Y'all seem to be forgetting that the Switch versions of these games run at 30 fps while every other console runs at 60.

Yeah obviously the resolution is maxed but at half the framerate they could really fix it if they so desired.

At first I was worried about SNK's ownership but they seem to be doing more than ok with COTW and new AOF and Samsho confirmed.

@Haruki_NLI Go ahead, I don't think there needs to be any sort of "justification" for pirating stuff. I personally don't pirate modern games; not because I have anything against it morally, it's just easier to pay for them. Many other people will do anything to save a buck/get better performance.

I will agree that it's sad how the PS5 is already starting to get blurry on games, that's why I've got my 30th edition Pro on the way.

Day 1 on Steam for me, love the HD-2D games.

There will always be people pirating stuff, I know a big reason for many people is how poorly some games run on the Switch, maybe the Switch 2 will help fix that.

@Simone93 It's fun on the first play but it offers practically no challenge/satisfaction in its gameplay going back. It's like a puzzle game more than a platformer, what's the point of solving puzzles you already know the answers to

I got Pikmin 1+2 for $25 at my local Walmart a few months ago and still haven't even booted it up, one day I'll get to it.

Odyssey for $30 is not surprising but man no DLC? It was already one of the weaker 3D Marios to go back to, it could've used some more content.

I'm starting with a 6. It does a lot of things differently, for better or for worse but it's a good time. Lots of stuttering and small frame drops but that's to be expected of the Switch. Music and combat is fun but why oh why did they change Luigi's controls so much.

Metal Slug fans beware! This is a fantastic game that captures the vibes of Metal Slug perfectly, with lots of depth to its combat and a fun artstyle with lots of characters and references from the series. A very fun revival of the series, I've already put in many hours on my Steam Deck oled. The "tactics" part takes a while to get used to but once you figure out upgrades and adrenaline it becomes very satisfying to land multiple sync attacks in a row. The game stays difficult which is perfect as it actually requires you to sit and think about your actions.

On top of that, it's only $25. Really good price for a really good game, was worth the 3+ year wait as a Metal Slug fan.

This has been my most anticipated release (besides Final Fantasy VII Rebirth) for some time now and apparently it's only $25?? Hope the campaign isn't incredibly short, I'm looking forward to taking my time with this.

Here's hoping the inclusion of this means we'll see some RPGs down the line...

I've been so busy that I haven't gotten around to trying it even though I got in, but I can definitely admire what they're going for here. Curious if it will keep its design or if they will create a new IP

Looks good but unfortunately indie fighters seem to struggle these days. The artstyle definitely helps it, I might pick it up on sale.

The biggest feature I actually use with NSO has to be the cloud saves, I take my Oled on the go and leave my base switch in the dock.

But I'm still subbed to the expansion pack just in case I ever want to play an F-Zero game and for the Mario Kart DLC as well, and now I'm part of the playtest in a few days so I've got that perk as well.

Honestly I'm thinking they might let people pick a first party Nintendo game to keep for free if you sub to the expansion pack, with a list of options like Mario U Deluxe, DK Tropical Freeze, Arms, maybe Astral Chain? Some of the earlier games that are still good but have "better" alternatives or sequels at this point.

Just remake Discs of Tron please with multiplayer, one of the most satisfying gameplay loops of the early 80s arcade.

@Kiwi_Unlimited Actually, that's probably going to end up being more difficult for Pokémon to win, Palworld I feel has already established itself as its own unique concept.

I was a big fan of them making GameCube controllers with the original adapter, then relying on a USB adapter to make them work. That way I can use my new controller with my original GameCube.

My bet is that they're adding GameCube/Wii to Switch Online but it's cloud gaming exclusive.

I forgot I had this on preorder, Best Buy randomly gave me a $20 certificate so I figured I might as well.

Now what would be really cool Nintendo is if y'all put the entire series on Switch as a collection.

If it was just as simple as a feature, I don't think it would be up for as long as it is, plus they're calling it a "playtest." The design of the graphic also screams "nso game menu" to me.

This is still proving more and more that "censoring" or changing these games causes more controversy than if they just left them alone. I'm not the kinda guy to run around saying games are "woke" and such, I think that racial undertones should be removed from rereleases. But a suggestive outfit is fine.

