work if we keep being blinded by dancing mushrooms and flying robots.

@RupeeClock I would look at this differently if Nintendo had actually made some efforts in terms of accessibility.
For a company that loves to experiment with controllers, I don’t understand why they haven’t released a customisable controller like Sony has.
There’s also no visual aids in Nintendo games. They probably think a high contrast mode would ruin their perfect visuals.
But if they want to make disabilities look cool (and use ‘representation’ as a selling point), that seems like the least they should offer.

@Folkloner Budget constrains for Nintendo, eh?
Poor Nintendo couldn’t afford a character designer for this one. They look at things on a ‘game-to-game’ basis so that means no budget for wheelchair games.

My main issue is that Nintendo has done very little in terms of accessibility in recent years, while every Sony game is full of options.
And now they want to play the ‘representation’ card, but they don’t want to spend one cent turning these into real people.

This is not about representation for them. This is: “our new mouse can be used as a cool wheelchair” and nothing else.

@Dr_Lugae I’m not saying they don’t have creative elements or that every game is the same. That’s what I mean by lost potential.
It’s just that every game has these empty characters and I never care about any of them.
Just compare it to a game like Ni No Kuni.
Imagine what Pokemon could be if they’d put all their efforts into crafting one game with a rich world and relatable characters. It’s not as if they don’t have the resources.
It just feels like “We know this will sell, even if we don’t go the extra mile”
