Re: Opinion: At Last, Vanillaware Hit The Big Time With Unicorn Overlord

@Jhena One of the things I always have a hard time with JRPG's is the way they play fast and loose when it comes to the clothing of underage females and their bodies.

The only JRPG I managed to get through and enjoy was the Yakuza series. I guess a series focused on adults rather than teens was bit more relatable to me. Plus not as uncomfortable with the adult female clothing seen throughout

Re: Upcoming Sea Of Stars Free Update Adds Local Co-Op, New Combat, Cinematics And More

DripDropCop146

@solarwolf07 I would say decent? From what I read around the web, the combat can be either be really great or really not. For some the combat lacks depth, for others it's just right.

The story? Eh that's going to be on what you find enjoyable. People think the story is the weakest part and the two main protagonists are uninteresting. On the other hand people seem to think the story is great and the characters are great.

So, my advice? If in doubt wait it out. By on sale if you can. Or take a leap of faith Miles.

Re: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 'Future Saga Chapter 2' DLC Teaser Trailer Released

@SalvorHardin @The-Chosen-one Im getting Sparking Zero for sure. Tenakchi was the game back in the day with DBZ fans. We'd all pick our characters and just go crazy.

I hope it gets the support Xenoverse 2 does. It's by far the largest roster in the entire series, trumping Tenkaichi 3. Over time it will just keep getting bigger.

With the upcoming Daima we might see some new characters too.

@TheSaneInsanity Calling Nintendo fans deranged while coming off as the same is funny.

The lines are hysterical:

"As for who I speak for, that would be the majority - the ones who look at the people cheering this on and laugh and laugh and laugh."

"I only interact when I accidentally read the comments and get triggered"

"Nintendo fans will turn a blind eye toward anything they do out of a depraved love for a company that hates them"

Re: Get A Closer Look At Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake In New Gameplay Trailer

@johnedwin Eh...It's not so black and white.

Like look, im okay to some degree with a creator changing their work as they see fit. However it's just as valid for others to question why and voice their disagreement. However, that's talking about a creator still involved.

It's abit different when the creator is no longer in control of their creation. Then you have to ask many questions as to why changes are needed and what purpose do they serve?

Like, I wouldn't want a piece of media to omit a word or scene due to modern sensibilities. In doing so you are omitting intent by the creator. Sure it may be something bad, but you have to judge a piece of work with the context of it's time.

But back to DQ3 here. It's perfectly valid for people to question the point of these changes. It would be nice if Square sat down and explained it. Sure it might not change much, but atleast an answer is better than no answer.

Does Square owe an explanation? Well no, it's their IP (I assume). But for those who invested in the series for a long time are on some level atleast entitled to understand why these things are needed.

Re: Forget The Console Wars, Miyamoto Says Nintendo Has Always Followed Its Own Path

DripDropCop146

@LuXifer As someone who's traveled the multiverse, I can give atleast one outcome.

Both Sony and Nintendo did indeed release their console. It was called the Nintendo Play. Sega tried to compete but alas due to mishaps their rival console failed to make it to market in time, and was released to lukewarm reviews. The company bowed out.

With Nintendo now being the dominant console again, Microsoft never entered the market and thus Nintendo reigned peacefully for awhile.

With no competition, there was really no need for innovation and thus the market became stagnated. The Nintendo Play stayed for a good 8 years or so.

It's around this time a little know company named Apple saw a spot in the console market and decided to take it. Releasing their first ever console "I-Game". Giving Nintendo the first competition it's had in years.

Nintendo for the first couple of years sees a loss in sales as Apple dominates. During that time, Nintendo now owning all of Sony puts together the next generation console. "Nintendo Nxt" or "Nintendo Next".

Regaining their share of the market, both Apple and Nintendo are still competing to this day. Oh, and Microsoft went bankrupt when after the release of "Windows 9". Lastly, Miyamoto has a handlebar mustache.