Personally I'd rather they leave everything original but I'm still picking it up Day 1 on Steam regardless.

@FrowardCoast440 IIRC Warbirds was originally included on the cart but was removed in a day 0 patch because they lacked a proper licensing, so that led to a lot of people not updating their carts as it was a "physical only" game because of that. Then they later got the rights and added it back in.

I think it's included in the base game timeline but I may be wrong.

A better way to combat reselling would be to just offer them online.

Leave some stuff to be exclusive like t shirts or keychains but gosh darnit I want a giant Wiimote pillow

One of the best parts of this timeline as kinda mentioned here is the fact that the free update games from last year all got timeline entries. Really makes it feel more legitimate instead of just tacked on to the collection.

One could hope for more Lynx/Jaguar games but it looks like the next pack will be focusing on the Intellivision.

@KoopaTheGamer I don't know about you but I think if well over 25 million people buy a game then that game is good, on top of the fact that it's on Game Pass.

Riding monsters you've caught is not a Nintendo thing by any means, and considering that some of these patents were filed after Palworld's release is simply disrespectful.

I hope Nintendo loses this. Palworld is a much better game than any Pokémon game released in recent times and the sales prove it. Hopefully this will encourage Game Freak to make better games, I have high hopes for ZA.

@SillyG Digital Eclipse has said it will be complete on the new cart with no downloads (which is good because this first pack of dlc alone is like 2 gigs).

Shame that the "wider world of Atari" is mostly 2600 and arcade, with no Lynx or Jaguar.

Still, these are great games that are now under the Atari umbrella. Looking forward to my physical release.

@Blue_Rover Each pack is $8 and both of them is $14. If you don't already own the game, the expanded edition is looking to be $40 with both the game and the DLC, while the base game will probably be permanently discounted to $30 (as the physical is already at $30).

I actually find it a little unfortunate that they're dropping a pack earlier than the physical release, now I feel tempted to grab it for the probably $5 it will be even though I have my physical on the way.

Maybe I'll get the DLC on Steam since I already have the base game, I have the base game on Switch as well but then the expanded coming.

Finally. I needed a keyboard with a number pad when they announced their first one. Then they made the number pad but I already got myself a different board.

Now I can have the NES keyboard, finally.

Crazy to me that games like Mortal Kombat X or Bluey or Tales of Symphonia are still in the top 40 and Emio never even broke top 20 (if I'm remembering correctly) and is already out of it. Really enjoyed it but I guess it is rather niche.

@BrazillianCara @IceClimbers that just raises even more questions, because I've been under the impression that the characters, although unique, might just be "inspired" enough for copyright. The gameplay and mechanics are pretty darn different from Pokémon games aside from the fact that you summon your Pals from a sphere (but then I feel like that would be copyright infringement, idk).

This is a very big shame. Palworld is a fantastic game that has only been evolving more and more since its release. I haven't been sucked into a game much like I did with this one since, and definitely not any Pokémon game, that's for sure.

I'm really hoping they win this, Palworld is already such a good game but I've been enjoying the updates and was really hoping to see a "1.0" release.

@DennyCrane They could probably get it to work with joycon motion control.

Would it work well? Absolutely not but it might be playable and wouldn't hurt to be an option.

@DennyCrane I doubt that Nintendo is actually making the Switch compatible with the original snes mouse, probably just they're own branded one or even any mouse. The Wii U had Duck Hunt and the Wiimotes worked with the IR sensor, surely they could figure it out with the joycon.

People clearly forgot how similar the DS and 3DS looked. My brother couldn't get my parents to buy him a 3DS because they were convinced it was just a different design of the DS.

It's a day 1 preorder for me if it has backwards compatibility, 3D Mario, Virtual Console of some sort, and an OLED screen. That's a lot but I think it's reasonable.

Rather unfortunate with the matchmaking issues, I played 3 games of unranked Marvel vs Capcom 1 online at the midnight release on Steam (as the physical switch copies aren't out yet), then nothing for an hour. Even went into ranked MVC2 hoping it would work with more people playing that but no dice. Haven't had the time to try again since.

I'm personally a big MVC1 guy. Has the best presentation/gameplay imo even if the roster is a bit small

Whenever I finally become interested in picking these games up they always finish the updates lol
