I snagged a physical copy for $10 two years ago and have been holding onto it in anticipation of it looking better on Switch 2... needless to say I was disappointed when it ended up looking worse.
Completely new to Air Ride, and I'm liking it a lot more than I thought I would. The gameplay is fun, although I wish there were a few more tracks.
The one thing really holding it back for me is that it just needs one more mode. We've got races, races again, city trial, and story mode. It needs like a battle tournament mode. I know you can do stadium event minigames without city trial or whatnot but a smaller, more concise Mario Kart-esque battle arena would be fun.
I don't think it's better than MK World, and I've yet to try online, just local multiplayer, so we'll see. Would've loved a playable Epic Yarn character or even just a reference of some kind.
I haven't picked this one up yet but I plan to, as I already have all the other 3D Namco titles. Aqua Jet's been my favorite so far, currently holding onto #1 on the leaderboard for expert difficulty.
@Moroboshi876 on their socials they said that they are planning a third complete physical edition but "not yet," implying more dlc is on the way. I've been buying the dlc on steam (thanks to the bundle discounts) and on Switch I'm picking up each physical version.
@BaldB3lper78 Sure it does, but for the past few years there have been so many games released on PS5/PS4 and Xbox that would've absolutely have come to Switch if the system was capable. I expected the floodgates to open and we really haven't had a ton of 2021-2024 ports yet.
Reload is personally the weakest entry of the big three Personas for me, but it's still a 9/10 game. Definitely worth playing if you've played any of the others.
Best Dragon Ball game and dare I say one of if not the best fighting games of all time. Hoping he's the first character in FighterZ Pass 4 with Gohan Beast and SSJ3 Vegeta
This is a 10/10 game for me, and Rebirth is an 11/10. $40 for the full game, DLC plus the original FF7 is a heck of a deal, if I didn't already have it on the go via my Steam Deck oled. Great game!
@Vyacheslav333 Man when's the last time you've played real kusoge, like Sailor Moon snes? Cotw has fantastic gameplay, mechanics and artstyle, just a small roster.
@Vyacheslav333 I think you're a little harsh on Cotw, the dlc is free, the guest characters are more "bonus" if anything, and the devs have already stated their intentions to bring every fatal fury character back into the roster over time.
I like how, since it was announced in that Nintendo Today app, we don't know how long it is yet lol.
Honestly I don't know what to expect. Hoping for some new Mario news of some type for the anniversary, I just beat Galaxy 2 on my steam deck oled and it would be a joy to run through that game again in 4k on Switch 2.
My #1 most played Switch 2 title right now (besides the big Nintendo Mario Kart and DK) is Aqua Jet. Really fun game with some cool speed tech; I'm at #1 in the leaderboards with over 10 hours so far, it's been surprisingly fun.
@Pillowpants If you think about it, these guys aren't making Switch clones, all the Switch clones (including the Switch itself) are just Neo Geo X clones
Maybe some of these devs can actually start putting some games on it, I've been playing my Steam Deck Oled probably 90% of the time still just because there's next-to-nothing from third parties on the Switch 2 yet.
I mean, by the sales alone Nintendo clearly doesn't need them but it would be nice to see.
@HalfAWorldAway The Switch 2 versions add VRR, Time Attack mode, Online multiplayer (when applicable, so far none of the three have it), rewind, quick start, and 5 save slots instead of 1 quick save. Worth the extra 2 bucks imo
So far I've picked up all these Arcade Archives 2 versions, $17 is a lot, sure, but these games are much more difficult to emulate properly, plus the extra modes are nice. I feel better paying $17 for this than $8 for Pac-Man.
Aqua Jet is actually my favorite of the three so far, it's only got the two tracks and mirrored versions, but the controls feel so good even on an analog stick and the graphics are quite pretty. Hoping they skip Ridge Racer 2 and go straight to Rave Racer or Time Crisis.
I honestly don't want nor do I expect new stuff, I want some games that can actually show off what the Switch 2 can do. I'm still picking up third party games exclusively on my Steam Deck Oled because they still run better there than the Switch 1 versions on Switch 2.
Hopefully we'll see a sizzle reel or something full of Switch 1 games that are getting Switch 2 upgrades.
I've already gone back to my Steam Deck OLED, there's not enough exclusive titles to keep me on it yet, and pretty much every game available both on Switch 2 and Steam looks better, runs better, and is cheaper on my OLED Deck.
When Metroid Prime 4 and DK come out that may change but there's really only a single game I boot up the console for rn.
Well, there goes all hope of a traditional June direct...
Surely this is going to be huge though. We still don't know who little Pauline is yet and it feels like we barely know anything about the game besides the fact that you can destroy stuff.
The camera is actually INSANELY fun in splitscreen Mario Kart World. The faces popping up on screen as you pass people reminds me heavily of Mario Kart arcade.
I really don't understand the criticisms of the Free Roam mode that some people have. It's not supposed to be some big collectathon where you've got a map with Skittles all over; all those missions to do.
I always thought the point of free roam was just to drive around and enjoy the landscape. 20 hours in and there are still areas I have not driven around in. We don't need big fancy rewards for getting all the objectives because my goal is not to complete every mission. I'm just freely roaming around.
It's a shame that more Switch 1 games didn't get patches, I've still been playing more and more titles on my Steam Deck Oled since it runs games better 95% of the time.
Would kill for a Nier patch, maybe a 4k Quake patch, doom eternal could probably go up to 120 fps with the proper optimization.
My entry for this list is Overlord Escape From Nazarick. It's a decent little metroidvania spin-off of the anime Overlord, but on Switch it never ran at 60, it always felt like an unlocked framerate that ran between 20 and 40.
I'm very pleased to say that even on my imported copy it runs at a full 60 with no drops.
I prefer the screen of the Switch Oled. Games look more vibrant, and I play a lot of 4:3 games and other older arcade games with lots of blacks so the lcd is jarring. I will stick to picking up new 3rd party titles on my Steam Deck Oled and PS5 Pro for that very reason
Pretty cool, my favorite part of the Splatoon games has always been the campaigns, so a single player experience will be fun for me, still haven't picked up 3 and probably will skip it atp though.

