BotW and TotK are not only two of the best Zelda games ever, but they're two of my favorite games of all time. I recognize things will need to change and evolve going forward, and we might not need any more installments with this particular Zelda/Link universe. But, open-world is absolutely the direction for the franchise.

From the very first game the series has always been trying to achieve an open-world feel. The technology has simply finally allowed for that vision to be realized; which I believe Miyamoto said directly in several interviews before BotW was released.

The Zelda timeline is just a fun little thought experiment. Even when Nintendo "officially" published one, I think it was just to give the fans a bone. Some Zelda games are directly connected, most are not. It's that simple.

definitely not. Nintendo systems are always going to be a little lacking in horsepower — I don't want one byte wasted on storing or running TikTok (for example).

Physical media the only way to "BUY" media. Everything else is just a weird rental. I'll buy physical forever. And when the day comes that physical media is no longer offered, I will gladly, GLADLY sail the high seas (and make patreon donations or something to the devs).

Yes! A million times yes!! The only reason I haven't finished Azran Legacy is because I got tired of playing handheld.

I would definitely like higher quality control, but aside from that, I would look forward to enjoying Pokemon games for the rest of my days.

I had no idea people didn't like her voice work in those games. I think she does an EXCELLENT job as Zelda!! My only problem with her playing the role, as others have stated, is that she's roughly twice the age of zelda — far too old! How does this article ignore that???

Anime or no sale. I can't even fathom what a good live-action Zelda would look like. Let alone one that has been in any way touched by modern Hollywood.

Anything that plays unique physical media has indefinite value. Case in point: I still use my NES once a year, I had to use a VCR a few weeks ago, I need to rip some CDs this weekend, and I'm on the lookout for a miniDV player.

Perhaps it's an age thing, but I see a lot of people who are like 22 and younger that have no concept of future media needs. So, yea, please sell your Switch right away, I'll be happy to have more on the market when/if my current one needs replacing!

I think it's great to see NL suggesting so many non-white people for traditionally white characters. Link and Zelda's fair skin and (often) light hair really don't have anything to do with their characters. It's not like Hyrule is in Europe or North America or northern Asia or Australia or even EARTH for that matter.

I also don't think they should worry about casting someone who looks good with traditional "elf" ears. The pointy ears also have nothing to do with Hylian characters. And it's not like people in real life have ears like that anyway, so they don't need to be in the movie.

They also don't need to be particularly short people. I think it would be great to see Link or Zelda represent taller people as actors of height are usually excluded from elf-like roles. And their stature really has nothing to do with their character.

So, based on these criteria, I think my top choices for Link and Zelda would be...hmmm... I guess if I really thought about it... Shaquille O'Neal and Leslie Jones.

ummm, please do not sully the names of Stardew Valley nor Studio Ghibli by likening them to this.

The animated shorts over the last, what, 5 years(?) have been the real heart of the Pokemon franchise outside of the games themselves. Really love them.

ugh. no. the original is Peach. the tweak is "movie Peach." I liked that movie, but that version of Peach was the worst part. oh well, I was already 50/50 on this game. if they lean too much into the movie version it might slide me off.

Finally. Now the game is flawless.

Why would these developers intentionally put Kap front and center (let alone in the game) if they wanted the audience to focus on-topic about the gameplay?? Oh right, they didn't, just like Kap, they wanted cheap publicity and clickbait.

I would never buy a digital-only system. If a company doesn't want to sell me their games (ie, only wants to "rent" them to me), I'm more than happy to never buy their games.

But if they sell me the games physically, I will always buy them. Simple as that. Your move, game industry.

Are all 3 games on the PS4 disc? Or do 2 and 3 need to be downloaded like on the Switch version?

@EaglyBird Well said. I'm loving the game, but there is no valid reason why it isn't technologically MUCH better. Pokemon has more financial resources at its disposal than nearly any other IP on the planet. The fact that they can't have a few interns go through the code to make it run to the level of Zelda or Xenoblade is something I cannot fathom or explain O_o

... still really fun though ^_^

ScarVio should have run way better from day one. And I still will never forget that the online co-op of Gen 4 has still never returned.

Those issues aside, I had an amazing time with the base ScarVio game.

The first DLC is simply more of the same. The same flaws, and the same awesome time. So... I'm good with that ^_^

I know I'm clearly in the minority here, and the game could very well be terrible, but I'm actually kind of interested in a game that looks and plays like Cuphead but is less dark, twist, and difficult. So, if that's the case, I'd want to check it out.

Is this game connected to Master Detective Archives: Rain Code at all?? Cuz it's the same Publisher and they both end in "code."

I think they are NOT connected, but I haven't played either game yet so I'm just checking.

and yet ACTUAL Toad (red shroom circles, blue shirt) is not in the game. instead Toad fans just get "Blue Toad" and "Yellow Toad." they don't even have the Buckenberry and Alagold monikers =P

Actually, I had the exact same thought when I saw it. I still think it doesn't look like something that would be part of the Mario universe. However, there are a few things like that in this game. So clearly this game is trying to actively break away from the typical Mario aesthetic.

I trust when Miyamoto is firm, and I also trust when he trusts others. It's a system that has worked out pretty will for Nintendo (and us gamers!).
