Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Meet The Team

@quinnyboy58 You know this is going to score 10/10, right? No matter how irritating the characters are.

I regret not keeping my expectations low for Tears of the Kingdom, after that perfect 10.

But yeah, it would be hard to come up with something more generic than these.

"Hey GPT, can you generate Pixar style character designs for each sci-fi archetype?"

Re: More Legacy Characters Will Appear In Resident Evil Requiem, Producer Confirms

PinderSchloss

I'm a new RE fan and the returning characters often feel more like fan service. Not as if they absolutely need to be there.
So I could really do without.

These characters also come from another era. When people had an entirely different idea of what was cool. It clashes a bit when you bring them into the new games.
The tone is now much too subtle for those edgy 90's puppets.

But that's also why I don't like Kindgom Hearts and FF7R. Most people don't seem to worry about tone if they can get easter eggs out of it.

Re: Official Zelda Movie Photos Give Us Our Best Look Yet At Link And Zelda

PinderSchloss

@stuie1234 I knew this was going to happen: everyone getting excited about the first photos, but they only prove that animation would have worked much better.

Just look at the leather strap on Zelda's shoulder. It looks brand new and has no wear and tear. Even a medieval princess has at least some scratches on her leather straps. The same seems to apply to the Hylian crests on the horses. It all looks too clean and fabricated!

This does not bode well for the rest of the art direction.

Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of Link And Zelda's Live-Action Looks?

PinderSchloss

Zelda looks great (this was never going to be an issue) but Link looks like he got those highlights for 10$, half an hour before taking this picture.
He might have more charisma when we see him move, but this photo isn't screaming 'leading man' to me.

But this isn't the actor's fault. This is why it always had to be animation.
I thought they were going for Avatar-like motion capture that practically made it 3D animation? What happened to that??

Re: Best Zelda Games Of All Time

Skyward Sword had bad controls and was too linear, but it's one of the few games where the lore felt like more than an afterthought.
And it did have some amazing dungeons and the best score.

Re: Resident Evil 0 Remake Rumours Make The Rounds Again

@Retrograde As a new RE fan, I'm really happy with these remakes. The original ones have tons of atmosphere but are very difficult to get back into if you didn't learn the mechanics as they came out.
Now I get to experience the entire series with some basic QOL. I still struggled with 2 but it didn't make me restart the game.
