Can anyone recommend a really good Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons style game to start with on Switch? I loved Harvest Moon 64 but haven’t played any good ones since.

I will continue to speak up, as should we all. We need to combat fascism in EVERY way possible. That includes not enriching people who use that money to buy governments.

I frankly don’t care anymore what people think of my idealism. Being on the right side of history is more important to me. I’m pretty sure the makers are reading these comments. That’s what you do when your Zelda video gets featured on NintendoLife.
So I want to tell them: don’t let needlessly cruel comments get to you. But let’s face it, this isn’t ready yet.
There’s certainly a lot of passion, which is probably the most important factor when making something great. But I really think that should be backed up by some more technical skills and knowledge about shot types and camera movements, and why you use them. Some people can learn this without film school, so you’ll have to find your best route. But try to make some more films before trying to handle that kind of money. And for your own good, take this offline asap and create original content!

I haven’t played it so I won’t rate, but man that looks rough. Seems like they could at least have made those visuals a bit more appealing, with minimal effort. These games are all about colour and there’s this grey fog over everything.

Wait, this doesn’t say much.

Let’s say a company has €9999999 billion to pay their CEO and the only two employees. The CEO pays himself 9999997 and the employees only get 1€/month each. The average salary will still be 3333333 billion but that doesn’t tell us anything about how much of a disparity there is between a CEO and a janitor.

The Japanese one seems like it would be very unappealing for children.

Does anyone really need Mario Kart 9?
I thought that itch has been thoroughly scratched in recent years.

Of course we know it will come eventually. I never said Mario Kart 9 wasn’t coming. This just looks like it’s at least been heavily adjusted for this presentation. My only point is that it’s useless to assume we’ll be getting 24 racers, based on a clip where they changed Donkey’s face because he was in the background.

This was what I was afraid of.
We will now be getting hundreds of articles based on the tiny clip Nintendo showed us that never confirmed anything.
It’s a tech demo. There might be some elements of it in a game that will eventually become Mario Kart 9, but this is not that game, so polls about game modes are absolutely useless unless they make it clear that this is all speculation.

I’ve played I & II and let’s say that was fun for once, but more as a history lesson.

Origin is one of my favourite games of all time, especially when played on hard. I just love to get my palms sweaty with this one.

Celceta is also ‘ok’. It’s hard to go back to this after playing the other games.

VII I haven’t finished for that same reason.

VIII is another one of my favourites. It’s an island full of dinosaurs. That’s what got me into the series in the first place. We need more dinosaur island games.

IX was decent fun, but too repetitive for me. I don’t have this problem with Origin, but the environment was too monotonous for me.

X was fine but not very memorable and I really wish they’d make a smaller world with more detail instead of this big world with lazy art direction.

Playing Oath in Felghana now and this seems to be the perfect mix of Origin’s combat and more diverse environments.

@Orpheus79V There might be a Mario Kart 9 in development. I’m not denying that it might be in development.
But it’s too soon to know for sure, and to assume what the character designs or gameplay will be like. It might exist in a completely different universe than the one in this clip. Everything about this was designed as a clip to ‘show off’ the new console.

It’s just like how that wii tech demo wasn’t Twilight Princess.

I just gave up on Fantasian right before the end (the Dimengeon was great at first, but now it's become excruciatingly repetitive and I refuse to grind for 20 more hours)

So now it's Ys: Oath in Felghana for me, which is also grindy but way more diverse.

This is NOT the new Mario Kart. They needed something to show and a quick Mario Kart clip was deemed best because of character recognition and familiarity. They changed the heads so it could easily be read from a distance that this is Mario.

So why on earth would you make a Mario Kart 9 page as if it’s been announced?

@PikaPhantom Still not convinced I’m used to Nintendo explaining things as if we’re kindergarteners, in their presentations. Seems like a weird selling point to hold back.

At least WiiU looked completely different. This will be like a pro model for Playstation.
Parents in stores will be “So this playstation pro thing plays exactly the same games as ps4 and ps5 but better but the switch 2 thing plays switch 1 games but better and also switch 2 only games? But you can also buy most of the games for Switch 1?”
These people do not know how a gamepad works. They don’t read gaming news or watch directs.

It will sell, but not nearly as well. The results will be that there wil barely be any games not made to work on both Switches.
Unless of course they decide to drop support for the Switch and close the stores next year, because poor Nintendo can’t possibly pay their little servers anymore.

I don't know, this entire thing feels very much like it was made for the sole purpose of having something to show.
They of course chose Mario, because they have all their numbers about character recognition and the Mario movie. Then they made Mario really legible by making his head huge, so it could still be visible on an external shot of a small Switch screen.
Donkey is even more exaggerated because he's in the background. The style doesn't fit with the rest, so it's clearly a choice made just for this shot. That's it. No Mario Kart 9.

They needed footage to show on a small screen. There's a good chance they just made the characters bigger for the trailer, to make sure everyone recognised their famous mascotte immediately.
They probably did studies about how big they could make the heads without alienating people.

@Xbox_Dashboard Better get used to it. Reggie kept calling us 'consumers' all the time, and they always talk about which fiscal year they'll announce stuff. They're a business dealing in family friendly fun.
That's why we got Echoes of Wisdom. Because they saw an untapped market. Not because they wanted us to have a new Zelda experience.

Nintendo should really keep in mind that the majority of their customers are parents who buy these for their children, and they will have absolutely no idea why they should buy a Switch 2. They don't watch directs. They only see the thing in stores and think 'We already have one of those'.

That’s a pretty long time to leave people hanging with no reason to buy the Switch 2 whatsoever.

These collections have been my biggest remaster wish come true.

Now about that Xenogears remaster…
