The amount of defense Nintendo receives is astounding. They might as well never release a new updated console since fans are happy with the current old hardware for life. I say let Nintendo know no need for a new switch ever. It's all good!
I don't get why people keep hating Ethan. He isn't supposed to be like the previous protagonists. He's an ordinary man caught up in extraordinary circumstances.
He's dull on purpose which is counter to the over the top goofiness of other main characters.
@johnvboy Yeah, I'm sure Pratt was the correct choice because of his award winning voice acting and not because he's a Hollywood B celeb who did a few terrible movies that were box office hits.
They choose Pratt simply because of his star power from starring in huge franchises (none of them good).
@AceMcGyver65 Maintaining childhood innocence is why alot of kids grow up under prepared to deal with difficult situations. While we should let kids be kids, we also shouldn't treat them as if their incapable of understanding anything. Kids are capable of picking up cues and learning to understand things even if for a moment it's beyond their grasp.
@FlyingFoxy Would you prefer a critic lie about his/her opinion and just rate everything high? If you need positive reinforcement there are plenty of youtube critics who people run to as harbingers of truth. They will give you the positive feedback you need while pretending only mainstream critics are bias.
@Dethmunk I can somewhat agree. It's why games built around the flash haven't been made. I think speed is really the issue in a 3d space. It works in 2d because you are only going in four directions.
Sonics greatest ability is also his hindrance. The only thing I can suggest is permanently reduce sonic's speed to where he is just faster than say a race car, but not as fast as the speed of light or whatever.
Either that or just keep each game 2.5d or 2d. There's just really no easy solution around it. Sonic is so fast that's hard to build a game to match the speed his lore suggests.
@Meteoroid Ha, alot of Nintendo first party games get a free pass. Critics are much softer on Nintendo simply because they grew up with their games. Zelda is a good example of getting a few free passes.
Wnd Waker where it feels like half a game is missing and the sailing segments repetitive and boring.
Zelda DS with it's spotty touchscreen controls.
Skyward sword and it's spotty controls (still spotty in the HD version)
Link's awakening remake that is nothing more than a overpriced graphical upgrade with notable fps drops and nothing of value added to justify it's price tag.
BOTW with it's lackluster side content, lack of enemy variety, repetitive shrines, forgettable plot, iffy voice acting, and frame rate drops.
You say every indie game gets 9, well look no further than Zelda where every review on this site has given nearly every entry 9.
@mario-64 "Nintendo doesn't own the rights to Mother. They own the rights to the games, which is different. The only way this could get a DMCA takedown is if they ripped code directly from one of the existing games. Itoi owns the actual rights to the Mother franchise and is the only one with the power to issue a takedown, and it seems unlikely that he would."
@Rosalinho I agree with you. I met some folks in my life who had some of the ideas many people here seem to have only to be on opposite ends once they had their own IP.
@Ulysses Games have a long way to go be taken seriously. Til then Game Awards will be mocked. Doesn't help when gamers argue over silly things on a daily basis. Hard to take game awards seriously when you have people throwing a hissy fit over The last of us 2 winning GOTY.
@DumbElder I'm going to have go with Fulgor_Astral on this. All he/she said was he was terrible. If that's the most slanderous thing in the world, then I'd be a billionaire by now.
His/her comment is nomore worse than the few hypocrites on this board who had a field day attacking Brie Larson rather than simply disagreeing with her comments from two years ago (yeesh). Better yet attacking each other.
Too much irony sometimes when you see one side denounce ad-hominems but turn a blind eye when a fellow ally does it.
@DumbElder You can say that about alot of people who attack/defend rich strangers they've never met before. I'm pretty sure Chris pratt is somewhere sitting in his mansion right now scrolling through the nintendolife comments because he cares that much about our input.

Re: Sonic Team Head: Sonic Frontiers And Breath Of The Wild Are "Not Similar At All"
Sonic and Breath of the wild are similar though. You have a playable character, running around a giant open environment.
I mean there's only like one other game that's had such a concept. Breath of the Wild of course!

Re: Wavetale Is A Visually Stunning Mix Of Zelda And Journey, Out December
Yes, Nintendo was the first company to come up with cel shading and a plot setting that takes place on islands surrounded by waters.
Re: Review: A Plague Tale: Requiem - Cloud Version - Plagued By More Than The Typical Cloud Caveats
Maybe in 2030 when Switch 2 releases, it will be able to run this game on the lowest settings,
Re: Review: Alan Wake Remastered - A Modern Classic Returns With Major Visual Downgrades On Switch
@EliSweetG The reviewer wasn't trying to sound cool. If anything he's parodying the style of Alan Wake. Lighten up.
Re: Voice Of Mario Charles Martinet Thanks Fans For All The "Love And Kindness"
@johnvboy All I said is I don't care for him and think he was poorly chosen. All I said is his movies are mediocre to me.
You have no idea what the word hatred truly means if you keep poorly applying it where there is none. Not everyone likes an actor or their work.
Re: Voice Of Mario Charles Martinet Thanks Fans For All The "Love And Kindness"
@johnvboy Yeah, criticizing equals hate. Don't use words outside of their meaning where it doesn't apply.
I don't care for Chris Pratt and he's more of a movie star than an actual actor. If people love him and his mediocre movies so be it.
However, saying anything negative is far from hating on someone. Don't throw out such extreme words simply because you disagree.

Re: Random: Fans Are Getting Fix-It Felix Vibes From Movie Mario
@mystman12 Oof, my fault. I forgot that movie haha.
Re: Random: Fans Are Getting Fix-It Felix Vibes From Movie Mario
@Ear_wiG Yes, CGi has been looking safe and stale for awhile now.
The only people that tried to do something new were the people behind the Spider-Man animated film back in 2018.
The animation here is nice I'll give it that, but it doesn't look like anything special.
Re: Poll: So, What’s Your Verdict On The Mario Movie Trailer?
@OctoCallie20 Well yeah their films lack a heart and soul, but this might be the one in the box that has one.
Re: Random: Jack Black Says Bowser Has "A Musical Side" In Mario Movie
@Truegamer79 I hate comedic musicals in anything. It would be equally cringe if Bowser starts playing heavy metal singing how evil he is.
