Re: Beautiful Disney-esque Horror 'Bye Sweet Carole' Gets Suitably Spooky Release Date

Disney-esque?? Did the race/gender swap someone??

jk!!

In all seriousness, this looks incredible. I love the hand-drawn style in video games and most of this looks buttery smooth. It looks like a level of scary that I could deal with, so that's a big plus. And a lot of the horror elements look very creative and not simply there for shock value. I think I'm gonna pick it up!

I know I'm kind of in the minority about this, but I care so much about game narratives that this kind of thing actually waters that down for me. I can be a little flexible, but stuff like this totally breaks the universe for me. I'm sure it will all be considered separate and non-canon, but I wish they wouldn't do it at all.

Just my 2 cents and I'm happy for those who are into it.

Re: Opinion: Metroid II Doesn't Care If Samus Lives Or Dies

I really enjoy the reflection on such an amazing game. But the title and supposed thesis of this article is a reach that even Mr Fantastic couldn't snag. I would bet anything it was a technical decision more than a narrative one. If you want to write this article with this premise, maybe, I don't know, wait until you have an interview with the people who made the game and ask them? Instead you're just putting a fan theory, mixed with a very personal feeling, out into the ether as if it is something more. That part of the article says more about the author than the subject. And that's not what the title implies.

Sorry, I was a journalism major, this kind of thing bugs me. Still love the rest of the article that is reflecting on that wonderful game without the click-baity title.

That's really terrible. I will never support companies that show so little care for the quality of their products.

Also, can we stop trying to make Bluesky happen? It's just trading one biased cesspool for a less-popular biased cesspool. When a truly inclusive and moderate competitor to TwiXter emerges, we can all flock there, but forcing Bluesky when so few of us can properly access the site seems kind of obstinate.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Kart World?

I am LOVING MK World! The only thing I don't like is blending the tracks together within a cup. It's kind of clever, but it makes the tracks feel less distinct.

Possible hot take: assuming they will do DLC for the game, I hope they never include mirror mode nor 200CC. I never like either of those. I also hope we never get more than double the current courses. My only issue with MK8D was there were SO many courses I couldn't get good at them all without quitting my job. It was too much. I like the manageable 8 cups and I hope we never get more than 16.
