All Nintendo controllers are flawless and perfect, except for 2: joycon because of drift and N64 because the control stick can get quite loose. So I believe these 2 should have ranked lower.
@Uncle_Franklin right you are. But read the review, there are no complaints.
"So, what's our niggling criticism then? Well, we're not totally sold on how the battle maps are presented in a sort of playbox/board game style. Yes, we're being incredibly nit-picky, but there it is. You get used to it as you play, and we've all but forgotten it now, but early on it feels like a design decision that pulls you out of the action a little. We get that it's perhaps a decision made to further remove the warfare at hand from anything resembling real-world events, but we definitely prefer the original style of zoomed-in combat arena".
I think they might be planning 3 Mario movies before anything else. Donkey Kong and Luigi's Mansion are obvious candidates. Kid Icarus would be awesome since we've seen in Uprising that Pit, Palutena, Medusa, Hades and other characters love to talk. But I voted Star Fox, that would be a dream come true to me.
@JohnnyMind yep, the soundtrack is amazing, been listening non stop on YouTube since it became available on digital platforms, and just yesterday pre-ordered the CD on Iam8bit.
I have 2 Wii games and Ghosts for WiiU and Ghosts is my favorite, it's true the better frame rate improved the pointer controls. Loved the campaign and player a little bit of online multiplayer too.
Looking forward to the movie, but I have 2 minor complaints: 1. Since the 1983 pre-Mushroom Kingdom game is called Mario Bros, I think Mario & Luigi's plumbing company should have been called Mario Bros (not SUPER Mario Bros, even the 1993 movie got it right by calling them Super at the end) 2. A problem arose since the 4 player NSMB games, where the Toads are playable: if everybody in the Mushroom Kingdom (Peach and the Toads) has amazing jumping abilities (see Peach in the vídeo) and can aquire super powers (mushrooms, fire flowers and all the special suits), then what is so Super about the Mario Bros? Don't get me wrong, these points don't interfere with the gameplay, just the legend. Super Mario Bros is my favorite series ever and I have tickets bought for the premiere tomorrow night and I will watch the movie again next week with my kids. Just food for thought.
@sketchturner what I understood is that Ultrahand is used to glue things (maybe not itens) together without changing sizes. Fuse, on the other hand, fuses two itens together to create a third item, and the sizes may change.
Completely agree Nintendo needs to release 1080 and "'precision arcade racers' — the Wave Races, the Excitebikes/Trucks, and F-Zeros of the world". I just wouldn't call Excite Truck a precision racer, but still a lot of fun. I would also add Pilotwings to the list. Too bad Nintendo only seems interested in Mario Kart. Some variety is always welcome! And with Switch selling so well they should take more risks producing some of these games that they think underperformed in the past.
@Deemo37 you are right, I am looking up and there were 7 games in total: Liberation Maiden, Aero Porter, Crimson Shroud, Weapon Shop de Omasse, and the last 3 were Attack of the Friday Monsters, Bugs vs Tanks and The Starship Damrey.
@Magician I give Switch 2 or 3 more years. No way Nintendo would release that many titles since Splatoon 3 in the platform's last year. And since Switch is super popular, Nintendo won't be able to get away porting games from the previous generation. So they need time to make new games.
@Altaria_97 good point but considering we are getting brand new Fire Emblem, Zelda and Pikmin this year, preceded by an all new Splatoon last year, Nintendo Switch 2 is probably still 2 or 3 years off. No way Nintendo would release this many titles in Switch's last year. But the question remains on when Mario is launching. It would make sense to release It close to the movie, but the date was alotted to Advance Wars and Zelda. On the second semester perhaps? By the way, Switch is so successful that I wish Nintendo invested in riskier dormant franchises to let them shine: Wave Race, 1080, Excite Truck, Pilotwings, F-Zero, Star Fox.
All of them honestly. I didn't vote for Switch because it has too many WiiU ports. GBA is probably my favorite system but no new Super Mario game = no vote. I could list all reasons for not voting. And voted for WiiU.
I'm really a fan of de Blob, I have both games on Wii and Switch and also 2 on DS. Too bad de Blob 1 never came to DS, and I thought back in 2018 and 2019 that a rerelease of 1 and 2 meant de Blob 3 was coming.
"In a time before Splatoon...". Funny you mention that, because when I saw ink at that Nintendo Direct back in 2014 or 2015, the first thing I thought was that de Blob 3 was coming, until a squid came out of the ink.
My favorites are G&W 2021, GBA SP and N2DS XL, of which I only have the G&W 2021, which should have included the G&W 1989 game as a no-brainer and it had been emulated before for G&W Gallery 4 for the GBA. Ironic that the GBA SP can play the original G&W Zelda from 1989 and the 2021 G&W can't.
Very glad Shin'en is back. It's been a long time since The Touryst in november 2019. Looks super fun and well designed, as usual for Shin'en. Really looking forward to playing. Still wish we got Nano Assault Neo for Switch...
The lack of modes, characters, stadiums that are not only facelifts make this game the worst in the series unfortunately. Getting "free updates" that should had been there from the start doesn't help either. And rarely I can find a match online. Charged is still king for me. Which is too bad because I waited 15 years for a follow-up.
@Truegamer79 as much as 93 SMB is a disaster, it does nail the Mario mythology of a plumber leaving Brooklyn and becoming a hero in another world very well. The mushroom kingdom should had been despicted in a completely different way though.
Agree here. I'm a Tour player and think London is the worst real-location based track of the game. On the other hand, everything about Merry Mountain is a delight.
The man. The legend. Mario, Link, Fox, Falco, Olimar and many others in person. Can't express enough how I love his brainchilds. And by all accounts a wonderful person as well. Happy birthday and live happily and healthily for many years to come.
Mario Strikers Charged is one of my favorite Wii title, but Battle League is so barebones it's disappointing. So few characters, so few game modes, so few everything.
How I wish Arthur was at Smash Bros Ultimate. Would cheer for that every time a Smash Direc was announced. With that many weapons, It would be easy to build a move set. And I always imagined he would lose his armor at 100%
Love Wario. My favorite games are Wario Land VB, Wario Land 2, Wario Land 4, Wario Land Shake It, WarioWare and WarioWare Twisted. Of all these, the best one is probably Wario Land Shake It. Really wish que got a sequel on Switch.
I own all 4 and my favorite is Xeodridter so that means I can get RBR for free, but not excited all, it's looking like a freeware version of the excellent Runbow.
There are just too many excellent songs to list, but 2 came to my mind instantly: Gusty Garden from Super Mario Galaxy and Windmill Hills from DKC Tropical Freeze.

Re: Review: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp - A Pair Of Strategy Gems Delightfully Reimagined
Should have been a 10/10.
"We weren't keen on the battle maps presented as board games"
On the other hand, would have been worse If they had aimed for realistic graphics.

Assault is not bad, but is overall short. It would have been a much better game If, after completing the story, there was a arwing-only Falco mode
Re: Best Star Fox Games Of All Time
Star Fox Zero is too low. Top 3 are Star Fox, 64/3D and Zero.
