Re: Feature: 10 Years On, Is Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival Really That Bad?

Paulo

If I am not mistaken, Animal Crossing amiibo Festival retailed for 40 or 50 dollars with not one but two amiibo included and and even some amiibo cards. Imagine that. Nowadays just one amiibo cost 30 or 40 dollars, and they cost 15 back then. So this game was basically a 10-20 dollar game. I enjoyed It for what It was. It's easy making fun at Nintendo for selling this game because It was the WiiU era, but DragxDrive and Welcome Tour are much worse and got 8 and 7 from Nintendo Life, respectively, and both should have been free too. Remember Nintendo back in the day released the Mario vs DK amiibo game for free (you could play many levels as long as you had the right amiibo). Nowadays If you could visit Nintendo HQ I am pretty sure you would have to buy a 40 dollar ticket for a 30 minute visit, and using the toilet would require buying a DLC ticket for 20 dollars (I am trying to say nowadays they won't even give you toilet paper for free). That's what Nintendo has become.

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Footage - A Surprisingly Tense Port

Paulo

"After so many years of performance issues on the original Switch, I haven’t quite gotten used to the fact that most games on Switch 2 hit a stable 60fps and that modern third-party blockbusters run on it well".

I am quite certain that most games don't run at 60fps, I am talking about new Switch 2 games. If you count last gen games or Switch 2 Edition, then It's like cheating,.these games shouldn't count.

Re: ICYMI: If You Want To Play Virtual Boy Classics, You'll Need To Buy One Of Nintendo's Accessories

Paulo

Ridiculous. More expensive cardboard. The replica is also too expensive. Both are too expensive and can only bee used as long as you have an active subscription. As a VB fan (I own the original hardware and 8 games), I will only buy the replica if the games can be purchased separately. If the games are locked in an expensive paywall and the acessóries are worhless wothout It, a big no from me and another huge misstep from Nintendo.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time

Paulo

@BTB20 with or wothout Rhthym Haven, It was a poor Direct. The games I am looking forward to the most on Switch 1 are Metroid and RH, that's why I would like a date. Nothing against Yoshi, Mario Tennis and Pokémon, but seems like Nintendo is pretty much repeating all Switch 1 games on Switch 2. All for a much higher price. Remember when we got Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy for 60? Now they want 40 a piece or 70 the bundle (SMG2 was on WiiU Virtual Console for the promotional price of 10 then rose to 20). And as a Switch 2 no-owner, no big titles or system sellers were announced. For Nintendo's most expensive console ever, I expected much, much more.

Re: Mini Review: The House Of The Dead 2: Remake (Switch) - Erratic Controls Chomp At Another Classic

Paulo

I don't agree It's sad to say the Wii version is better. This Switch version has better graphics and that's It. But shiny graphics don't automatically make games better. The Wii on the other hand has a controller made for motion gaming and many on-rail shooters, and even though not as precise as a light gun, It's the closest you will get to that experience on modern TV. I recommend, besides House of the Dead 2 & 3, House or the Dead Overkill, Ghost Squad, Gunblade NY & LA Machine Guns Link's. Crossbow Training, Eco Shooters Plant 530, Dead Space Extraction, Resident Evil Umbrela Chronicles/Darkside Chrinocles, Target Terror and many others.

Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of June 2025

Paulo

@Markatron84 outside of the creative Wonder powers (and the singing piranha platns), Super Mario Bros Wonder is not that great a platformer as many prodecessors. I think 3 is the best one, other people will say It's World. The New séries has a bad reputation, but keep in mind: the first two games are Very good. Nintendo's mistake was releasing the unmpressive and weakest of all (2 the 3DS game) so close to U, which is a much better game (better than Wonder even) and would have been so much more fondly remembered had ALL the game been made in the starry night graphics, which I am sure was the starting point for Wonder

Re: Switch 2 Has Sold "More Than 6 Million" Units, And Almost As Many Copies Of Mario Kart World

Paulo

@Tayrailbridge seems like there was a 90% drop in Sales in July. Those numbers seem good but actually Nintendo stockpiled consoles for the release, being the scalpers themselves by overpricing everything. The most ridiculous thing I ever saw was those sold-out posters printed by Nintendo themselves. Now there are reports that are plenty of stock available everywhere. If yesterday's Direct is an indication, third party support Will be weak and all on game Key cards.

Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time

Paulo

@Rentaro G&W are generally very good. Growing up I only had Oil Panic (in my region G&W was difficult to get and the Casio minigames were more widely available) and I knew people who had Mario Bros, DK Jr, Mario's Cement Factory and Fish. I honestly played the orange DK when I was probably 5 (in 85) because a japanese had It in a plane I was on (no kidding). Then I only played It again in G&W Gallery 4 (I skipped 2) and the DS version is the best one. I unlocked and played DK 3 in G&W Gallery 3. And the color games I only played the unlockable one in G&W Gallery 4. So yes, the G&W in general are awesome, and the DK ones are some of the best (I also love Parachute and Climber). Nintendo releasing another G&W with a lot of games would be cool or adding them to NSO. Right now the easiest way to play them is G&W Gallery on GBA, which has 20 games if you can unlock them (one third of the 60 total).

Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time

Tropical Freezer is a perfect game. Only hype for Bananza and nostalgia for DKC2 is leaving It out of number 1. By the way, Jungle Beat and DKC3 are too low and both are better than DKC 94, DKC 1, DKC 2 and maybe even DKC Returns. And Bananza is too recent to bê number 1.

Re: Miyamoto Views Games As 'Products', Not 'Works Of Art', Says Ex-Nintendo Dev

Paulo

He is right. Games are supposed to be fun for the costumers, and not an end which is supposed to envolve creativity, expression of ideias, feelings, beliefs or emotions through forms of manifestation such as painting, literature, music, dance etc. I think It's válid to say that games need artists to be created, but the sum of its parts, while trying to evoke feelings in the costumers, is not art itself, but closer to craftmanship. And the end result is play not the expression of the maker or irs culture. Artists can create toys but toys are not art. And videogames are modern toys. Movies are considered art because they combine visual and sound elements to transmit messages and provoke feelings, like It was a painting in motion. But It's supposed to be enjoyed the way It is, not to be played. And the art is cinema making. Posters, characters, music for games and music are not art, but merchandise and paraphernalia.

Re: Mario Kart Tour Grants Access To A Track Unplayable Anywhere Else

Paulo

@chriswashere313 no, they are quite different. Piranha Plant Slide is basically an underground 1-2 like track. Piranha Plant Pipeline on the other hand is a almost all tubes and has branching paths. Considering the booster pass was basically Mario Kart Tour Switch Edition, It's too bad this track didn't make the cut.

Re: Feature: Every Switch 2 Launch Game, Ranked

Paulo

As amazing as Breath of the Wild os, It's sad to see this 2017 WiiU game being considered the best Switch 2 game in 2025 (It's almost like the NES Super Mario Bros released on Virtual Console on Wii on December 25, 2006 was considered the best Wii game in 2006. Imagine that!) Also, Nintendo should host a masterclass on how to screw up Mario Kart.

Re: Drag X Drive Switch 2 eShop Price Revealed

Paulo

Coming from 2025 Nintendo, low price = low content. Seems like there is no local multiplayer and 1 player offline probably just to play against bots and maybe, If you are luck, one small championship. I see this as the successor of the Metroid Blast Ball, which was free on the 3DS, and a more complete version was included in Federation Force. So $20 for Drag X Drive is a drag and $20 too expensive
