This is amazing! I'm 150+ runs in, unveiled all the oath statues, and running out of tasks/unlocks. But I keep playing anyway because it's just the funnest frickin game! Happy to have new things to shoot for.
Hades 2 is up there for me with TotK and Persona 5 as one of the very best games of the modern era. 10/10 for sure.
"Added Cauldron incantation lets you return to an earlier point in the story in case you wish to re-experience key events, such as the True Ending." — hell yeah!
"Any excess Kudos you have already spent will be refunded." — hell yeah x2!
Hmm, this might actually be a reason to go physical? I usually prefer digital for convenience, less stuff in the house, and from a general dislike of polluting the world with ever more plastic. But if this is the one ginormous game with a full physical release...
I'm counting the days for this one. I loved the cutscene-driven story in Age of Calamity. Very much looking forward to the premium Switch 2 Zelda visuals.
In the Year of the Ninja no less. RIP to the man who brought the real ninja spirit to these shores.
Ninja Gaiden Black is one of the best games of all time and revived one of my favorite franchises. Here's to hoping that NG4 is a fitting tribute to his earlier work.
Sometimes NSO, but all the time on my favorite retro handheld...
TrimUI Brick! (Running NextUI). I love this thing and play it daily. I played it for hours while waiting in line to buy the Switch 2 on release day. I take it in my pocket on flights or just going to the doctor's office. I play it one handed while eating breakfast lol.
And sorry, not sorry—emulation is the way to play NES and other retro games. It opens up the world of fan hacks, fan translations of Famicom exclusives, etc. But for emulation, I would not be a gamer today. I spend $1-2k on Nintendo games, subscriptions, hardware, & peripherals annually, and I 100% would not be doing that if I hadn't rediscovered my love for video games via emulation.
I picked up Shujinkou! I'm playing slowly to get the most of the language learning part, but I'm really impressed by the game too. The turn based combat is complex and challenging, the panicked running from OP demons is thrilling, and the characterizations/writing are some of the best in genre. FYI, the NL review did this game dirty.
Also, Hades 2 continues. As does my playthrough of all Shinobi games—replaying Shinobi III right now, after just having beat it. It's really an excellent game.
Metroid is my favorite franchise, so that's the day 1 purchase there.
But ACS looks awesome! I've never played an Assassins Creed game before, but I'm all for a Sengoku-era open world action RPG. That's one of my favorite periods of history, and I've visited the bulk of the more important Sengoku historical sites in person.
I was left with a bunch of questions after reading this review, which I'm guessing was from Switch 1 gameplay? Y'all really should specify if you're reviewing on old hardware. And what is meant by unintuitive inputs? The review made me think inputs might be optimized for mouse and keyboard? And if so, I would've liked to hear whether there are Switch 2 mouse controls.
Anyway, touchscreen kanji writing practice (neither kanji nor touchscreen were mentioned in the review...) makes this an immediate must buy for me! Although I can't put down Hades 2 just yet 😄
Also, to those complaining that you won't own the games via NSO, um... just download them! I already "own" every VB game digitally and "unofficially." I just can't play them.
I'm actually really stoked for this! I've always wanted to experience the VB-it's such an eccentric, what-were-they-thinking moment in games history. I only ever got to play it for a couple minutes on the demo stand at Best Buy back in the day.
It has been prohibitively expensive to get the requisite hardware until now, so $25 is nothing. Especially if you already subscribe to Expansion Pass, which most Nintendo fans with a strong interest in classic gaming probably already do.
Fiiiiiiiinally. I've actually never played these. But I won't buy at $70. If Nintendo doesn't bring prices back down to earth, I'll be prioritizing 3rd party games.
I definitely am a museum gamer, so I have been wanting something like this for a long time. Price will matter, though. Is the cardboard thingy featured a cheap alternative to the stand?
A number of these look interesting. Curious to see reviews of HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate and Talaka. I'm a big fan of Afro-Brazilian music, martial arts, and film, so it's cool to see it's getting some video-game love. Katanaut looks quite good too, although that genre is getting crowded 😅
I'm actually playing through the old Shinobi games to prep for the new one (Year of the Ninja ftw). The original arcade game actually holds up except for the difficulty, which is ridiculous. I only made it through with wanton save state abuse, and even then only just!

