@BlueBCA Ima level with you, I couldn't make heads or tails what the studio was trying to accomplish with it's main character design. It reminded me of those cheap platforming games from the Sega Genesis days.
@roy130390 Thanks. Honestly this genre is new to me so I wanted to start fresh. I have no idea when the vania begins, but I figured it's always best to start from the beginning.
@Bobb It happens. We've had many ports of the original trilogy over the years with Origins being the definitive version, that now I believe Sega should start extending the same courtesy to other games in Sonic's latter history.
@Bobb You are the first person in history to say that. Jokes aside, that's actually fairly normal. Some people don't get into a franchise until much later installments.
Sega Genesis will always be my favorites, but for those who grew up on the advance games it's a bummer they won't get a chance to re-experience it anytime soon. I'm heavily in favor of Sega team porting all their games to modern hardware just for the sake of preservation.
@EarthboundBenjy Personally, I would want a reboot of the Sonic franchise all together that places modern Sonic in an alternate universe.
Sega Superstars despite it's issues, atleast captures the feeling of the whimsical fun atmosphere of old Sonic. I miss that over all the stuff that happened post Adventure.
Frontiers felt like the pinnacle of everything I disliked about the lore that followed modern Sonic. Opting to make a melodramatic story that feels oddly out of place in a Sonic universe.
I just want the fun simple adventures to make a comeback as a staple.
@Krambo42 It's not a bad thing. I'd say from a story perspective it's funny. The big bad who everyone fears is the weakest Parody wise, I'd like to see a game that goes through with such a concept.
@batmanbud2 I'm a level with ya. I never found any of these sidekicks as annoying as others. They were fine to me.
If you really want to know what an annoying sidekick is like, I can share one. Years ago I played a mobile game that actually had a friendly npc remind of you of every sale in the shop every time you did any interaction.
You couldn't play the game for than 2 minutes before the NPC would tell you how much you're missing out by not spending.
@Ruler-Of-All-Evil Well, I was just having fun. People do tend to forget things. I wouldn't go as far as to call them an idiot for it. Or maybe that's just something people say now as a joke.
I don't now. I haven't kept up with trends in years.
@Giancarlothomaz Same here. Especially the ones that truly out there with their ideas. Kinda of weird to think this way, but sometimes I find the development more exciting than the actual product.
Don't know. I guess I just enjoy hearing the creative thoughts of people who put so much into their works.
@Rooty I've been pouring over the article and didn't notice the mistake myself. I feel silly now. Think I will pore me some hot chocolate to cheer up.
Wow, history is something. How cartoons were then vs now. If you were born in the late 70's to 80's, then you are lucky to see just how much of your favorite franchises have evolved through the decades.
@Darkthany How can you say such a thing? Beatles play an important role in our eco system. For instance they promote healthy plant growth and feed off of parasites that effect livestock.
Beatles are wonderful insects that are actually underrated.
@RupeeClock Oh yeah for sure. Very unfortunate circumstances all around that led to a frustrated Sakurai. I avoided the leaks so when time came to play it, it was one heck of an awesome ride.
I can see how he was upset. Without the element of surprise, the experience is diminished just a bit.
I knew someone many moons ago that dissed subspace emissary with "Who plays Smash for the story?" I felt like that was such an uncool thing to say.
Sakurai clearly put alot of thought and effort into that mode because he wanted to reward players with something for being fans of Smash Bros.
Shame we will never get something as fun and cool as Brawl's Adventure mode. Watching these characters from different franchises meet in funny and unexpected ways, while teaming up to save the world was something I will always be fond of.

Going to play every entry.
Re: 'Tales Of The Shire: A Lord Of The Rings Game' Is Getting A 'Hobbit Day' Showcase
@stache13 LoTR was been of the most exploited IP's since it blew up 2001. So it's had at best average games and at worst downright terrible ones.
I can't blame anyone for being cautious.

Re: Video: New Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Japanese Commercials Released
Off topic, but I sure do miss the days when we had zany commercials for games. America and Japan came up with some of the weirdest advertisements.
The Wii was perhaps the most fun ad I ever seen for a console.

@SalvorHardin I'm holding on how for the eventual "Switch 2 Pro Slim." It's so thin and light, it's like holding cardboard.
