Well, I guess he chose Sora for last because it's also his company's name and to match the announcement of the games. Nice for the fans, as he has been speculated to be in the roster for years.
What's next for Smash Bros? Of course, Nintendo will want it in the next system in the future. Will Sakurai make a new one or will Ultimate be ported with some adjustments?
@nessisonett too many excellent microgames. I honestly prefer Twisted due to its wackyness, fun factor and body of work, surpassing the original. Even Nintendo of America knew Twisted was better than Touched (which is still amazing) because they held on to it to release after the DS entry, since the DS was new to the market.
@JHDK they are good. I am not so sure how much Jools has to do with Moon and Dementium, because when Renegade Kid split, it was the now late Gregg Hargrove who kept the 3D games, while Jools kept the 2D games such as Mutant Mudds.
@JHDK seems like Jools never finishes the game he promises while making smaller games in between. Treasurenauts has never been cancelled, is said to be alive, but hasn't appeared in some 7 years. Hatch Tales is out on the 3DS, but seems they can't complete the HD version. Meanwhile they release lower budget and lower quality titles such as Soccer Blast, Totes, Petadachi and Pictooi (has anybody asked for those?). My favorites Jools game is Xeodrifter and honestly I feel like his output was better in the Renegade Kid days.
I am one of the backers. Love me some GBA (especially Micro). And Goodboy Galaxy was handled well by releasing a demo beforehand. Here's hoping for more GBA projects in the future.
Since Martinet is the voice of Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi and the babies in the games, my guess is he will voice Wario, who will have a minor role in the story.
"The same insider is far less optimistic about Game Boy Advance titles arriving on the paid online service in the near future - noting how several companies are currently working on re-releases, including Nintendo, who has the Advance Wars remaster coming out this December". If they release GB/GBC titles, does this mean Link's Awakening is out of the question?
I would give my life for a spotless and sealed copy of Super Mario Bros, and for that I mean 100 coins. Honestly I am very happy with my complete in box copy I bought for some 40 dollars over 5 years ago, and it has the same displaying purpose as a sealed copy.
I still can't understand how this gem never got a remaster or sequel on DS or 3DS. The dual screen setup seems perfect for this game, with the top screen always the ground, and the lower screen always the underground.
Nintendo should take the modern Game & Watch one step further. Make the Virtual Console Boy with the ability of dowloading NES, GB, SNES, N64, GBC, GBA and maybe even NGC games. That would sell like hot cakes!
What I really want is a Switch Micro, like half the size or less of the original Switch.
A new handheld would demand new games and therefore split Nintendo's effort when things are going very well.
What they could and should do is take the Game & Watch concept to the next level. Make the Virtual Console Boy, a one-screen handheld with the ability to download NES, SNES, N64, NGC, GB and GBA games. That would sell more than hot cakes.
'Now, I’m not going to claim Nintendo as some bastion of POC representation and I can’t ignore where it has previously gone wrong. Mr. Game & Watch using a Native American silhouette (before being swiftly removed) in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is perhaps the most recent example".
Though I believe this reaction was an exaggeration, since It was the character from the G&W title Fire Attack.
I still have my launch Switch with no need to upgrade at this time. If I bought a second Switch, It would be a Lite. My only gripe is that it doesn't seem to be small enough to be called a handheld. Here's hoping there's a Switch Micro in the future.
@BanjoPickles 90s Arcade Racer has never been officially cancelled. It's on Nicalis' website as coming soon, whatever that means (https://www.nicalis.com/games/90ssupergp)
@ModdedInkling I am pretty sure the employee count does include subsidiaries like Retro Studios and Next Level Games, since Vancouver (Canadá) and Austin (TX, USA) are marked on the map.
@River3636 the timeline is as follows, not counting the Prime games: 1. Metroid (NES) / Zero Mission (GBA) 2. Metroid 2 Return of Samus (GB) / Samus Returns (3DS) 3. Super Metroid (SNES) presented as Metroid 3 4. Metroid Other M (Wii) 5. Metroid Fusion (GBA) presented as Metroid 4 6. Metroid Dread (Switch) presented as Metroid 5
@jingounchained the features of the joycons will probably not be heavily used because of the Switch Lite. I think that is the same reason we are getting a new Mario Party (Nintendo even showed a Lite in the trailer explicitly saying all minigames can be played with button controls). I honestly think this lack of innovative controls hurt the games after all.
I wanted a racing game (ExciteTruck, F-Zero, Wave Race or 1080) and got Cruis'n. I wanted Wario Land and got WarioWare. I wanted 2D Metroid and got one. I wanted Star Fox and didn't get It. I wanted Fatal Frame. I wanted the return of Advance Wars. Not everything was as I wanted, but I must appreciate what was shown. I rate the E3 Direct "Fantastic"