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment (Switch 2) - A Stunning Slice Of Musou, Worthy Of The Zelda Canon
I'm just counting down the days honestly. My partner will be out of town on business... I detect a Zelda binge coming!
Also, just a suggestion to those who find the genre too mindless—hard mode on HW: AoC & FE: 3 Hopes did require skill and learning.
Re: Resident Evil Pro Controller Is Available To Pre-Order, But Its Price Is Terrifying
This headline applies to the standard $90 Pro Controller. It looks nice, but that's like 50%+ what I'm willing to spend on a controller :/
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For November & December 2025
Counting down the days to Thursday for Age of Imprisonment!
Re: Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against 'Pirate' Streamer Who Taunted Company Online
Less $$ than I would've expected!.
That's like the cost of a run-of-the-mill diagnostic medical procedure in the U.S.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Is Confident Mario Will Be Around For "A Long Time To Come"
As long as humanity doesn't die out? Isn't the Super Mario theme the most recognized song in the world after the Birthday Song?

Looking forward to getting NG4 on Switch 2. I'm confident it's just a matter of time. Year of the Ninja FTW!
Re: Review: Shujinkou (Switch) - Words Whup Sticks & Stones In This Innovative Dungeon Crawler
@jesse_dylan I'm only 5-6 hours in, but I can confirm that it also teaches grammar, vocabulary, and kanji.
Re: Nintendo Direct For Kirby Air Riders Announced For Thursday, 23rd October
I'll be tuning in with long-shot hopes for some hidden Metroid Prime or Age of Imprisonment content
Re: Anniversary: SNES Action RPG 'Terranigma' Is 30 Years Old Today, And It's Still A 10/10 In Our Book
A great game I only know through emulation, since it never came out here.
I see there's an interesting new fan hack out this year, Terranigma Redux - might be time to take a fresh look at this game!

Re: Community: 32 Switch Games We Missed, As Recommended By You
A big hearty recommendation for Call of the Sea from me (although I played it on PC). Verdant, vibrant Polynesian visuals in a Lovecraft adaptation.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th October)
Hades 2 rules my world right now. All hail Melinoë!
And thanks for the Blippo+ mention—that's looks really interesting.

Yes, thank you to the dev for clearing things up!

Re: Meet The Sages (And Zelda's Maid) In Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment
Ardi's lightning kick looks cool!
I'm very hyped for this game. I'm not a huge fan of warriors-style gameplay, but the story cutscenes in Age of Calamity were just fantastic.
I'm also excited to see what this game does with the new hardware!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th October)
Mad respect to the 2 of you playing N64 Wave Race!
(I'm all over Hades 2 this weekend, though.)
Re: WWE 2K25 'John Cena Farewell Tour' DLC Out This Month
The IRL farewell tour has been one of the worst angles in wrestling of the past 4 years, so I'll gladly skip.

It's usually a good sign when devs talk about the hardware with excitement. Can't wait to play this one!

Nice to see a Metroid-dominant list! Samus usually takes a backseat to Mario and Link in these lists.
Re: Are You "Unsure" About Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade For Switch 2? Don't Worry, There'll Be A Demo
Imma buy the $@#& out of this game!
Re: Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance Switch Resolution Update Now Available
Thanks for the update, but that was super vague. Is there a new resolution? What exactly was fixed?
Re: Surprise! A New "Free-To-Start" Fire Emblem Game Is Out On Mobile Devices Today
Stopped reading at "free to start." These mobile games can be very exploitative. It's disappointing to see the Fire Emblem brand involved.
Re: WWE 2K25 Online Shutdown Date Revealed Just Months After Switch 2 Release
I don't care about the online content, really. But I'll be waiting on a sale nonetheless - it's just too expensive.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Been Updated To Version 2.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
$20 is unreasonable and... off-putting.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th September)
I loved Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, so I'm exploring the studio's prior work, Blasphemous (which was on a steep sale). It's great!
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
I want these, but won't pay that.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake For Switch 2 Slips Into 2026, Game-Key Card Confirmed
What's the deal with the "limited early purchase editions"? Anyone know? Are these discounted for pre-order?
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 Bundle Confirmed For Switch, Launching October
Fiiiiiiiinally. I've actually never played these. But I won't buy at $70. If Nintendo doesn't bring prices back down to earth, I'll be prioritizing 3rd party games.
Re: Mario Tennis Fever Hits Switch 2 Next February
Looks fantastic. Very excited to try motion controls and the babies RPG (lol!). Anyone here play the tennis RPG on Turbo Grafx? World Court Tennis?
Re: Hyrule Warriors Age Of Imprisonment Smashes Through Switch 2's Defences This November
One of two must buys for me this year (along with Metroid Prime 4).

Re: Surprise! Donkey Kong Bananza Is Getting DLC, And It's Out Today
At $20 hell no. (On top of base $70...) And I LOVED Bananza.
