Re: Talking Point: After A September No-Show, Will There Be An October Nintendo Direct?

It would be weird to have a direct without a console announcement at this point.
Nobody can pretend like it doesn’t exist anymore.

As for Switch games, the only thing I want is a Xenoblade X remaster that fixes some of its issues. I really, really want to play that game without a corny rapper in every battle. Or that woman in the home base who sounds like she’s had too much caffeine and has to use the restroom.

@the_beaver You’re right that at least it’s not a 10 like TotK. I didn’t need to play the game to understand that they took a regular Zelda game but every time you’d otherwise press a button to swing your sword, the flow has to be interrupted. I understand that it’s good, but I don’t understand all this blind adoration every time a 1st party Nintendo game comes out. As if everything they touch is somehow perfect, when it clearly isn’t.

So remind me again how this game deserved a 9/10 with frame rate issues and THIS travesty??
This is the first thing I was afraid of when I heard about the concept and it’s really inexcusable for me. I watched a friend play 15 minutes and it was already driving me crazy. Not playing 20+ hours of this flow killing mechanic. Where is the fun in this?

How to fix this? Stop making Zelda games revolve around gimmicks!!

Re: Echoes Of Wisdom Originally Starred Link, Until His Sword & Shield "Got In The Way"

It would be great to see Zelda games experiment with branching storylines and multiple endings. Some things could be procedurally generated, according to the specific path you choose to take.
If they’re looking for a new direction after the BotW universe, this might be a way. AI generated, but closely following predetermined (humanly written) plot points and adjusting them to the situation.
Similar to how you could ‘do it your way’ with a handful of special powers in BotW/TotK, stories could adapt to your actions in an organic way.

Also: No Hyrule for a while. I want another island setting. Why haven’t we seen an entire game set on a single huge sky island?

And yes, sci-fi and a speaking Link.
Time to stop using that lazy ‘blank slate’ excuse that has always really been a budget and storage space choice.

Re: 'RPG Maker With' Demo Now Available On Switch eShop

I’d like to see them move on to 3D games. They could still base it on a grid system. It worked fine for the 3D environments in Trials of Mana.
With a choice between turn based, strategic, or action RPG’s. There’s many conventions in those games that are already copy/paste.
The combat of Ys: VIII, Hyrule Warriors, and the Mana games isn’t all that different, with a few tweaks. It should be possible to make a user friendly framework around that as well.

@CriticalGames I’d honestly consider disregarding the first game’s title and renaming this so it seems more than just a gimmick. It looks like a fully fleshed out world and the title doesn’t suggest that.
Can’t you see this as a spin-off? Like a Persona to your Megami Tensei?
The first game isn’t available on Switch, so you don’t get much brand recognition from that group anyway.

Regardless of the name, I’ll be playing this though
