Re: Zelda Fan Film Kicks Off Fundraising Campaign With First Live-Action Trailer

DripDropCop146

Hmm...I feel bad for saying this, but this just doesn't look right for a live action film. I know fans get upset when something isn't a 1:1 copy, but there's a good reason for this. Not everything that works in one medium translates well into another.

The costumes, the setting, everything looks static and fake. It feels like a cosplay event with a script. It's too clean looking I suppose. Whatever the live action film may be, I hope it's not one with the green hat. I know it's a staple, but I think Link's new outfit suits him better than the old.

I give this teaser a 2/10.

Re: Nintendo Music Adds Another SNES Banger, Here's Every Song Included

DripDropCop146

You know it's strange. I didn't grow up with Nintendo personally. I had other game systems. Yet, I had friends who did. The weird yet pleasant thing is I can remember the distinct music from many of those games of past. They're like a implanted memory that stays even if parts of my memory become hazy.

From SNES till now those sounds have stayed with me. Perhaps that's just magic of these little tunes that have stood the test of time.

Re: Community: What Are Your Favourite Sidequests On Switch?

DripDropCop146

None really, from Xenoblade to Breath of the Wild, I found them boring. I haven't had fun with sidequests in many years...until two great games that is. Sadly, none of them Switch games.

First game is Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Heck, this game made me want to go out and find every insane sidequest it had. Weird, funny, and touching. I never wanted to fully explore a world as much as I did with that game.

I did an entire Kart racing sidequest that ended with a touching story. I went on a hunt for a serial urinator who kept urinating in the river. I escorted a naked man across town. These were my adventures.

I haven't felt that way since...that is till "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle". Now of course it's not as wild as Yakuza, but im enjoying it. While not quite open world, it lets you explore small open maps. I haven't seen any of the films (before my time), but I can tell the devs had fun putting this game together. The sidequests are just as interesting as the main story.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Mario Kart 64

DripDropCop146

@Paulo It's just placeholder name. Not a big deal. This is pretty typical. Alot of games get teased without an offical title, so people just use the numerical naming system until then because it's easy.

It's much simpler to say "Mario Kart 9" than "Untitled Mario Kart for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2".

Re: Talking Point: Did All The Switch 2 Leaks 'Damage' Nintendo Or The Console's Reveal?

DripDropCop146

@Chapapa I can see why Nintendo took a safe bet. Looking back at history, Nintendo's dominance in the market took a hit when N64 was released, Gamecube didn't sell as much as the other consoles, they struck with gold with the Wii, but flopped hard with the Wii U. They took a chance with the Switch and end up paying off in the long run.

Nintendo is wise enough to not try and compete anymore, and has found a market for the time being. People may be a bit down, but Nintendo isn't trying to go for a second "Wii U".

Re: Video: Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered "Meet The Bosses" Trailer Released

DripDropCop146

The series decline era. Sorry, it's not meant to be harsh, it's just these games were the the low point. From lack of innovation to accusations of milking to "Angel of Darkness" being a black spot in otherwise fairly received franchise.

Just a consequence of releasing so many sequels within a short span of years. The entire original series was created within 9 years. That's one Tomb Raider per year. Including the handheld's.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Has Been Nominated For Another Award

DripDropCop146

@nintendophilia I feel bad, I really do. I tried my hardest to get into into it, but it just wasn't for me. I think my main issue is there is so many echoes but not much incentive to use the majority of them. Like a handful is just enough. Another thing is the combat just stopped being entertaining after a bit. Just summoning echoes and standing in a corner becomes a bit of a bore.

I get Nintendo didn't want to Zelda to be play exactly like Link, but she's so passive within her own game that it's not as interesting.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Crash Nitro Kart (GameCube)

DripDropCop146

Off topic, but I think the Crash rebootseries that came out years ago are underrated. Crash of the Titans and Mind over Mutant may have not been the best of games, but the the characters and story was over the top silly fun.

Uka Uka: "I will kill Crash Bandicoot. Kill him......forever."

Re: Sonic's Third Movie Outing Could Be Getting A Speedy Digital Release

DripDropCop146

@VHSGREMLIN I disagree. Videogames movies after never been much of hit with both fans and critics. However, Sonic is one the rare few that has a great reception by fans, and mildly passable one by critics.

Is it perfect? No, but it's one the better adaptions in a long list of failures. You don't have to like it, but atleast there is some passion in there for trying to make an entertaining family franchise vs the long list of films that were cash grabs with no redeeming features other than brand recognition.

The fact these movies made is it as far, shows the people behind it do have some level of care. These films are a success for those who thought the videogame to movie medium was forever doomed for failure.

Sonic, Mario, The last of us (yes I know TV show), are showing there is success to be had in adapting videogames outside of their medium.

People at one point in time thought comics would be rubbish films and yet ironically your meme profile is the biggest comic book movie to ever exist.

Just like the early years of so-so Superhero folks, these are the early years for so-so videogame movies. With time and care they might one day be be the next super billion dollar film verse. Right now they are in it's "sorta getting there" phase.

Re: NieR:Automata Surpasses Another Sales Milestone, Plans For 2025 Teased

DripDropCop146

This game just wasn't for me. I found it meh personally. I remember how I came a across this youtuber who offered an in depth critique of the game and it's themes. It 's was really good how she broke down the game.

It amazed just how fans view the game vs it's creator. It's was sort of a death of the author where fans gave the game a deeper meaning than what the creator actually intended.