Cool, now I need a vertical one with good artwork.
Re: Review: DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO (Switch 2) - A Brilliant Brawler With A Colossal Roster
There's microtransactions? I could've sworn that the game doesn't have any, just the extra character DLCs
Re: Mini Review: Arcade Archives 2 TOKYO WARS (Switch 2) - Another Polished But Wafer Thin Hamster Port
I haven't picked this one up yet but I plan to, as I already have all the other 3D Namco titles. Aqua Jet's been my favorite so far, currently holding onto #1 on the leaderboard for expert difficulty.
After this they should add Rave Racer.
Re: Mini Review: Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration - The Namco Legendary Pack (Switch) - Another Brilliant Digital Eclipse DLC
@Moroboshi876 yes, but on different platforms, so I don't mind.

Re: Reggie Is "Surprised" We Haven't Seen More Xbox Titles On Switch 2
I'm surprised we haven't seen more third party releases in general, but I guess that's a good thing if devs are working to optimize them.
Persona 3 Reload looks and runs much better on my Steam Deck oled than it does on Switch 2, which is kinda crazy.
Re: "I'm Running On Fumes" - Digital Eclipse Is Scrambling To Address Issues With Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
What a shame, this was DE's opportunity to win back the fgc and they blew it. Should've just delayed it until it was fixed.

I'm waiting for a Layton collection...

I'm more looking forward to next week's big monthly title, last month we got Mach Breakers and I was really hoping for another 3D title.
Re: Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection Details Additional Features In New Trailer
After this it's just Legends and maybe a mini-collection of spinoffs like the psp remakes or the sports games, then that's it.

@PJOReilly In the poll it calls Resurrection a remake in the first option, just thought it was funny.

Not to be that guy but resurrection is a completely new title, not a remake
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Sells 1 Million Copies

Re: Persona 3 Reload Is Making The Jump To Switch 2 This October

Re: Poll: Have You Won Knockout Tour Online In Mario Kart World Yet?
Knockout Tour is easily the best mode. Wish there were more paths, I've probably won on each route twice now.

Favorite mode so far right there with knockout tour. The most fun I've ever had with Mario Kart.

Re: Review: Nintendo Switch 2 Carry Case - The Official Option Is A Solid One
I'd have to say for any of my fellow Americans I personally don't think this case is worth it at the price they're selling it at ($40).
